If they're stopping this 'series', a GS5 preview next month would be awesomesauce. I doubt they'd go back to Phoenix and pals, because that's pretty pointless (Except to appease the elitist-esque GS1-3 fans who think 'ORIGINAL IS BETTERU'), so I hope either a GS5 preview or an entirely new serial will be made (Hopefully the former. We need some spectulation put to rest)

(Also, does anyone have a translation? I'm curious to why Takita and guy-who's-name-syllables-I-always-mix-up are there saying 'Ououououou!')

Well, Phoenix didn't really get his own stuff like this. It's Phoenix's objection shadow, so yeah.

I see any more off topic bitching in here, there's going to be some administrating, okay? If you're unhappy about somebody's behaviour, use the Report Post function.

As far as I know, there've been several Phoenix arc arts like this (think of the Valentine image, or the Christmas one they had, etc). I don't know about the amount they had for each of 1-3, but it seems like there are more because they cover three games instead of just one.

T-THESE ARE SO ADORABLE. No objections to the old cast getting some screentime, though, especially if they go for the 1-5 crew, Global Studios, the DeLites, or the von Karma family instead of just the main characters~ A game five preview would be awesome too, although the fact that it's Phoenix's shilouette makes me wonder if GS4's going to be retconned due to the poor reception. :sadshoe: A shame, since I liked the Gavins, Apollo, and Trucy, but it's not like they can't be reworked into the storyline. :godot:

I hardly call record sales and a high Famitsu rating a poor reception. Plus most of the people here who are bitching about it here haven't even played it yet, so I see Polly sticking around for a while. And a good thing too.

It just happens to be that most of the magazine readers don't like the game XD

I just noticed, that in the last two pictures, the artist is depicting Christmas and New Years(at least I believe so), so any of you guys think the GS 4 characters will start in another holiday theme picture? :yogi:

Ah, I see :payne: I was wondering, 'cause there is a crapload of fanart involving the new cast and I was like "whuuuuut? poor reception? um, lol what :yogi: "

No, most of the people bitching about it definitely have played it--they're just bitching in a language you possibly can't understand. If it was unpopular enough with the magazine readers to "end" after so few episodes, then that doesn't say anything good about the reception of the game with the Japanese GS fans, however you might want to swing it.

I appreciate wanting to go into something with a positive outlook--I was exactly the same before I played through it myself, and probably would have reacted similarly to violently negative criticism--but let's not pretend that ending prematurely is anything but a negative.

Lots of good TV shows end prematurely, and many good games become un-noticed. It happens because the general populace just aren't interested.

Most people who bought the game don't read that magazine, so you can't get a good sample from it. And my statement, I might add, was about the AMERICAN audience who haven't had a chance to play it yet, and still judge it. You're entitled to your opinions because you've played it; but I don't like how a lot of people here seem to agree with you just because you and Raelle said it, or because they can't stand change. :p

It depends on what you are interested in sampling. If GS4 was truly as popular as you say, don't you think running supplemental material about it would attract readers to the magazine? If the opposite happens, then it's not just the readers of the magazine that dislike it, it also failed to garner interest.

And how is that any different from judging the game to be "good" just because Croik likes it or you're sick of the 1~3 characters? Why is it okay to adore it without playing it, but disliking it based on what you know--it's not like the plot isn't outlined on this very site--is a huge no-no? Yes, I think people should wait before cementing their opinions either way too, but the negative buzz is hardly just coming from Raelle and myself.

I never said I adored it; I wouldn't make the statement if it would make me a hypocrite. I don't know what the game will be like until I play it, nor do I hate the old cast.

I just want people to give it a chance, even if they have their doubts about it. And I personally don't think 'buzz' should come into a discussion.

Edit: Also, to gaming companies, Popularity = Sales + Reviews; and although I don't agree with sales having any influence, I think that basing quality entirely on readers reviews is a little short sighted. Reviews are there to judge the game, as are the fans.

Hrm, and I thought GS4 was the most popular series. :eh?: Figures.
But then again, am glad to see the old characters back!!
They should definitely do that for GS5!!
