Some people may notice that as GS moves forward, it's starting to run out of possible scenarios. For instance, the killer dressing up as the murderer/victim has been done multiple times, as has the idea of the prosecutor being the murderer. It's obvious the writing needs a bit of inspiration, and I thought maybe we could try expanding the court beyond murder.

-Suing a soup shop for serving soup with some disease in it (when it was really being put in by a disgruntled employee)
-Bank robbery (it is out in the open, but assume the robber has a balaclava on and few distinguishing features)
-Copyright infringement (Who knows! Come up with a creative enough story and even copyright can sound interesting!)
I'm gone for so long, and the colors got all psychedelic! Woohoo!

Not only the game, but most of the detective books are about murder cases...maybe just because other crimes are not terrible enough to pin it on another person? Don't know... :yuusaku:

Spoiler:
....Rape?

Though that would probably put the game at too high a rating for them to do it, plus it would feel more serious and could offend people (though they've had suicide in the game before).

Considering that talking to the dead is a pretty important plot device in the games, it made sense that the cases were murders.

We need this.
I am dead serious.

But arson can make for a very good case if pulled off correctly. Arson isn't motivated by pyromania, so one of the main motives is to damage property/make it ultimately result in death. Not to mention that there are many cases where it's done out of a grudge (a la the beginning of John Grisham's The Rainmaker). It could really weave an intense and complicated web, even more so than murder.

"Phoenix, rapidly tap 'Y' to file paperwork!"

j/k of course.
But I think it would be nice to take a break from murder cases. I found 3-2 to be rather refreshing.
Spoiler: mild 3-2 spoliers
Until someone actually did get murdered, of course. But it wasn't like I didn't see that coming from a mile away.

See, one of the things that makes PW great is the sense of "Realism" mixed with certain futuristic elements. How about we make things MORE real?

Get people sentenced for Crying.

Look, it's L.A., and it's ILLEGAL to cry on the witness stand there! Heck, with THIS logic, Larry's been to prison at LEAST 3 times now!

With the soup shop thing, when one case began, I thought that was the way it would go, what with Eldoon's soup being so salty then people would have to go to hospital or something.

EXCELLENT.

I like the idea of arson. One idea that was put forward in the ideas thread for GS5 by (I think) Croik was of having someone attacked and hospitalised, then they recover for the second trial day or something and testify completely against established fact.

I must just say that is one messed up law. Just wow. Not that it would ever happen but *note to self: never be a witness in L.A.* No, seriously, what is that law good for? (and please don't take it personally ^^; it's the law I think is weird).

Also I would like a kidnapping case~

If everyone thinks it's a suicide, then there would be no suspect, and no defendant, and no defense attorney....

Unless you mean that ppl think it's a murder, and it turns out to be a suicide, but then it's still basically a murder T_T

Shelly is an assasin, we don't get to handle Darke's case, Gant killed 2 people but in several years gap, and for Krissi the two murder he did is too different. Can't argue on Dahlia though.

What I meant was a serial killing that takes a few victims, with lots of confusing evidence. That would be great XD;

To be fair, considering how many times they've done murder cases, I think they still probably have a lot more options.
Spoiler:
4-2 wasn't too bad when you were investigating a hit-and-run, and two thefts (the noodle stand and the panties). How about a murder case, wherein it turns out the victim isn't actually dead (although that might be too similar to 1-5, the fact Goodman didn't actually die by Meekins?) Of course, then no crime has been commited... so they'd have to tie it in with possibly the fact that this supposed 'victim' is actually a murderer themselves or something?

Anyway, those writers at Capcom have impressed me so far. So many murder cases, and it must be hard to write in all the different clues and hints without giving away the criminal and whatever. If the next game had a tutorial case like 4-1 (AMAZING!), and then the rest were all epic cases, like 1-5, it wouldn't bother me if they were all murder cases, as long as they were all clever.

:nick-sweat: *hands Superninfreak their sign* (Bill Engval reference, since if I've been sick for 6 months, I can't possibly be okay...)

But in reality? Nah, not too good... Started as a simple "Cold", but I've had the symptoms for 6 months, and no one can figure out the cause of it... I have also been getting fevers, sore throats at random times, and much more... I NEED to see a doctor, I know, but considering my family doctor is about as compitent as Dick Gumshoe, I'm a bit... pessimistic about the future revelations that will be brought up from it...

Also, I want to see someone sentenced for pergury, JUST ONCE!!!

When I said kidnapping I meant that when they find a suspect they wouldn't find where the kidnapped person is kept (beacuse in classic GS style the defendant is innocent of course). But Stockholm Syndrome is nice even if the series have used versions of it in T&T.

Also if we're still talking about murder cases I want a case where a second person suddenly drops dead during the investigation. Preferably the person you think is the murder. While we sure have had killers with multiple offers it never happened in the same case.
