Takarazuka Revue Will Present Third Show in the "Ace Attorney" Series
- Cosmos Troupe will perform the latest version of shows
using Takarazuka's first collaboration with a game -

Capcom Co., Ltd. (Capcom) is pleased to announce that the Takarazuka Revue will present a stage production of "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney 3" in January 2013.

In the "Ace Attorney" game series, players take on the role of a defense attorney who fights for the lives of his clients. The first game in the series was released in October 2001, and since then, this popular courtroom battle series has gone on to ship over 4.3 million units worldwide (as of June 30, 2012). Capcom has also used this game for mobile phone games, comic books, character goods and other products. "Ace Attorney" has also been used for a live-action movie and a concert by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. All of these activities have been very successful.

Takarazuka Revue, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2014, has decided to present a stage show of the latest title in the "Ace Attorney" series in 2013. In 2009, Takarazuka Revue presented "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" and "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2", recording total attendance of more than 50,000. The two "Ace Attorney" shows were very successful as the first tie-up between Takarazuka Revue and a game. Furthermore the shows attracted many people who would not normally see a Takarazuka show and raised awareness of games among people who would normally not play games.

As for prior "Ace Attorney" shows, the Takarazuka Cosmos Troupe will perform the show and Kei Suzuki will do the script and staging. The show will star Hiro Yumi, who played the role of the rival in the previous productions. This time, the plot is completely different than in the previous two shows that feature the activities of a talented attorney. "Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney 3" is a new story featuring a cool and clever prosecutor named Miles Edgeworth (Reiji Mitsurugi in Japanese). The story gives the "Ace Attorney" series an entirely new type of appeal.

As always, we at Capcom will continue to pursue our Single Content Multiple Usage strategy by making advancements on new hardware to maximize sales while leveraging our brands to bring maximum satisfaction to as many of our users as possible.

I see AA3 which implies T&T but the title implies AAI, got me curious now

It's the third musical, ergo...

Indeed, it's the 3rd musical, which will be based on AAI apparently (or at the very least, on Edgeworth's character).

Even though I'm pretty excited about this, I can't help but feel quite disheartened, as : it'll never be available outside Japan, don't even think about any English subtitles, and the DVD won't be available on any website that ships overseas, so yeah... it'll be ultra expensive, a pain the Butz to get, and won't be available on any streaming website anyway, due to the extreme paranoia Takaruzuka have about foreigners who can't even purchase their DVD being able to watch their shows on YT.

But anyway, I'm quite looking forward to this one (even though I was only able to see a few tidbits of the two previous shows). I have to admit, I wasn't expecting them to do a third one!

-_- <--- My face when I realized this is just a musical. Not that they're bad... but I never get to see them and I'd much prefer announcements related to the games. If Capcom can spend this money on musicals, merchandise, and even get a movie, why in the world can't they just give us a little news update about any games every once in awhile. AAI2 has been out in Japan for a long time now, and still no update on GS5. I wonder if they're even working on it. It's 2007 all over again. -.-

Now that my pessimism is over, good to see an AAI stage production.

I'm excited! I liked the first two... well, the parts I saw. And one based on Edgeworth can only get even better. :)

This is pretty interesting. Also interesting they skipped GS3, eternally since this was called 3.
I wonder if Edgeworth will get some non-canon girlfriend, since the PW ones both seemed to involve a romance plot with people never seen in the games.

I don't know much about the musicals, other then I don't think the second one had anything to do with GS2. I think this is another origional play.

I don't quite remember the plot for the second musical, but there was Franziska and Edgeworth.
But yeah, for this third one, there won't be Ranju Tomu in it... *sigh* :larry: :larry:
