The only disappointment for me was the lack of cutscenes at certain moments. The Awakening wasn't as bad since it was still represented with visuals and music but other parts had music for those scenes removed since they don't sync anymore, which really does kill the impact of certain scenes. The visual novel style could have worked better since games like Wild Arms XF and Blazblue make great use of it but P3P wasn't bad at all.

Which scenes are you talking about? Everything seems pretty much the same to me, except the fact that the Command Room recordings now have background music--that one I noticed. Then again, I'm currently at October so... yeah. Haven't seen everything yet.

It's mainly scenes like The Moonlight Bridge scene with Aigis+Ryoji and the scene that was on graduation day. The total lack of music in those scenes just sucked the energy right out of them, even if the scene wasn't shown in anime cutscenes. They could have at least looped the music somehow or made new music that doesn't have to be synced :/.

I'm not a big fan of Hidetoshi but I've been seeing complaining on different boards about that. Maybe he's just not the relationships kind of guy? I dunno. o3o You could always say he likes MShe but was too shy/proud/etc. to confess out or something. I haven't maxed that particular Social Link so I can't really give a first-hand opinion.
@fatalfeline- I didn't get that impression, but I'm at like... rank 4. Does the dialogue change at all compared to MC? And yeah, I was disappointed you get no lovers path for Junpei as well. He's a real sweetheart. <3 But at the very least

Edit: So you can become lovers with Ken. I don't know but something seems just... wrong with that. :| Especially since you can also be with Shinji. AND Akihiko. Kinda awkward.

I think they did a stellar job with the ending; better than how the PS2 version presented it, in my opinion. I could better understand everything that went on. But I agree with Robin that they could've done with music during the Ryoji+Aigis scene, even if it were just some subtle static in the background.
Anyhoo, I'm off to get started on The Answer (urrrgggh more grinding) so I can finally get on with my Shinji playthrough. <3

Yeah, Aigis's is very...interesting. VERY interesting.
As for Liz's as Mshe, there's a few lines but then it gets waved away as 'friendship'.

No anime and you get to move around like in AA. You're on this board meaning you must have played and liked AA so what wrong with the visual novel style of moving? I hardly move much around the school anyway. I mostly go straight to the dood who "warps" you. Though I hate talking to him before exam week ><.

And while I admit missing the cutscenes, they're mostly just at the very beginning (and I assume the end) of the game anyway. The only one I felt was a huge loss was Orpheus' awakening.
Really the major reasons you'd get P3P over FES are to have Persona on the go and to play the female main. Otherwise, yeah, I'd go with FES.

Portability, improved battle system, and the ability to set your PSP on sleep mode anywhere (including Tartarus--you're going to wish you had this option in the console, trust me) are pretty darn good trade-offs, though. Not to mention more alternate costumes, Vision Quest, new social links via the female route...
I assume you're only interested in the male route, which doesn't change much compared to FES, so getting that one instead was a practical move. And FES has The Answer, which is cool. I guess it's just a matter of whether you want to take the game along with you anywhere you go or not? I enjoy the game both ways, as a male and female protagonist, plus everything I listed above, so I thought P3P was well worth the money. <3

Also Yukari and Junpei are still using their Toy Bow and Spiked Bat for similar reasons. Not that I'm using Junpei much; I'm TRYING, but it's hard to justify when Koromaru outclasses him with fire and Shinjiro outclasses him in pure physical power (and doesn't carry a weakness).

In any case, it didn't feel quite as good at first, but I've really been getting into it, especially with all the improvements they've made for the female's story. (MALE SEES S.LINKS, YES. Oh, and gameplay too. Yeah. That.)
It's still a bit hard to judge; since sometimes I feel like the visual novel presentation doesn't hinder the story at all, and then some scenes I really liked better in FES.
I feel like the "perfect" P3 is somewhere in between FES and P3P, y'know? XD Like, FES's presentation maybe, with P3P's improved gameplay and female storyline. P3P's portability is awesome too! I love being able to take it anywhere with me.

And yes new S-Links are super. I always thought it was kind of weird in the original P3 how you couldn't buddy up with the other SEES guys, and I'd much rather listen to Junpei being a goof than Kenji talking about how badly he wants to tap his teacher.
