I was just playing Case 4 of AJ, and I was in the 1st court phase when I decided to save and get something. I set my DS on the table and when I came back the game was frozen in the middle of the save! :ack: I shut it off and turned it back on, and the game was frozen at the start screen. I shut off again and this time the DS wouldn't read the cart. Eventually I got the game to load but then it said that my save failed and it wiped away my save for Case 4. :paynehair: Now I have to start over. :sadshoe:
Luckily, it seems I'm allowed to fast-forward through the text I've already read!

Has this happened to anyone else's AJ game or even any of their PW games?

That happened to me in 3-2! I was on the infamous " when you were in a child scene" when I saved. I always set my DS down cart-side first. Maybe that's it or the carts are really cheap...

I've never had it happen to me, but I lent my PW:AA game to someone once and she got that "save file corrupt" thing. I think she turned it off in the middle of a save by accident, though.

Well that's not the case for me, my game was still on when it froze...

Games can freeze if the carts become dislodged, probably due to impact. Sometimes they can just freeze randomly though. My Hotel Dusk cart refused to work for more than 2 minutes one time, but it works fine now and, since it didn't freeze when I saved, my save file was undamaged. Basically, when they save, be VERY careful, as if the connection is interupted while it is re-writing the memory it most likely will be corrupted!

This is why other games need to have backup saves like Pokemon. D:

Certainly don't play on a DS with broken hinges... my friend's DS was like that; you actually had to hold the top screen on or else it would lose the connection and freeze. She was playing 2-4 at the time, and... I don't think we really thought about it, but we were lucky it never froze during a save (not just her, but also myself because it was my game and I couldn't play and save on it until she finished the case).
