The weird scientist dude in case 2 is reading his book in the Japanese way, which would be extremely odd in an English translation. Would they change the sprite?

I didn't really notice it so I doubt they would change it.

It would be very easy to just flip the sprite horizontally. Or play the animation backwards. Or whatever.

Well, its been proven how easy it is to flip a set of animations(see Case 5 of TT-it's got spoilers in it), so I'm sure it'd be easy to flip around Mr. College/Univeristy boy.

They could easily mirror the entire animation.

OR, edit the animation, without flipping the entire sprite.

Here's my animation edit. Sprites kept in tact. The only thing changed were the frames.

Even included 2 page turning to show how easily they could do translate it to US.

I think the localization team won't change the sprites,
as all fans know that Phoenix Wright is just a remake of the Japan version.
You can see this knid of things throughout the game.

For example
In Case1-5, Meekin's badge is still in Japanese.

They won't change the sprites, but they will change the texts, which is a lot more easier.

For example
Franc. von Karma returned from Germany instead of America(as in the Japan version.)

They've changed the sprites before. Mostly little things like the Court Record and such, but for, say, Trials and Tribulations, the RYU on Young Phoenix's shirt says "P" instead.

Though I doubt most people will notice this one anyway. I didn't.

Well that one's pretty obvious, it's all over his shirt, and it's the wrong name. But with the book turning I don't think it matters much.

You could always say he's reading a Japanese book :D

Or he's reading upside down.

Because he can.

It could also be an excuse for his love of physics, and Kawadzu could say stuff like rotating a book 95 degrees to the right and reading it is a testament of how good he is at it or something.

Maybe he's not reading at all. Perhaps he is looking for a specific page.

Looking backwards. :s

Anyone else think he was a religous guy the first time you saw him? He looks more like a priest or a senior about to graduate then a third year science student.

So true.

I think they ment to go for the priesty image. As I've said earlier, 'that was missing'.

They didn't fix it for Adrian. It's no big deal.

Actually, I'm looking at her sprites in her animations page now, and she is reading the right American way. Unless Croik or someone who animated it changed it somehow.

Oh yeah. I didn't notice that she read it our way in the japanese one too.

But if Adrian reads american-style in GS2 in Japan, I don't see the problem with this guy reading Japanese-style in America. It fits in with both of their personalities.

If he were reading the book right-to-left, then the front cover would be an empty border, and the important-looking image would be on the back.

If he were flipping through it looking for a certain passage or illustration, then the possibility remains that the image (word?) is on the front cover- as most books are- and therefore that the book is written left-to-right.
