Don't you think that there is a little too much Blue Badgers in AJ?
Let's recap. The Blue Badger first appeared in case 1-5. It was a new thing for the police so it got some focus.
In TaT the Blue (and Pink) Badger were in the Criminal Affairs. That's exactly how it should be, a brief cameo.

But in AJ, the Blue badger is everywhere! On Wocky's T-shirt, at the Sunshine Coliseum, everywhere around the Gavinners, and... where else?
I mean, okay that the Badger is cute and funny, but how on Earth did it get so popular so many years after its debut? And it's boring after a while.
(Yes, i know case 1-5 was made after GS3, but that's not a really good explanation).

Not overused.
It is the mascot of the police, remember. That's why Wocky wore a gangsta version, probably.

Yeah, but it wasn't anywhere else than the Police Dept until GS3, and now it's everywhere.
Maybe it has to do with the fact that the Gavinners are police officers / prosecutors and they were the ones who made the badger popular?

Yeah, I would bet that it's used more because of the Gavinners, who all are in law enforcement, right?

Isn't it their mascot?

Yeah, that's probably why they had the Emo Badger guitar in the changing rooms.

Not a very helpful comment but he appeared ealier than 1-5, didn't he? That's why the blue badger has the pink badger in the later games besides AJ. At least, that is if I'm not missing something.

The Blue Badger is also something of an Ace Attorney mascot himself, even if it's only the fans that would recognize him.

I personally don't care much for the blue badger, so I consider his frequent appearance sort of dumb, but the in-universe explanation of him being a mascot somewhat justifies his ubiquitous presence. :gumshoe:

I would say that it's just something that's a GS universe thing. Just like the Steel Samuri is a recurring thing too. It's part of that universe's pop culture, so it's mentioned every now and again, but I didn't find it OVERLY used. :pearl:

Sorry, but didn't The Blue Badger first appear in 2-1, on Maggie's shirt? 1-5 was a DS-only case, made after the 2-1.

Actually, the Blue Badger appeared in 1-4, Turnabout Goodbyes. The first time you go to the police station to look for Gumshoe, there is a Blue Badger doll on the counter. If you examine the doll, the police chief starts talking about how he's trying to make it the mascot for the police department.

I checked them, and yes, it was both in 1-4 and 2-1.
So they already had the Badger in their mind as soon as they made the first game.

Wow! There really aren't words to describe that. Maybe police units here should think about adopting some sort of cute mascot. It would be amusing to say the least! :pearl:

I actually thought that the Blue Badger's evolution forms an amusing little sub-theme in the AA universe:

The Chief Detective first created him, in the version of a stuffed doll to be the department's mascot. Then Gumshoe builds a larger cardboard version. Soon, the Blue Badger begins to be more popular. By the time of T&T (what, 2 years after the original appearance?) the Chief has created a family (Pink badger!).

Then 7 years pass, and by now the Badger has become a CULTURAL PHENOMENON! Promoted by popular Criminal Affairs Rock Group the Gavinners, more versions of the Badgers have begun to spring up. The Red Badger guitar! (Was there a Black Badger something in there?) Large costumed Blue Badgers hand out balloons and fliers, promoting Safety and Justice for all!

Indeed, the Blue Badger's popularity has spread widely enough that even among those who don't approve of what the Police Department stands for, the Badger has a place. Gangsta Badga adorns Wocky's shirt, and ironic statement of fighting against "the man." Truly, the Blue Badger and Friends have become a veritable Pop Icon and symbol of our times!

Now I feel bad that the Chief Detective doesn't have an actual NAME.
