When you have to present the final evidence of the flashback case...don't you kind of feel like crap? Like what you're about to do just feels wrong?

When I did it I got depressed kind of quick because I felt like I was the one responsible for ruining Phoenix's career. You don't want to go on but you don't have a choice.

Oh well; alls well that ends well (I guess).

I was half expecting him to point at the screen and blame it on the player, then give a game over o_o?

That part was rather depressing. I just sat there staring at the journal page and I did not want to present it! The game won't let you get out of it though of course. It's a flashback and not presenting it would cause a huge time paradox. <_< ... I'm sorry Phoenix... In the end though, it all works out so yay (well seven years later it all works out... that is seriously depressing).

I find it rather amusing that both Phoenix and Apollo present random "evidence" given to them before they go into court. Both times it was by Trucy. With Phoenix, she was a little girl, and with Apollo, she was a stranger. I know that they're trustworthy, but still.... Were they not even a little suspicious?

To be fair, when Trucy gave Apollo his evidence she mentioned that her "father's fate is now in his hands" so if you put 2 and 2 together, she's the daughter of the defendant and as such might be offering something of use.

...

Of course, that still doesn't make it impossible to willfully manipulate the evidence to work in your favor. But at least he can back you up this time since aside from that incident 7 years before he's not exactly known as an evidence-forging crook.

Yep. I actually just mashed buttons and sped through the entire flashback case cause I knew if I slowed down I'd lose it. :(

Oh, definitely. I tried to NOT present that evidence, but of course, that didn't work. :(

Yeah, it was quite upsetting. Your forced to present it,
Spoiler:
And Klavier just slams the wall, and pauses for 5 seconds as if to mock you.

:wall-bang: Haha! You couldn't stop it, could you?

What really pissed me off was how nobody seemed to question how Klavier was able to so quickly and smoothly "prove" the page was fake.

:phoenix: Take that!

:kyouya: Objection! That page is forged, and I can prove it!

:udgy: Oh?

:kyouya: Hey, old guy I just happened to have waiting in the lobby, is that page forged?

Image Yep.

:udgy: Well, some old guy I've never seen before saying it's fake is proof enough for me! Turn in your badge, Wright!

::agrees with Franzise::

I also find it ironic how :phoenix: doesn't know it's fake but :kyouya: does. But then again if Nick HAD known it was fake he wouldn't have presented it...

But yeah. Having to present the fake evidence really depressed me for some reason. Like, I'm sorry I made you a hobo, Nick! :hobohodo:

I have many yaoi OTPs which overlap... And most of which involve the Gavins.
I do write/support yuri and het from time to time though.

Fransize, if you admit to a crime then they nearly automatically take your confession as genuine if it makes sense. Since Klavier got the guy there, anything he'd say would be taken as the truth as he's a prosecutor. Of course, it wasn't the truth, but the AA games have ALWAYS been like that. It's one of their "one rule for some, one for others" moments. XD

As for the flashback case, since it was a flashback I reasoned my way out of feeling depressed. I'm playing a recreation of what already happened, so it's not me who presented the evidence in the first place. Nick did it by himself, and I had no part in it. It worked pretty well actually ^_^

That's still pretty flimsy reasoning, even for AA. One of the conditions for Drew's "confession" was that he wouldn't be held accountable, so it's not like he would have had anything to lose. If the forged page was taken in for testing or the real page was produced, it'd be a little more believable, but essentially the only proof Klavier gave was the word of a forger he just happened to have on hand. You'd think that would throw more suspicion on the prosecution than the defense.

I'm not saying Phoenix wasn't dumb for showing evidence from an unknown source in the first place, but the whole situation still reeked of a setup and nobody seemed to think anything of it.

Well... it's a bit much to expect Hobo-Phoenix, Apollo, Klavier and Eike Kusch from Shadow of Destiny to arrive from the future and come bursting through the door yelling 'Objection!'
I really am the guy from the Objection! website, y'know! :(

To be fair, Drew is able to produce proof that he created the page (he mentions that he included an extra mark on the page for identification purposes), so even if we don't see it, a quick check of that mark showing up where Drew said it was would reveal the page as a fake. I agree that it looks and smells like a set up, but the judge is really the only one left to question the situation and he's an idiot. Besides, Klavier tells everyone that he was ready because of an "anonymous" tip (we know it was from Kristoph but no one else knows that. For all they know, someone associated with Phoenix squealed on him and there really isn't any reason to challenge that particularly after Phoenix confesses to protect Zak).
