turns out to be canon, because I was kind of disappointed when there wasn't much of it in the game. I had been reading tons of fanfics about them before playing, and I was expecting to see some form of in-game fluff!Although, it is unlikely that it'll become canon, because Klavier probably won't be a major character in GS5, so there won't be any opportunities for Ema and Klavier to interact onscreen. Also, they went through a whole game without any relationship development. If the producers ever did have anything in store for them, they would have shown some sort of growth from 4-2 to 4-4, don't you think?
Unless the producers respond to the fan support for Ema/Klavier, and write something in. Which is practically impossible.
Also, does anyone know of any Ema/Klavier doujinshi? I'd like to get my hands on some, hee hee.

Not exactly a pairing but I wonder exactly what the deal is between Phoenix and Ema in cannon. She is blatantly working for him, in fact it sort of seems her loyalty is to him before the police.
Well, it dates all the way back to 1-5, if you recall how that case started... and went. I'd have to say that their relationship (not necessarily pairing) is based on mutual trust, as well as lingering feelings that stem from both his allowing her to be his sidekick (and showing off her forensic skills and gear) and how Phoenix fixed the relationship between the two sisters. And, of course, he probably saved Lana's life by doing his job.
Since then, she'd probably had a pretty serious case of hero worship, and maybe a bit of a crush on that young feller who'd helped her sister become herself again... which is why she was so horribly disappointed to hear about what happened to Phoenix later. Given a choice between helping the guy who'd saved her sister's soul (as it were) or possibly getting into trouble for stretching a few laws (by passing him somewhat classified information and evidence), it should be pretty much a non-brainer for her; loyalty to Phoenix outweighs that to the department which has barred her from her first love.
There's... fondness there. I'm not sure if I'd call
x a pair because of this past tie and shared experiences... but I admit that I always thought she liked him due to everything he ended up doing over the course of the case, and he didn't exactly treat her like 'just a kid', which should've helped her opinion of him. The way she opened up as soon as HoboHodo was mentioned was cute, though - and she's still 'soft' on him, given how others have pointed out her reaction to the news that he still had her fingerprint powder. And, of course, the fact that he always wears that old badge she gave him like a knight would his lady's token... even if he has his own reasons for doing so. Besides, with his loosened morals and the less-dangerous age gap involved (23 and 16 is much worse than 33 and 26), it's not impossible. Maybe improbable, but not impossible. Even if she gets blushy over Klavier - but then again, he seems to have that effect on most women. And some men (
).
