So, what are your big things for E3? What did you think was the best press conference? What titles and whatnot are you waiting for?

This...is more or less my press conference reaction.

I don't quite understand your analysis of Sony, from what I heard their press conference was actually fairly promising (haven't watched it yet myself) except for the move to 3D. Do explain.

It just didn't wow me too much. Was altogether unimpressed with it, to be frank...the only thing I liked about it was Portal 2.

Some research tells me that the big deals were LittleBigPlanet2, Gears of War 3, and Portal 2. All 3three of which are extremely strong titles. I think the biggest disappointment this year was Nintendo, I was expecting so much more from the LoZ game. I don't like DKC enough to care about it's revival, but the Kirby game has piqued my interest. Nintendo has been trying too hard for awhile and not owning a 360 I'm not that interested in Microsoft, but I can agree they're putting everything on Natal.

We didn't hear anything on a new Ace Attorney game, but IIRC that's because the developer's working on a new intellectual property. Nothing on a potential DMC 5, either.

I thought Sony's would be better. It wasn't bad, though. Kevin Butler's appearance was cool, Portal 2 was cool, LittleBigPlanet 2 was cool, Infamous 2 looks neat. I don't really care about Twisted Metal or Killzone 3 (though it looked really nice) or Sorcery/PSM.

But I wanted more. I wanted The Last Guardian. It recieved no mention, and that saddens me.

Nintendo's conference was awesome, though. The 3DS is actually captivating me with all of it's awesome titles. And the Wii is finally getting a Kirby game (!!!). Metroid and Zelda look cool, too.

For me I guess. I mean they're beating a dead horse with the Mario game. I'm thoroughly put down by the Zelda game, especially the graphics. I don't like DKC enough to care about it's revival. Aside from that Kirby and Kid Icarus are the only new games that seem to interest. Maybe Epic Mickey, but I've learned to not touch Disney products with a 20ft pole. I'd like to see some more IPs than Metroid Prime 40,000, Mario Super Special Sports Fest Bonanza with Extra Palooza, and Zelda the Quest for More Income. I know I sound like a lot of other people but you can't deny the truth.

So..Because the graphics look funny...You don't like it? Or the series at all anymore? I'm going to guess that you didn't like wind waker either? Sorry...My attitude towards Graphic critics popped up again...

And I can easily deny the truth! It's so easy! Though I do agree with you that they should bring in or revive some of the old Projects...Like a New F-Zero or Custom Robo.....The series that only have 1 game on basically each Nintendo console...

Maybe a New Fire Emblem...And I always liked Luigi's mansion....Hmm...And another Console Star fox...

Also the above Screen shot is true and is full of win.

Eh. Seems like more of a gimmick to me, but I'm a bit of a cynic so that's not my call. But I don't run around dropping money on the next big DS because nintendo makes one every SIX FUCKING MONTHS.

EDIT: Actually Game Over, I did like Wind Waker, but god the graphics were shit. I liked it because of the sidequests, characters, and an OK storyline.

I just don't understand why that Nintendo, when finally have done something really good with the way the series looked since OOT (by this I mean the gorgeous look of TP), they have to backpedal five steps for whatever reason. I can't make any quality calls yet (no one can) but that's one strike in the wrong direction for me.

I explained this in the actual Zelda SS thread but basically: terrible Japanese sales of Twilight Princess = artstyle ditched forever.

More on-topic: this year was absolutely no contest, Nintendo obliterated the competition at E3. The only people not going to be rabidly excited until the next E3 are the people who absolutely loathe all Nintendo titles irrationally.

Woo and yay for everyone else.
Does we even do these things anymore?

Wow.....I'm surprised! I don't meet people who actually play it if they don't like it's graphics. Sorry bout my little rant... :sadshoe:

If they decided to go with the "realistic" graphics of TP it'd look about as good as MH3 - okay, but nothing more. The Wii can't handle graphics as good as PS3 or 360. With cel-shading it looks much smoother. At least it's somewhat realistic, so deal with it plz.

I think this is the best-looking Zelda to date. I love the combination between realistic and cartoony and the backgrounds (the ones we've seen anyway) are gorgeous.

I have to agree that the art style of SS disappointed me, I was really looking forward to a Twilight Princess-ish style. That game looked gorgeous. But this is not saying that I don't like this new style, because I do. I just think that it looks less... mature than what I expected from this. Specially considering the E3 2009 piece of concept art.

Truly the best programmers of our generation.

So... Microsoft made a higher resolution EyeToy.
So... Microsoft ripped off Sony, who, in turn, ripped off Nintendo with their motion control thingy. Is their any way Nintendo ripped off Microsoft this year? Cause that would be awesome.

I'm 25 minutes into the Konami press conference, and... eh. It's looking pretty stale so far. I still have to watch Microsoft and Ubisoft after this one, but at this point I have to agree with what a few others have said: Nintendo's presentation was brilliant. And I'm not an avid fan of Nintendo either, so I think that says a lot. xD The Zelda game reminded me a lot of Dawn of Mana for the PS2.

I like how everyone in America (or over here, or whatever) is complaining about the SS art-style compared to TP. As Velotix mentioned, TP didn't sell well in Japan, so they aren't going to do it again. I think Link looks really bad in SS, but I think everything else looks really good. (...Even if those ogre/piggy/goblin/whatever enemeis are really weird. Also, for the record, WW's graphic style was lovely :3)

I don't care about Microsoft and Sony, so w/e. But about Miyamoto's Kinect reaction... "I'M POUTING." YGOTAS reference. The phrase "I'm pouting" is a bit general so I'm putting it in

The 3DS looks amazing; can't wait to play MGS3 after reading about it in hiimdaisy's comics!! I lol'd at there being Layton 3 and Layton 5 without Layton 4, but w/e. At least (IIRC) they had something about it not being finalized with Layton 5, so hopefully it'll be Mask of Miracles when it comes around to the English release (or Miracle Mask).

At least the DS isn't region-locked, meaning I can get Last Window as soon as I learn Japanese :3
