1. The movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is not a comedy, or a parody. It is a documentary about two people who showed up at Gant's house one night in a storm. The ending in which Frank-N-Furter dies was added in the editing room against the film crew's wishes, as they feared that showing Gant escape would cause public outcry.
2. Similarly, Gant sued Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and the Walt Disney corporation for defamation of character upon the original release of "Disney's Beauty & The Beast." He claimed: A, that they had adapted the story from his memoirs and based the character of Gaston upon him without his permission; and B, that they had changed the ending to an entirely fictional one, instead of the actual events, which consisted of Gant/Gaston killing the Beast, having his way with Belle and then cannibalizing her. Upon his execution, the case was still pending.
3. The execution of Damon Gant caused some problems for the legal system. Gant survived the lethal injection, causing the State to revert to its former execution method, by electric chair. When he shorted out the chair without dying, he was sentenced to death by firing squad, but caught all the bullets in his teeth, including the blanks. Given only one more chance to execute, the State put aside thoughts of hanging in favor of simply forcing Gant to take a spinning circular saw to the neck, but the saw broke. Since state law clearly states that surviving four executions is an act of God, Damon Gant was officially pardoned and set free. He now lives in Louisiana.

That's also why I never really liked the 'rape' jokes surrounding his character. I feel like they sort of undermine the type of person he is, which is a shame because he is a pretty nuanced character and his motivations are honestly the most fleshed out of any trilogy 'villain'.

A few reasons. One is that there's a scene in which he demands Ema stay in his office. The following day she seems unsettled. This is never addressed again. The second is his authoritative manner and actions and how he bends most people in the case to his will. Third, he has a generally unsettling demeanour that makes him seem, for lack of a better word, a bit rapey.

...because her sister just tried to push for a premature guilty verdict? Because she dreads having to testify about the time she was almost killed? I've had issues with the "haha Gant raeps people" thing for years, but that point is the one that made the least amount of sense.

I mean, yeah, you can probably infer a good few things from it. But the vagueness of all that plus everything else does beg a few questions.
Of course it doesn't really bear any serious consideration because obviously no-one is actually implying Gant is An Actual Rapist™.
