It "sort of sounds like [Vérité] could be a real name" to you, but to a French person, it would sounds weird the first time, for, I think, a majority.
For the first time, I said. More I think of this name, more I think it doesn't sound that... bad and that it could become a real name.
(And, no, that's not a contradiction, I said that "Vérité" is not a "real" French name. I did not say that I did not like it. :p
And I still say that's not a real name. For the moment, eh.)

While that is true, most do. I suppose Konrad was chosen to be in keeping with Kyouya. Same goes for Kristoph, whose name I assume is the same for all versions.
