What did you expect?
Spoiler:
Phoenix spent 7 hard years working to get back at Kristoph, and when you pick guilty (since it was really obvious that she was NOT guilty), you create a hung jury and foil Phoenix's plan, and ultimately fuck up the end of the game.

There's a video of it on youtube but I can't find it.

I don't know, I thought it was kind of lame for a bad ending (outside of "the "miracle" never happen." 2-4 did a much better job). Of course, given that the only way to get this ending is to choose "no" to the question "do you want to win the game?", it's not exactly dramatic.

Wow, that IS pretty morbid.

At least now Vera can spend eternity with her dad, Terry, and Diego/Godot and talk about how much getting poisoned sucks.

And haunt Kristoph. Haunt him by appearing in his cell and drawing Kristoph/Armstrong hentai all over the prison walls. XD

Spoiler:
Why would she die just because you found her guilty. That's pretty dumb I think. Shouldn't she die then regardless of guilty or not?

But whatever XP~ It's not as cool an ending as the not guilty one. Just takes two minutes really.

I came up for an explanation for this while I was falling asleep last night.

Spoiler: DSL's Demented Theory
It's quite simple. If Vera was found innocent, the doctors treating her end up using every last ounce of stamina and ability they have to save her life, and she lives. If the trial was inconclusive, they would assume she's guilty and, while they wouldn't intentionally let her die, they subconsciously end up working less hard, and thus she doesn't live.

Or maybe the inconclusive announcement shocked the nurses enough that "Doctor" Hickfield slipped in unnoticed. You never know with points of divergence. :hotti:

Interesting... I figure it's because

Spoiler:
she's going to die, but when she's declared innocent, then she can sense that somehow and knows that there are good people who really care about her and are friends, and therefore it's worth fighting to stay alive. Cheesy, I know, but I think it's cute. :)

That explanation does kinda makes sense, since Phoenix mentions in the good ending about how it's actually pretty difficult for people to die if they feel that they have something they want to live for, or something to that degree. He was even referring to Vera at the time.

But yea.. the bad ending sucked. And who in their right mind would find Vera guilty after seeing all that evidence anyway?? (excluding those who picked it out of curiosity) :<

I dunno. I saw it, but wanted a longer "way to screw up, dumbass" ending. (I agree with whomever said it before- 2.4 did a MUCH better job with this).

I was hoping you'd get endings identical in length, with maybe a "NYAH, NYAH, NYAH, NYAH, NYAH, TOLD YOU SO" rant from

Spoiler:
Noodle Hair
.

Or, at the very least, a screenshot of SOMEONE being depressed over her death, you know?

(I was secretly wishing for a scene with Mr. Hat saying, "And that's all, folks!" ...Or something like that).

I liked how they threw in

Spoiler:
Noodle Hair's final "laugh," though.

OMG, yes. That is the ultimate revenge. Kristoph x Armstrong...I think I just got a new favorite pairing...Now, to draw FANART!

I didn't know there was an alternate ending. I should try that out now. When I was playing, I kept Lammy's hand over the "Guilty" sign and thought about doing it for a minute, said "Nah" and pressed not guilty.

Glad I wasn't the only one that thought the bad ending reminded me of Trauma Center's operation failure.

This ending was not worth going back and pressing "guilty" for. It was just so predictable. The only way it could have been better was if:
Spoiler:
Apollo and Trucy actually found out that Lamiroir was their mother, and that she voted guilty even though he and Trucy worked so hard to provide a solid defense that was so obviously true. And that she knew she was doing this to her children when she made the decision.

Spoiler:
Maybe it's a comment on the Jurist System? Phoenix obviously set this up just so he could clear his name and get sweet revenge on Kristoph. He knew that under the old judicial system, Kristoph would be untouchable, so he had to rely on a jury to carry out justice. But once you do that, you subject the verdict to the sometimes random will of the populace. And I'm afraid I must agree with Kristoph here in that the jury is going to be more swayed by emotion than by evidence, which is what they should be paying attention to. But then again, under the Jurist System, defense attorneys don't have to provide an air-tight case for EVERYTHING with evidence backing up EVERY point. They just need a better case, and therefore they have a much better chance of winning than under the old system. Furthermore, we know all too well how easily swayed judges can be, so maybe, even under the old system, the law isn't quite as "absolute" as Kristoph makes it out to be.
