That's right, I am going to cosplay as  , really. So far, everything's going smoothly. I have almost everything I need, exept from one little detail...

Has anyone have any idea where I can get the bottle necklace that Dahlia gave Phoenix? I've been trying to find one around the net but with no result. Click on the spoiler tag below to see the necklace's in-game picture.

Spoiler: The necklace

I'll be happy with any help I can get. I don't care if it's a 3rd rate replica, as long as it looks like the necklace in the game.

Thank you for your time :jake:

Iiiii don't think that's possible unless you had it specially made. Then again, it's not really necessary to have, just auxiliary and impressive.

But if you insist, a generic hollow heart shaped necklace would suffice. You could then drill a 2 mm hole in it, if you can. take a small ziploc bag, and cut it until it can fit in the hole and look decently as though it's the compartment. then, maybe, put some glass in it, and see if it still fits. Tie a not, or find some way to make sure the bag won't fall out, and there's your necklace.

If I may ask, does your sweater say P? Or Ryu?

Right, but I'm afraid I don't have any equipment to do all this. It's not like I didn't understand, but I'm not just...well, handy enough. Do you know where I can ask of this?

It says "P", my girlfriend made it. Ironic, isn't it?

Do you have access to a Michael's or some other art supply store nearby?

I actually found a gold, hollow heart shaped necklace exactly like hers at Michael's, only it didn't have the blue bottle. So I took out the stuff in the middle of the heart and added a clear, blue plastic bead that had the generic shape of the bottle. My boyfriend's dad actually had the materials to drill a hole in the bead and really make it fit to the necklace, but I think some strong glue would do.

That's how I ended up making mine. Sorry if this wasn't clear, I've never given cosplay advice before, to be honest :\

I'll see if I can find a picture and see if it would help any...

EDIT: Here you go. I couldn't find a picture but I just took one really quick with my shitty webcam...

That's AWESOME!!! :will: Maybe not 100% authentic (or whatever it's called), but it's still very good!

I assume you live in the US. Here in Sweden, we don't have a store called that. However, there should be SOME kind of art supply store around here. Though I kinda doubt they have good sh** like that. Even if they had, I doubt I have materials to work with it. Well, ok, MAYBE I know someone who might... Thanks for the tip! :jake:

And I didn't mind you in the background

Thanks!! Yeah, it's not exact, but I think it turned out very well. :)
Ah, I didn't know you were in Sweden! Sorry ^^ (That's pretty awesome!)
But yeah, an art supply store should really help you out. Take a look at their necklaces and see if there's anything you can work with -- or hell, just go out necklace hunting in general XD You might be surprised at what you find.

If you don't have any luck in that respect however, there should be something else at the art supply store you can use. They should have good crafting/sculpting materials that you can buy & use to just sculpt the thing yourself. I hear a material called "sculpey" is good for this, though I've never used it myself. There might even be personnel at the store willing to give tips/suggestions though I might be a little too optimistic about that XD.

Good luck though and I hope you find what you need! Is there a deadline you're trying to finish this by?

Great. Not to be super nit-picky, but the amulet is much thicker than that, and the container is much smaller. That, and the heart itself doesn't have the same luster as Dahlia's.

Like I said. Not exact...
And to be fair, it's not like that's the best quality of picture to be judging luster.

I was just trying to be helpful. ^^;

And you were helpful. I'm just adding my 10 cents (my two cents is free). And no, I didn't draw my conclusion of the luster from the surrounding it. It was from the texture of the material and the background lighting. If your room is that bright, it still wouldn't shine too much.

Look, she was trying to be helpful. It might not be 100% accurate, but it would get the point across in the cosplay. Sometimes you don't have the time, skill, or materials to make it totally accurate so you use what you have until something better comes along. There is no need to be nit picky when someone is offering another user help and admitting her work is not perfect.

It's ok, most people on this site seems to be from the US, anyway. As for a deadline, not really. I was hoping to get it done so I can have it at a convention in january, but if it's not done by then, I can always try next year or something. Regardless, thanks for the help. :jake: Though I doubt I'll get a necklace

Out of curiosity, are you going to cosplay here in Sweden? If so, where? I'm interested in cosplay as well, but I don't know much about conventions. D:

EDIT: Is the convention that you're going to by any chance called UppCon?

The most important thing is that the person in need of help is satisfied, righ? Well, that person is me, and I found her tip VERY helpful! There's no need to be nitpicky. If I had a necklace like that, I'd gladly show it to everyone I meet. Thanks again, ammchan! :jake:

Yes indeed. You're the first one in this site asides from me that seems interested in it.

I have no idea. I'm not informed about that. It was in january last time, though. You can check their official site for that.

Looking at the necklace again, I had an idea... would a perfume miniature bottle work for the bottle? I know some of the higher-end brands of perfume make teeny little bottles which would probably fit in a necklace like that.

A quick glance at eBay shows that people sell miniature perfume bottles which are even smaller, fr dolls' houses and things like that, too. (And they'd probably be lighter than something containing perfume...)

If you want to make it, you can buy thin sheets of blue PVC plastic (its a little thicker than paper but not too much, easily foldable) and fold it together to make your bottle (Play around with paper until you get the shape right). The gold can be clay, air-dry or bake.

Spoiler: This is my Trucey Pendant made with some of that plastic, to give you and idea of how it looks.

Clay from any craft store. Paint with spray paint or acrylic paint.

Ammchan's pendant turned out really nice too, depending how crafty you are that might be a better way to go

I do commissions too if you're inclined to get a really accurate one :godot:
