I am transcribing sheet music for the Gyakuten Saiban games. I would really appreciate the help of someone able to rip music from their DS, because, if I've read correctly, the original format is a midi file and you guys have to go through a conversion process to create the mp3s that have been put up on places like Final Turnabout etc. for download. I have a program that lets me convert midis to sheet music notation. It sounds like people are really enjoying the soundtrack to GS4, so I would really appreciate it if somebody could rip the music off the cartridge in midi format (especially Odoroki, Minuki and Kyouya's themes) and upload it somewhere for me to get hold of in order to create sheet music. If, of course, this is actually possible.

Thanks a lot!

P.S. And while I'm at it, if anybody is able to rip a midi of Edgeworth's Great Revival theme off Justice For All I would be over the moon as it seems there's a lot of people after sheet music for that. Will Powers

Because of the fact that the GS4 soundtrack is now confirmed for June 27th no more ripping will be done. You'll have to wait til then alas.

Aw, no exceptions to that even if I'm after midis? It's just that they're very unlikely to ever produce a book of Phoenix Wright sheet music, and the OST will be in mp3 format which is very difficult to transcribe compared to midis, which I can just import into my notation program and tada, sheet music for people to play. If I wanted the OST itself I'd be quite happy to buy it, but it's midis that I need when it comes to transcriptions Sadshoe

If you have the rom, look for VGMtrans. That'll let you rip some of the songs to midi.

Not all the songs can be ripped though.

DarzieP - converting mp3 to midi gives really distorted results that you can't do anything with. Even your average sequenced midi can have between 7 and 15 tracks which I have to somehow convert into three or 4 instrumental lines. Though as the GS4 tracks are midi originally they may convert a bit better compared to other tracks I've tried in the past - thanks for the tip!

E~A - thanks for that, I've never tried ripping anything before but if it's not possible to get them any other way because of the OST release I'll give it my best shot :)

Though getting hold of a rom would probably be even more questionable than trying to get hold of midis... Detective Gumshoe

Anyway, I just thought I'd ask in case anybody happened to have them lying around on their HD or anything... 'cause the tracks are really good and the character themes in particular I would like to transcribe Will Powers Guess I'm outa luck - oh well, it was worth a shot!

I can probably get some midis for you. I will warn you though, without the proper samples, the raw midis don't sound very great. Percussion is transcribed on normal tracks (which might sound better if you simply change the percussion track channel to 10), and some notes are off key because of the samples they use. Also, many popular songs were made in streamed audio, and thus do not have midis for them. Cornered, Objection!, Kyouya's Theme and Examination ~ Allegro are the ones I know of that were made in audio. Anyway, I'll try to have the midis up tomorrow.

Wow, thanks a lot - very much appreciated. Don't worry about the sampling and everything, my nifty program will fix all of that. It's okay if you can't get midis out of all the tracks, I'll appreciate whatever you're able to get for me :) Thanks again!

This is a raw dump of (what should be) all the MIDI music in the game. The instrumentation is incredibly messed up and the files aren't named properly, but it's something. :P

Wow, thanks a lot! They won't play in media player but I can open them up in my notation program and see the notes so that's awesome :D

Once the soundtrack is out (if all the songs are included) I might be able to at least put them in their correct instruments.

I've got all the midis working (Thanks again, Guess Who) - I was surprised at the number of midis that were bunged in there from games 1 & 2, they helped fill in a few extra gaps in my collection!
