Words cannot truly describe how much I dislike this pairing. Many think this is GS4's OTP. To me, I just think it's the result of taking the two most popular non-main characters (main characters meaning people such as the main defense attorney, partner, main prosecutor, detective, people who appeared in the series in more than one case etc.) and putting them together. That's what I think. But I know that it's not going to happen. At all. Whether it be canon or non-canon, it's not going to work. It may in some alternate GS4 fanfic, and it may in Super Makoto, but that's just about it.
Yes, I'm probably going to get marked for death by some members, but I really needed to get that out of my system.

Well, populairity too. I mean, there were a few male characters in the Legend of Zelda games, but Link basicly bathes in awesomely designed girls in 'em, so any yaoi pairings are extremely unlikely.
Besides, you've mentioned only sub-characters. While I have to say that it is likely that some Gumshoe/Atmey stuff might pop up, none of the characters are that terribly interesting compared to some other main-character pairings (edgeworth/gumshoe, phoenix/edgeworth, phoenix/godot.... etc.)
