Although, they could be drastically different give the variation between the English and French names we've previously seen.

Am I right i thinking that someone suggested Verity as a name for Minuki earlier in this thread?

Couldn't resist tossing in my two cents for this (even though some of my suggestions are similar to previous posters)...

:odoroki: Apollo Law - Yeah, I'm actually fine with Apollo... I just think Law would be a better last name, if only because it reminds me of Jude Law. (Speaking of judicial pun names...)

:minuki: Trudy - Sounds like "true" (I'm actually fond of Verity as well)

:garyuu: Kyle Gary - Stick an R. in the middle of the 2 names, and you might understand why I'd pick this name for him (I'd also substitute Garrison as a last name for the brothers, but it reminds me of South Park, heh)

:kyouya: Keith Gary - After Keith Richards. (Probably a bad choice of rock stars to name him after, considering Richards' reputation XD)

Unless they change it, like they did with Phoenix's shirt in T&T. But then again, I think it would be a lot more effort to do that with a loose necklace than it would be to change a static letter on a sweater....

I don't see why they would change Kristoph to Christopher. Christopher is more conventional, yeah, but Kristoph has a more... elegant feel, and keeps the initials intact.

Looking through the thread, I have some names for Odoroki.

The first name could be either Jude, Laurel, Richmond or Justin.

-Laurel contains the word 'law' (well, how you pronounce it anyway). A safe bet at translating the pun, and sounds fine.
-Jude, as Raphael noted, could be short for 'judical', again tying in with the pun. It sounds a bit girly, but it allows some Beatles references which is always a plus.
-Richmond is a bit... old, wise sounding, but the meaning of the name is 'the protector king'; this ties in with both his profession being in his name (protector -> defense -> defense attourney...) and I believe 'king' was one of the kanji in Odoroki.
-Justin is young sounding, which is nice, and means 'fair'. Again, ties in with his profession and wanting to get fair verdicts. This one is a bit of a stretch, though.

As for the last name, I think Prize would be perfect. To quote Graywords... "That comes as quite a surprise, Mr. Prize!". If someone was to address Odoroki by 'sir', it would be even better. Of course, I'm not sure who could, but I'm just saying.

Still, 'Prize' is a bit cheesey sounding to me... but I think it works rather well.

Yaay xD Great idea for a thread xD

I thought that Atticus Finch would be a great name for Odoroki, but I guess that would be too obvious/cheesy, too many people would know who that was xD

:odoroki: Alan Lawson (I was surprised to see I'm not the only one who thought of that XD it would so work for him)

I came up with a few for Minuki

:minuki: Minty (Aminta) Wright

Minty is kind of a short/pet name version of Aminta (or Araminta) which is the greek word for "defender".

Trixie Wright
- Its a cute, playful name that kinda plays on the word "trick" which could go with magic trick and etc.

Mysti Wright
- Mysti, Mystic, that sort of deal

Monica Wright - "Advisor"

It was fun trying to figure out a good surname for the Garyuu's. "Gavin" is not german, and its not even a surname =P

Galt sounded good XDD It basically means "a brush of hair" and that fits, considering their hair XDDD

Though I'm kinda partial to Garret and Greer. Probably Garret xD The Garret Wave sounds... decent XD

:kyouya: - Daniel Garret

Konrad Garret
- That totally fits him to a T XD

Eckhard
- He's brave and hardy o.o Dunno if it sounds cool enough for him, he'd probably never go by that name in public xD

Emil Garret
- "Rival" would suit him well

:garyuu: - Albert (Albrecht, but he'd prefer to be called Albert) Garret

Gunther
- Something about that name... it sounds right for him o.o

Alexander

Alfonse

Nicholas

Dierk

Edmund

Hmmm... Nicholas Garret sounds the best to me, but thats just me o.o

I'm pretty sure it is, but if it isn't- does it really matter? There's lots of names that work as both personal and surnames. Take Lawrence, for example.

But their surname isn't supposed to be German anyway. The Garyuus were half American originally, but they still had very Japanese names. In the same way, they're half German now, but their surname is not. The implication is that at the very least, their father was not a foreigner (unless for some reason they go by their mother's maiden name...)

It's a tiny detail, but one that I like being kept intact.
