If I had to pick just one character? Zak Gramarye, even though the entire Gramarye family sans Thalassa are jerks (in my heart of hearts, I consider Trucy and Apollo, especially Trucy, to be Wrights ahaha). Zak's harebrained scheme to flee and spare himself and get an innocent lawyer disbarred and his daughter orphaned was ridiculous. The only good it served was some amazing character development for Phoenix, showing that even when he himself had lost absolutely everything else he had the charity of heart to take Trucy in and be a father for her.

And then Zak comes back seven years later with his nose in the heavens with another shitty plot to try and ruin Phoenix's source of income that's supporting the daughter he abandoned. Good god.

It made me really happy to see one Hobo-Phoenix RPer on tumblr one time responding to an ask, 'What if Zak came back and wanted Trucy back after all those years?', and said RPer gave what I consider to be an amazing, IC, and utterly badass response:

:hobohodo: : It's not that simple. He'd have to go through the proper court proceedings and paperwork...

:hoboleft: : ...and through me.

ahhh sorry to gush but it just blew me away and made me so happy. Phoenix and Trucy make an amazing father/daughter unit and I love what they do for each other, perhaps because I've always been a bit of a daddy's girl myself, ahaha. <3

Aww yeah Phoenix-daddy is the best. Zak is such a jerk. I'm fine with the guy fleeing the courtroom and yes abandoning his daughter (better than him being falsely charged of murder --->death sentence) BUT why the hell does he come back after all those years to try and beat Phoenix at poker? So what if he beat you all those years ago, Zak? The man is looking after :minuki: not to mention Phoenix is trying to implement a new jurist system probably with the intentions of bringing Zak's case back to the courtrooms. If Zak had waited a while longer it might have been possible for this new system to prove his innocence.

I only played all of AJs cases once, but correct me if I'm wrong...
During the MASON system, doesn't Zak say that he appears at that point, before he disappears "forever" and they mention that his literal deadline is approaching? As in, very soon, the day of his trial and disappearance would be exactly 7 years and he could be legally declared dead.

Even if he had waited, well, by then he would've been legally declared dead and Phoenix even somehow managing to clear his name via another trial would've been pointless.

It's funny because most of the characters that seem to get a lot of hate on here (Meekins, Iris, Godot, Oldbag, Larry, Lotta) are characters that I found to be quite entertaining. In fact, I may get a lot of hate from the female members here, but Godot remains one of my favorite characters from the entire series.

Oh, and I also forgot to mention, Dr. Hotti is just awful.

Is Godot hated that much? That would surprise me, I thought he had quite the fanbase. He's one of my fav's too.
I do like Lotta and sometimes Larry, but not so much the others.

Reading through here, it seems as a lot of females seem to dislike him because he comes off as sexist and arrogant. I suppose I can see how one can think that because of some of his comments towards Mia during 3-4, but I never really found him sexist at all. Yeah, he was arrogant, but honestly I just thought that made him that much more of a badass. I love how he was the only one who wasn't afraid of Furio Tigre.

Meekins is a guilty pleasure for me. I just can't help but get a laugh out of every time he uses his megaphone. I can see how he would annoy some, but I get a kick out of him personally.

Godot's comments in 3-4 weren't that bad. In 3-5, when he basically tells Franziska to be a good woman-of-the-old-days and shut her trap and let 'the big boys do the work now' that is definitely a sexist thing to say. Plus, how dare he say something like that to Franziska?

Eh, not being scared by Furio is nothing special.

But he IS one of the few characters to actually attack the main cast. Hitting Phoenix and then going into a tussle with Gumshoe (unfortunately off screen) so who knows he might not be all bark and no bite (assuming you aren't the daughter of a mob boss).

Actually, he doesn't hit Phoenix. HE MAKES JEAN ARMSTRONG HIT PHOENIX FOR HIM.
So yeah, he is all bark and no bite.

He hits Jean Armstrong though yeah? And he does fight Gumshoe who is a arguably more threatening person than Phoenix.

Edit: After watching the video it seems more likely they both beat on Phoenix (he doesn't say 'Get im Jean' or anything like that instead indicating that Phoenix is outnumbered before they beat him up). Also Gumshoe himself was unnerved by Tigre's aggression when he confronted him.

Tigre does beat up Phoenix. After being hit, Phoenix mumbles something like "he hit me..." and then refers to the same "him" when he mentally kicks himself for letting Tigre take the medical papers.

I can see how that comes off as 'sexist', but I just kinda saw it as an extension of what Pearl told her. I mean, no one gets mad that Pearl told Franziska that she's "a scared little girl without her whip" because she's a 9 year old girl, but if a male character had told her that everyone would be screaming "SEXIST PIGGGG!!!!!!" So I dunno, I just didn't see Godot's comments as sexist, but more "You're just a mediocre rip-off of your father who uses your whip to overcompensate, so shut the hell up" (Speaking from Godot's point of view). Just my personal opinion. Honestly, I can almost picture Mia telling her the same thing, though probably not quite the same wording.

Well, obviously Tigre doesn't scare me or you because we know he's not the 'badass' he makes himself out to be, but in the game he's portrayed as a rather intimidating character. Though that said, I can't imagine any prosecutor (except for Winston Payne and maybe Edgeworth) showing him any fear. Plus, Gumshoe went toe to toe with him although like Pierre said, we was 'unnerved' by him a bit. A shame the game never really states who won their little tussle, though Gumshoe appears the next day unscathed so I guess it wasn't that bad of a fight. I guess only 'meek' characters like Phoenix, Maya, and The Judge are designed to be scared of him.

Spoiler: 3-5 The following contains Iris bashing, if you know the following will offend you, please don't bother to click this
Before I played the Pheonix Wright series, the character Dahlia Hawthorne interested me, but I was also shocked to find out she was a villian. And when I clicked on a random part of a T&T there was a girl who looked like the spilting image of Dahlia named Iris. I thought, "Oh my! Dahlia escaped from prison and changed her hair color and name"...Boy was I wrong.
Playing T&T again is making really dread having to see Iris again, since I know she helped her sister regardless of the fact that she's dead and probably queen of the underworld right now. And you guys are probably thinking, "Emiko, you're a Phoenix/Maya shipper but Maya is annoying and keeps giving Phoenix trouble since she keeps getting kidnapped." Well Iris helping out her demoness sister wasn't a very smart move on her part, and her sister backstabbed her and locked her in the channeling chamber of the training hall. And then you guys would probably think, "Well Maya wouldn't of gotten kidnapped if she stayed in the hotel lobby like she was supposed to." But the way I see it Shelly De Killer would have kidnapped her regardless because he seemed to know Phoenix's weakness.
And I said it once and I'll say it again, I don't know why Phoenix/Iris gets so much hype.

Well now, I find Iris to be a bit of a boring character - the typical Yamato Nadeshiko, all submissive and quiet and does as she's told. So while I agree with things in your post, I also disagree with them.

Spoiler: Regarding Iris in 3-5
I agree with your first bit. Before they pulled the painful Twin thing, I figured Dahlia had escaped prison and dyed her hair. I also thought very early on that there were "two" Irises. The first one we see being real, the second being Maya channeling her... I was kinda right about that.

Anyhow, Iris actually didn't help Dahlia at all in 3-5. Granted, she had some sort of role to play in the fake kidnapping when they were 14 - but we don't know what that role was and she never did what she was supposed to, anyway.
So when Godot came and told her about the plan, Iris agreed to help Godot. She was just supposed to take the blame if something went wrong - which it did. But whatever. Anyway, she wasn't helping Dahlia. And the reason she got locked into that cave was because she ran there because she thought Maya was in trouble. (Again, but I won't go into that...)
So when Maya-Dahlia locked her in, she probably realized what had happened, but she was incapable of doing anything. She never helped Dahlia in the case of 3-5... okay, she helped play Dahlia to try and get a necklace back from Phoenix, but that was a different case...

Spoiler:
She helped Dahlia by not yelling out that Dahlia had locked her in the cave, which she presumably could have easily done when you were in the inner temple with the fake Iris. She also indirectly made it take longer to figure out what was going on by not admitting early on that she was Dahlia's twin.

Okay, I don't want to shove everything into a spoiler warning again, so I'm writing it outright.
Here are spoilers for 3-5 in case somebody hasn't finished that case yet!

Iris wouldn't even tell Phoenix that she was the one dating him five years ago, you really think she would've told him that? Also, when Dahlia grabbed Iris and threw her into the cave, it is possible that she hit her head and lost conscious. Even if it was for a few minutes.

...I was gonna say, you think Phoenix would've believed Iris if she had said that the Iris in front of him was not the real one, but then I remembered that Phoenix is freaking naive and would believe anything.

If he saw two of them at the same time, it would certainly raise suspicion. At that point he could just ask "are you Dahlia" with the magatama.

He could do that. But it's been established that the Magatama doesn't really work as a lie detector.
It reacts to a secret in somebody's heart.
Case 2-4: "Did you kill him?" and Matt says, he "didn't kill him. Nor anyone else". Which isn't a lie and, since it didn't involve anything with his secret that he really, really wanted to keep hidden, the Magatama didn't react.
Case 3-5: "Are you Dahlia?" if Phoenix had asked that and Iris had said, "No, I am not" the Magatama wouldn't have reacted. If Dahlia said she is not Dahlia.... well, she'd be lying. Would the Magatama pick it up? Theoretically not, if Dahlia wasn't trying to keep her identity a huge secret.
And that didn't really become important until she entered court as "Iris".

That's a good point. I'm not scared of him because I know he's just a coward, but really, if I were at the park, looking at a battered old scooter, and all of a sudden a large, sunburnt man with filed teeth and openly aggressive vocabulary started shouting at me, I'd at least be somewhat scared.

Spoiler: GS4: HoboPhoenix(non spoilerish on this one)
he was forced into AJ against the writer's wish for the sake of fanservice and prevented us to see what it would be like to have an actual AJ game. He also stole the spotlight in some cases too.

Spoiler: GK1 -major spoilers ahead-
Calisto Yew.

My reason: Badd and Lang. It's obvious to why Badd, after his little niece got separated from him was heart breaking, Badd hates people so not only Yew "backstabbed" him after occasionally rubbing the first KG8 in his face when she could, she also took away the only family from him. Not only that after case 5 Kay was now working for Edgeworth, Badd was left alone and without a happy ending either. Getting arrested was the second reward he got for chasing after his partner's killer for 7 years and watching over his niece from afar, that made me really upset to think about it. *Kicks dirt*

As for Lang he trusted her with all his might yet he got backstabbed by none other than a member of the smuggling ring he was chasing after all this time, he probably hated myself afterward to have let her get away for so long and not notice. Not a very good material he could use to restore his family's honor.

But to her defense, she was meant to be a villain so I thought she did a pretty good job at making me hate her.

I was referring to Kay because she used to always call him Uncle Badd when she was little(well she still does), I should have been more specific there. :edgy:

Oh, okay, so we're kind of on the same idea here.
I sort of had a feeling, but I was worried I might've missed something.

:kyouya: cause reasons. Glimmerous disbarring-for-forged-evidence foppish reasons.

Spoiler:
I know that he was fooled by Kristoph and that it wasn't really his fault, but I just. Don't. Like him as a person. Or the way he acts.

Well now, it wasn't really his fault that Phoenix was disbarred.
And neither was it Kristoph's.
It was Phoenix' fault for being an idiot and presenting something that he had been handed randomly shortly before the trial by a complete stranger.

I Know :/ I have to disagree about Kristoph though, since he's the one who set him up in the first place.

Klavier being fooled so easily is what I hate about him. Think for a minute. Kristoph walks into Klavier's office in the middle of the night NOT LIKE THAT the day before the trial, tells him that he won 't be the attorney anymore, but a new, untrustworthy attorney will take his place and informs him of 1. the forged piece of evidence 2. the forger who was requested and 3. EXACTLY how to expose the forgery in court. Wouldn't he stop to think for one second that Kristoph should not know all that if he isn't hiding anything?
And after that trial, Klavier did nothing to follow up. He never talked to the forger, the former-attorney or his brother about it. He only convinced himself that Nick was a fraud and thought he could just live on as if he was absolutely correct. So much for the truth-seeking prosecutor...
As for personality, I found this somewhere on the forums:
Quote:
--Haha, Wocky's going to die, isn't that FUNNY? LMAO.
--Resorts to insulting Apollo's physical features and calling him names almost immediately.
--Attitude towards Detective Skye is a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen.
--Talks about how much he cares for the truth, but doesn't actually care enough to do anything, other than wait for Apollo to find the truth and pretend like it was his idea all along.
--Doesn't share information with the detectives on investigations; purposefully withholds relevant information that could affect the case until the moment when Apollo figures it out anyway (ALL THE TIME in 4-3)
--Offers Alita Tiala an alibi when she didn't know how to explain why she left her shoes in Meraktis Clinic.
--Shows more emotion when his bandmate misses a note on-stage than finding out his brother and his best friend are murderers COMBINED.
--Tries to coerce Spark Brushel into lying on the witness stand by offering him exclusive rights to the story.

Edit:

Yes, because the guy who set everything up for Nick to lose his badge had nothing to do with it.If you didn't catch on to my sarcasm, bite me

Klavier, you are doing it wrong.

It's pretty funny because if you ask around not a lot of people will tell you that they noticed that. I kinda wish Apollo would have pointed it out.

Me too. Ugh, I hate Klavier. >_>

...Actually, I hate every main character in AJ, except Apollo.

Ouch even Phoenix and Trucy? XP

Trucy reminded me of Ema back when she was adorable and light-hearted except Trucy is smarter and has a more interesting skillset.

I didn't like the noodle guy in Apollo Justice. Something about him annoyed me haha. Wendy Old bag! She's a pain to cross examine and she shows up in like almost every game!
I think something clever is suppose to go here....

I'm pretty sure I posted a long time ago that Regina was my most hated character. But I think :hotti: deserves much more hate.

Everything about him is just downright unpleasant! And for some reason, he changed his name to Hickfield and made the most pointless cameo in the entire series in 4-2.

"Oh Maya? Edgeworth? Franziska? Pfffffft! Forget those boring characters! Let's put in that creepy pink-haired guy who likes touching little girls!"
