In other words, this is where we talk about how the reviewers liked this here game, and whether we think they're talking out their arses or not. This is mostly going to be online or US Magazine reviews for now, since it's gonna be a while for Europe to catch up. (Release dates... don't go there. PlayAsia rocks.)

First things first, we'll start with the two ranking sites, Gamerankings and Metacritic. (As new reviews come in, these'll change)
Metacritic: 78
Gamerankings: 76

Now, out of the two I'd say Metacritic is the better site to listen to, as they do weighted averages. That means that better written, or more prestigious reviews count for more than the others, and I find that usually makes a more accurate claim. Also, these don't count the Famitsu review (36 out of 40 or 90%), so I've created my own number for reference.
Metacritic w/ Famitsu: 84
Gamerankings w/ Famitsu: 83

Now, onto the reviews themselves:
1UP: 85 'Couple the comedy with Justice's engrossing story and you have a case that would be criminal not to take. '
IGN: 83 'This may just be yet another of Capcom’s infamous rehashes, but it’s so much more enjoyable than most that it’s extremely hard to ignore.'
Games Radar: 80 'Apollo Justice delivers the same winning formula we've come to expect, throws in some refreshing new twists, and leaves us satisfied yet still eager to see where the story will go.'
Game Informer: 80 'It’s funny, unique, and breaks up the text scrolling with more varied activities'
Video Game Talk: 80 'Apollo Justice delivers an evolved version of the Phoenix Wright titles, but the overall experience has been shortened dramatically.' (NB: They don't seem to get the other ones were ports :P)
Nintendo Power: 80 'With that said, the latest Ace Attorney game is an excellent continuation of the series, featuring more compelling mysteries to unravel and lots of memorable characters.'
Game Pro: 75 'It's a solid distillation of the franchise formula and if you haven't yet had your fill, I wholly recommend the game, because you will no doubt enjoy it. But I personally couldn't get over how derivative the game felt.'
Play Magazine: 55 'Plead nolo contendere, Apollo.' (To explain, nolo contendere means, no contest. It basically means 'I didn't do it, but I'll accept the guilty verdict')

Finally, here are the unfinished results of the CR poll. We're ignoring the 'I haven't done it yet', or 'haven't bought it' columns, and I've altered the percentages accordingly

Beat it, LOVED it! (275/413) 66%
Beat it, thought it was good (96/413) 23%
Beat it, thought it was average (21/413) 6%
Beat it, didn't like it (5/413) 1%
Beat it, it SUCKED (16/413) 4%
So, if we ignore the people who thought it was average, 94% had a positive impression of the game, and 6% did not.

So what do you think? Do you agree with what these guys have said, or do you disagree? Share your views here, and remember. A lot of the data here could be set to change in the future, so check back here once in a while to see the updated statistics!

Rehash? What?

I'd like to point out that the CR poll is on an AA fansite which can bias the results in two ways.
The first is giving it a high rating just because it's an AA game, and the second is quite the opposite holding it to the standard of their favorite installments.

Just throwing that out there.
FYI, I voted “loved it”, but I almost voted lower because I was comparing it to the other games before I corrected myself.

Well yeah, I know that it's going to be biased, but people here are generally sensible people who put what they think. And over half loved it. Not only that, but nearly 90% had a good opinion of the game. I think that's pretty good going!

And um... yeah. This was a bit of a bump to be honest. XD

Rehash? What?

The fact that these games don't do anything extraordinary new and exciting. The stories may be good and new, but the gameplay remains forever the same. I think that's what they meant.

78% seems pretty good. Not everyone likes this sort of game, not everyone likes Apollo even, so it seems a fair estimation of how people feel. Note that there have been just 7 reviews as of yet.

I voted "average". I would've given it "good" or possibly higher, though, if not for the disappointment the final case was.

Then again, what do you expect when the other games were ports? I just wish that the people who review the games knew more of the history so they could give more informed marks. I suppose 78 is ok, it means that they think the game is good. But I think that the famitsu score should be counted into it, which is how I came up with the 84. I mean, when you look at the individual reviews, there were four 80's. It's only that darn 55 that mucks it up.

How does the fact that they're ports matter in the rating? Games should be rated as they stand now, how they're appreciated in the current game market, not the one back then. Virtual Console games and the likes are rated lower nowadays than they were back when they were released, too, which makes sense.

You have to remember that if you are taking something from IGN that you have to have the clue that a lot of their main site reviewers are pretty ignorant in gaming knowledge. ("You can't spell IGNORANT without IGN.")

This is pretty much heard in their SSBB podcast. You don't even have to listen to it to know, the users commenting on how bad it was says it.
