....I've been....wondering for a while if...the magatama...will make a...appearance in any case...since they keep talking about some kind of Minuku...system(I belive it's called like that)...could it be in some way related to the magatama....? Ack

I'm sure we'll see some thing 'like' the Psyco Locks in GS4, considering they're using the Green HP bar instead of the !'s.

It seems unlikely at this point, since the game is more scientifically-oriented than previous games, which were more spiritually-based.

The Minuku System comes from the bracelet on Odoroki's wrist, and so far it's main (and at this point, only) use is to point out a specific part of a witness' body and yell "SOKO DA!" to point it out to the court, or something like that. So it doesn't involve the Magatama or the Psyche-Locks at all.

They haven't said anything about an extra gameplay element for the investigation phase, other than the science stuff (maybe you can lose life if you screw up?). But then, it's supposed to be closer to GS1's level of difficulty. There might not be any way to lose life during investigation.

Either way, it doesn't seem that Psyche Locks are coming back, since it's a little late to be announcing any new or returning gameplay elements.

We don't have a magatama, so no Pysche Locks. However, we will have the Minuki system, which will make up for it, I'm sure...

Anyway, lonelywerewolf, can you please stop with the constant ellipses? I know you're probably just trying to stay "in character" but it's really annoying, and I most people who do that are on my hate list. You really don't want to be on my hate list.

Then the game just might be a tad bit too easy for previous players, and while they say "around" GS1, I think they'll still crank it up a small notch. Not as hard as GS2, but not as easy as GS1 either. Somewhere in the lower-middle.

I concur. Garyuu

Anyways, how do we know that there's not going to be any magatama-action? That could possibly mean that Maya and/or Pearl have died. And that would be sad. Sadshoe

It's not that Pearl or Maya have died. It's just be stoopid to have the Minuku System AND The Magatama. It wouldn't be fair for those poor witnesses. And potentially make it too easy. Garyuu

Ooor that they don't get to meet Odoroki? Seems more plausible to me. Judge

...Or maybe Minuki is actually Pearl in disguise who has joined up with Odoroki in order to moniter his progress for Phoenix Wright, and if she was the one who gave him the Minuku bracelet it's possible that it actually contains the shards of a magatama, meaning that while slightly different using it has an effect similar to Psych Locks?

Or maybe I'm just on drugs. Who knows?

There's still the questionable nature of Odoroki's bracelet. First, why he has it, and second, why does it give him magic telescope abilities?

... or the bigger mystery, why is a telescope a magic ability?

I could easily see them explain away, oh, not only is my bracelet a magic telescope, but it also makes chains and locks appear.

The whole Minuki system could evolve into something similar to the Psyche-Locks for the next game. Like pointing out little things on a witness during investigation that proves they were in a certain place, or doing a certain thing, thus forcing them to fess up about an important point.

Eh? just because the Feys aren't around doesn't mean they're dead. No need to jump to unnecessary conclusions. Just because the Magatama and Psyche-Locks aren't featured as a gameplay element doesn't mean anything, really, just that there will be a different way to "uncover the truth" as was the method in the very first game. Since this game is supposed to be GS1 difficulty, it makes sense that they'd change or get rid of the somewhat harder aspects of later installments.

That doesn't really sound right, though. I mean, using an old game mechanic for just one case would be rather useless otherwise, like a step backwards of sorts.

Mayoi or Harumi dying would end up being the reason why Hobohodo exists.

But that's not the topic, so... The Minuku System itself appears to have the elements of the Psyche Lock Interrogation Phase, so I really doubt that Psyche Locks are going to make a comeback. Minuku is enough. Having both, as DarzieP already said, would make the game WAY to easy... And similar to Wahrheitron.
