If they were going for that, I'm not sure. That and depending on how you pronounce, it would come off more as sounding like "Dairy Ann" rather than Darien/Darian.
Then again, it can be just completely random with no purpose similar to the original Daian name and was simply changed since Daian is of Japanese origin. (I lol'd when I found out Daian means something like "peace".)
