Torrenting can be useful, but I don't know any sites off the top of my head.
Ironically, Google Videos has a decent selection of anime (which is crap, since all anime has vanished from YT since they bought it out); Azumanga Daioh (my favorite anime), Wolf's Rain, One Piece (if you're into it), Suzumiya Haruhi and more, if you're lucky. Plus the Studio Ghibli movies; Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle and others.
I don't feel particularly good watching stuff illigally like that, but if they made anime accessable in the UK (and no, I don't mean HMV selling DVDs with three episodes on for £20 ($40)), I wouldn't have to.
