Spoiler: 3-3/GS4
...Godot, at the end of 3-3, says something that seems nothing but an empty taunt. I believe it goes "...the most terrifying one is that defense attorney over on the defense's bench!"

While this might not be in the Japanese version, this made me think. You just won your case on a bluff, and that's twice you bested someone who treats you like shit. What if this was Godot's only lucid moment, where he actually, in some sort of breaking the 4th wall thing, warns us, the player/others around Phoenix, that he IS willing to go to certain extremes (even though he didn't really fake the evidence that got him disbarred), certain extremes which he willingly goes to in GS4.

If indeed, it's the case, kudos for telling the truth about a certain spiky haired attorney, however, Godot's still a dick.

I assumed that was another reference to Godot's grudge against Phoenix, but I suppose it could be foreshadowing. I'd be interested in knowing if a similar line was in the Japanese version and whether game 4 was already in the works when the original game 3 came out. If it wasn't being set up, then its unlikely that the comment is foreshadowing anything, but I wouldn't rule it out as of yet.

Oh, I'm fully aware that there's a 99% chance that this isn't really meant to be much of anything. However, I found it odd that he says that Phoenix is more terrifying than Furio Tigre. Any other insult, fine, but "terrifying"? That's "to inspire fear", right, and Godot doesn't fear Phoenix.

When people ask questions like this, it makes me want to go back and find out, except that takes so looooooooong.

I'm not sure if Godot used the word "terrifying" in the Japanese but I think the sentiment was the same. But I don't think it was in reference to Phoenix's use of evidence. As far as I know, GS4 was not being written until after 3 was released, and originally Takumi did not want to use Phoenix at all, so it's unlikely that anything in the series (except for in Rise From the Ashes) is honest foreshadowing towards GS4.

Even so, there IS a chance that the localisation team might've slipped it in, since the translation was fairly close to or after GS4 was released.

To be honest though, even accidental forshadowing is awsome ^___^

I thought as much, personally, but baseless conjecture is awesome~!

I just find the coincidence funny.
