Somehow it works for Takita, but only as a first name XD I wonder what his surname will be...

I'm not a fan of Trucy though, although I've gotten used to it now, and Klavier actually has a good ring to it. Konrad would've worked as well though.

And here's another new one:

Kagerou Urafushi = Shadi Smith

From an article on Gamespot:

http://uk.gamespot.com/ds/adventure/gyakutansaiban4/news.html?sid=6181316&om_act=convert&om_clk=multimodule&tag=multimodule;picks;title;3

Quote:
The demo stuck close to the model of the previous Phoenix Wright games. The demo opening showed off a crime and then segued to Apollo's somewhat spastic internal monologue as he prepped for his court appearance with Kristoph Gavin. The demo's dramatic twist to the proceedings was Apollo's client, onetime ace attorney Phoenix Wright, who's gone all granola here, sporting a knit cap and stubble and playing piano in the Borscht Belt Club. The former attorney is accused of murdering one Shadi Smith during a poker game and is in need of some defense.

Woohoo! Now thats a well thought out name :D I mean, Shadi = Shady and Smith is a REALLY common name in Britain (and America I would guess)

But Borscht Belt? I have no idea about that XD

Why is it always my favorite characters that get the worst names!? :yani-fist:

Wocky? That's awful :/

Why is it that all the AA4 names suck, with the exception of Kristoph? :/

I think Croik has found a name she hates more than Ron DeLite.

There's a village in France named Orly, too. I think they should have used that instead :P

Seriously though, if they wanted to have a name with the meaning 'truth', surely there were better candidates than Trucy.

My faith in the translation crew has been torn to shreds. Then again the same happened with FE8 and 9--I should know because I was there. People get so attached to the Japanese names that the localized freaking suck. *commits suicide*

Trucy's the only real disappointment thus far. Verité was a much nicer name. :uramidn:

This might be already said, but it might also remember the word 'truce' having to do with cards.

I don't have a problem with Klavier, even if it sounds corny. Wocky is just...no.

Klavier = Piano
Bikini = lower half of a two-piece
Trucy = passable if a bit weird
Kristoph = variation of Christopher
Apollo = Greek god
Wocky = Um...pocky? Maybe he's going to be some Wapanese punk? It's not even a pun!

Also, I noticed from some images on GameSpot that Klavier litters his speech with German words like, "Herr (Mr.)", "Ja (Yes)", and "Achtung! (Alert! or Attention! Basically, a form of announcement)". Looks like the Gavins are going to be German after all, not only in heritage but in dialect as well. Does anyone else other than me find this to be sexiest thing in AA history since Angel Starr?

There seems to be a big European thing going on with this game. Is this game being localized in Europe or something? (No offense to the Europeans)

Shadi Smith is kind of har har, but Wocky?! What's his first name? Jabber? :meekins:

Wocky? I can't think of any gangster wannabe who would give himself a ridiculous nickname, with the exception of a Dick Tracy character.

Macbeth - sexist? Where did that come from?

I don't mind Trucy. It sounds like Tracy + Lucy. And those are both cute names.

But Wocky... it doesn't look or sound like a name you'd give ANYONE. It's like a muppet, or a goddamn Neopet. He's supposed to be a hot-tempered punk, not a hand puppet!!

Whenever Takita appears, I'll first think of Fozzie Bear... WOCKA WOCKA WOCKA... Then of Wakka from FFX... Then of Neopets.. Then I'll cry a bit inside from the laughter that is killing me.

Maybe it's payback for all the whining about Apollo. We inadvertently challenged them to do worse. They did.
Seriously, Wocky... wtf.

Maybe - just maybe - it's a nickname he chose to apply to himself on the grounds that only someone with severely high levels of badassery could get away with a name like Wocky.

Maybe also it's his last name (oh geez, a Yakuza family named Wocky XD) and his first name is Javert. P:

Of course, I don't hate the name - on the contrary, I think it's hilarious. I also think that Takita is hilarious in much the same way. So, I'm cool with it.

Also, Klavier - awesome name, and Klavier speaking random German - more funny. I think I'm going to have a blast playing this game.
