I already like Phoenix much, much better than Apollo.

Even from the very beggining Phoenix had a very strong sense of justice (haha, pun not intended). He also seemed a little more... sarcastic? There was just something about Phoenix that is very endearing.

Maybe I'll grow to love him (I had to grow to love Gumshoe, at first I couldn't stand him), but as of right now he just doesn't hold a candle to my favorite ex-ace attorney.

My bad, I didn't type "more than Apollo".

I liked younger Phoenix more, but older Phoenix is alright. He seems to have been hanging out a lot with Edgey, as he is now Mr. Emo Hobo.

...You have spawned an idea for this artist.

As for who is better, Nick or Apollo... Nnnnnn....
I like Apollo for his 'OMGI'MSOFRIKKIN'NERVOUSRIGHTNOW!' personality in the demo. Nick is just awesomely cool.

I wonder if that's what actually happened~? WE NEED TO SEE MOAR EDGEWORTH. MORE ANSWERS PLEASE! But it's creepy... Talking about the older characters... What would Larry be like seven years later? :maya-shock:

Older Phoenix seems very cool. One thing I noticed though, was that Phoenix seemed to remember Payne well after seven years. In JFA he seemed to have no recollection of him, and that was only a years difference...weird.

What I wanna know is how he went from DORK!Nick to Awesome!Nick in 12 years. XD;; I hope he is still slightly a dork. Nobody changes THAT much in that short of time, do they? :beef:

I guess that kind of explains it...i guess. :sadshoe:

I would think its possible to change in that amount of time! For instance, when I was but a baby, I couldn't talk or walk. When I turned twelve I had a nice vocabulary, and could not only walk, but run too! :grey: And that was a time span of 12 years, regardless of the fact that it is almost entirley irrelevant.

But, that does not mean that I want him too completley change! I still want some old nick...sprinkled in with the cool new nick!

That's hopefully what we'll get in this localisation of the game. You see, many people who got the Japanese version complained that Nick was too different than what he used to be. But since our localisation is different, we might spot more of the Old Nick in him.

Of course, I always thought that this was the same guy as 7 years ago. When you look at his responses, you can see he's saying out loud all of the thoughts he used to keep to himself. Like his insult to Payne about his imagination :)

So, now he's more extroverted, outspoken, and carefree. GOD YES, he's more awesome.

And I still think Apollo knew him from an earlier time. He seemed to be awestruck at the idea of him being Phoenix Wright, and he said something among the lines of "Phoenix Wright? Lying? No way in hell"... Perhaps he went to some of Phoenix's trials as field research, after all, if someone is one of the best attorneys in the area, and you want to be a good attorney, go and take notes... am I right?

(It would make sense, you know, seeing as most players will do the exact same things as Apollo that they did as Phoenix, it would fit the new character to study the ways of the older one, for a better "retrofitting" of some sort.)

I got a kick out of Phoenix in the demo. He just seems so cool. Apollo seems like fun as well although I'm withholding all final judgments on all characters until I play the game for myself. I also agree that Apollo probably had at least heard about Phoenix. After all in the trailer he is referred to as the "legendary" Phoenix Wright, so I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Apollo was at least aware of Phoenix's reputation. There seemed to be a bunch of lines indicating this as well. One of my favorites was..."(First trial: nervous. Meeting him: cardiac arrest)." Apollo did seem to have a bit of a hero worship thing going in the demo which I found really cute for some reason.

Phoenix tends to be more collected and cool, but Apollo seems to be more hyper and show his nervousness a little more. I can't really judge a character with a simple demo, I'm sure Apollo has a sarcastic side to him.

Don't Judge Apollo too much just from the demo - once he gets over his first case jitters he actually is a lot more like young Phoenix XD;; And Phoenix was pretty jittery his first case, too.

I can't say I like either better than the other... but I liked Apollo immediately, while it took me a long time to warm up to Phoenix.

The end of case 1 especially makes Apollo pretty damn awesome >:D (nobody spoil!!)

I did find it kind of amusing that Phoenix's sarcastic comments came out more rather then keeping it in his inner monologue. I guess the creators realized that this was an important part of his personality so they made him voice his thoughts more. Nothing wrong with that, I'm glad I could still see that side of Phoenix without being in his head ^^. Not to mention he actually sounds like he knows law now xD.. in the games as a rookie he was always going "Huh? I didn't know about that law.. Orly? I didn't know about that " quite a bit lol. I look forward to seeing more of him and Apollo in the game. :edgy:

I feel quite alone in the fact that Apollo immediately appealed to me more than Phoenix did in any of his forms. D= I warmed up to him quicker than I did to Phoenix, too. Of course, it's silly to base a judgment off of one tiny part of one short case, but so far... Yeah.

Actually, that was the case with me too. For some reason, I don't still like Phoenix as much as I like other characters, but Apollo is someone I might love to play as! He seems to be a great character.

I don't think he came across as weaker in court at all o_o Look at Nick on his first case; he was the same, I think. The first case always has them not getting obvious things, it's an intro case to new players, so it's easier.

Oh, I think you will have the same feeling with me after you play the whole GS4.

I mean, it's fine if he's just helped in the first case(and actually Phoenix didn't just help him, he was leading Apollo to the end),the second and third case were also fine, but I can't feel good when Apollo was still acting like a kid who couldn't see very obvious points in the last case.

And also, the other people, even the Prosecutor :kyouya: helped him a lot,let along his "super power".Personally,it make the game much easier to play.

As for Apollo being naive... He's younger then Nick was when he first started. Also, everyone isn't the same... I'd rather see Apollo as naive as he is then him being too much like Nick after his first case. (These are my thoughts, but I haven't played the game and I go by what I have played in the demo.)

Well, I'm not complaining that Apollo should be clever or something like that, it's fine as far as he can solve all the cases. As a matter of fact, I think it's also kindda his ability of gaining others' help, and just like what you said, he's still young (he looks like a teenage to me XD). I just wish he would get a really clear idea of the cases before the trail began. It's just annoying to see him being totally shocked by some very simple questions.(Maybe it's just like what Mia felt in Phoenix's first case :gant: )

That was pretty great. I got a bigger kick out of the way Phoenix kept screwing with Payne though. The one that really sticks out in my mind is when Payne gives him a hard time about making his living as a poker player ("A life a serious person like me couldn't even imagine"), Phoenix says something like, "Yes, your imagination always was rather limited" (both quotes from memory so the wording isn't exact). Phoenix's comment and Payne's reaction made me laugh pretty hard.

I kind of like that throughout the game Apollo is still a newbie. When GS1 was made they didn't know if there was going to be another, so Phoenix had to do a lot of growing--we had to learn all about him because it was our only chance. Now that AA has become a franchise, the writers can afford to hold back a little, especially for Apollo's first game. It might mean he'll get a more gradual development than Phoenix did.

The end was brilliant, yelling and nothing coming out.
