when reading this but I find it to be true. Phoenix conveyed an extraordinary amount of attraction about 
which was made known during the first trial in GS3 and was finally proven in the last(which is also one more amazing reason I loved everything about the last turnabout!). Even when an evil mass-murderer twin betrayed him, Phoenix had one psychological stronghold that he escaped to after the trial: his rudimentary feelings that were just enough to make him question if it was even

It's probably possible, but I don't think Phoenix would go so far as to actively conceal it from them. Maybe fudge some of the details, but Maya isn't THAT thick.

I'd really like to see a different Maya. I wouldn't even care if she was a defendant (if you think about it, Maya hasn't been accused of murder any more times than, say, Maggey or Phoenix), just as long as she was coming into her own as Master and not the same whiny helpless girl she always was before. I'd like it even better if she was in some "support" capacity though, perhaps as a spirit medium.
Hell, I don't even care if it's in the games. Put it in the fan comics for all I care, as a plot-insignificant addition.

Because it's so rare to see Phoenix without Maya, you'd think that during a flashback or something he would make at least a reference to her. But he acts like she doesn't exist. I know that the idea is to avoid pulling too many of the old characters into Apollo's story, but still... a measly dialog reference isn't that much to ask for.

I think that Nick visits Maya and Pearls in Kurain, as they're too busy to visit him. Besides, since Nick probably kept them updated; would you really like to go and visit LA when there's a viscious murderer who's targeting one of your friends and anyone thats close to them? :)

The "last case" is kind of a tough cookie, BECAUSEit was only two months after 3-5, and Phoenix accepted it only the night before. He probably didn't think there was any reason to call up Maya in the middle of the night and ask her to leave her Kurain responsibilities just for one morning of trial. He's a lawyer--he should be able to take one simple case without depending on a teenaged girl to cheer him on. And like Bikini said in the credits of T&T, spiritualism got a huge boost after 3-5. As the new master to Kurain, Maya was probably really busy.
It wasn't until the very end of the trial that afternoon that things went wrong. There was only a relatively short time between GUILTY and HAHA GOODBYE. And then the "investigation" picks up two weeks later. Just because we don't get to see what happened in that section doesn't mean nothing did.
And Maya did get a measely dialogue reference (two, if you count "this is the ramen stand Pheonix and his old assistant used to eat at") and no one has been satisfied with that so far. I don't see how one more throwaway mention would really make that much of a difference.
