So, there are only two trial days in the present day timeline...? Because, I read the spoilers and...

doesn't the present-day trial last for only one day? IIRC, the flashback case happened right after Makoto passed out but the timeline section on CR says that 4-4 lasts from Oct. 7-9. Yet, I failed to see a break between the trial days. What's up?

After Makoto passes out on the stand, court is adjourned for the day, so it's actually split up over two days. Presumably Phoenix then spends the rest of that first afternoon explaining to Odoroki all the details of the case.

It works something like this

Spoiler: 4-4
Day 1-Investigation Day 2-Court, flashback court, mason system, Day 3-Court. So while it still only has two days of investigation it has 3 days of court if you will.
