So I've been trying to keep myself out of here until finishing the game, but halfway through case 3 I wanted to ask this about case 4-2. Probably already been asked but as said, I haven't been keeping up with the threads! :minuki:

Spoiler:
So Alita shot Pal Meraktis from inside the noodle stand. So... no one spotted a bullet hole in the stand? Seems a weird thing that could be overlooked at the crime scene.


Also why did she take her shoes off in the clinic and swap for sandals? Procedure?

I can't remember why she took the sandals, but for your first question...

Spoiler: Why no bullet hole?
That part of the noodle stand was some sort of tarp or cloth. She would of probably pulled it back to shoot him in the head, so there wouldn't be a bullet hole

Well the title DOES say spoiler, but I've blanked it out anyhows...

I would agree that your answer for #1 is possible if it wasn't for

the b/w diagram at the end showing how the crime was commited, displaying Alita on her hands and knees with one hand firing the gun. And surely if she lifted anything away, then Wocky quite likely would spot her (after all he was facing that side of the stand).

@Mayhem: You need to remember:
Spoiler: 4-2 spoiler
Wocky was dead set on killing Merakits with his knife (or whatever they call it XD). When Stickler told them to stop you can guess that Wocky would have turned to Stickler from fright (I mean- he was just caught attempting first degree murder). That's when Alita shot Merakits. Wocky wouldn't have seen it and Stickler probably didn't assume that somebody could be in the cart so he didn't pay attention to it.

Not to mention it was dark :B

In regards to the sandles to slippers argument; it's about the culture of japan.

Spoiler: sandals
I'm not sure about customs in public buildings, but I do know that in schools they change shoes for indoor and outdoor use. So, here goes.

It's very rude to wear outdoor shoes inside a building, so it's obvious that before she even entered the clinic she would have taken her sandals off and put on the slippers instead.
Of course, Pal tried to strangle her whilst she was in the building (and therefore still had the slippers on) and Pal picked her up and carried her to the noodle stand.

Indeed, that's exactly what I was thinking regarding "procedure"... similar lines as entering a mosque.

Plus, it IS a surgical clinic. Outdoor shoes tracking shit everywhere might not be the healthiest idea.

If only Apollo were as well connected as Phoenix or the prosecutors, then he could order a decisive search that would help his case. (Phoenix wants the grape bottle, Klavier calls for all kinds of things.)

Apollo could just yell "THE DEFENSE REQUESTS AN IMMEDIATE SEARCH OF THE NOODLE STAND FOR POWDER RESIDUE" or something.
