I believe I have made it quiet clear a few times that I have no friends and the closest relatives in Germany are in Traunstein, which is already a good way out of the way. And my two female cousins living there are only 6 and 4 years old.
And I hate wearing skirts. Plus, this is Germany and it's October. Germany is getting pretty cold and I don't have "winter" skirts. So wearing skirts is out of question as well.

I'm bothered because it's a horrible song made by the same people that produced "hits" such as Friday and Thanksgiving. I feel it's a bit offensive with its portrayal of Chinese culture, and the fact that it gives off a strong pedophile vibe with the black panda man.

Graggh I'll kill you for showing me another 'Friday' monstrosity!

Actually, from what I've heard, Justin Bieber has made it on the best sellers list multiple times so far. It makes me weep that he's one of the most recognizable musicians from our country, instead of someone who actually has talent.

I may know his name and maybe recognize him when someone shows me a pic of him. But ask me to name one of his songs or whatever he does? No freaking clue. Then again, same can be said for practically any music these days in the western market, I have lost touch with it.

Ugh, I'm having a rough week. It's intriguing how some people find reasons to complain about me even when I do NOTHING. Today a teacher called me and said she wasn't liking my "sarcastic smile" (!!)
Seriously, what the hell? Is she the thought police or something?

Hehe, reminds me of 10th Grade. I was just sitting there, all quiet and I smirked and teacher told me off, saying I should shut up and I could smile once I get a job with my grades. (My grades were good, just not in math) What did I do?
Told her that I apologize if my smile seemed rude to her, but she can't tell me to shut up if I hadn't said anything. Shut her up fast enough.

I'm just completely fed up with about everything at the moment. I'm up for hours doing homework and the assignments just keep flooding in. There's too much shit to do and no time to do it all. I feel like garbage every single day, I'm lonely, I have no friends, and every day just makes me feel more depressed. If anyone's seen my previous posts here, they'd know that I've never been truly happy for years. It seems that my life just gets worse and worse. And the ironic part is, my life is easy at this point. I can't wait to see what kind of jobless deadbeat I turn out to be.

Luckily for you, school is your past. School sucks... Fortunately, I'm in my last school year now but I've been a trouble magnet since I was 12, specially with teachers. For some reason, I don't get along with most of them... CAN'T WAIT to graduate!

Today I had another problem with my local bonsai club. First, it took like 1 month till they receive my check and send my member card. second, now I just had a call about my inscription, which I sent 1 month ago. Said something about that I can't take course 2 if I hadn't course 1. I know it's super logic, but I saw the program for course 1 and I know everything about it. I have the feeling that I will waste my time there, but I can't go to any workshop if I haven't it... Seriously it suck. On one part, I want to know more about bonsai and meet people, but on the other hand I don't want to pay 140$ for a full week end of thing that I already know...

Suck...

My biggest grammar pet peeve is when people use "said" as a noun after dialogue
for example:

"This sandwich is delicious!" :yummy:
Said prosecutor then proceeded to take another bite of his delectably delectable ham sandwich."

ARGH this annoys me to no end :zap:
I know that it's "acceptable" to use, but I've never seen nor heard it used like this prior to 2-3 years ago except in terrible fanfiction. Where did it come from? Why does it annoy me so?

Am I the only one out there that finds this unbelievably irritating? :eh?:

Oh! Oh! What about the use of "feel" as a noun? Doesn't it just piss you off? :redd:

"This game gives me the feels."
"I want to get a feel for this car, [before driving my friends around in it]."
"I liked the feel of the earrings' weight."
"Your prosthetics did have an enchanting feel to them." <- Sebastian, why!?

GRAH!! I just explode whenever I read that! Everywhere I go, everybody says it's acceptable to use, because I don't fucking know, I haven't seen a single dictionary or grammar book that officially tells me that feel, a fucking verb, can be used with the identical writing as a noun.

Guys! We have a noun that has the indication of feeling something... it's called fucking feelING. The feeling of love. The feeling of the wind blowing through my hair. The fucking feeling of weight!

God, don't you guys ever say out LOUD what you write? Just try it. Whenever I do that, when I say "This gives me the feels" my skin just crawls! FeelING, guys! FeelING! That's a noun. Feel is a verb. Get it right!

...you should probably look up more dictionaries, because feel is definitely both a verb and a noun in the English language.

I agree with you that the usage of feel in this one is pretty bad, but your other examples are grammatically correct. Feel is indeed a noun as well as a verb, as Ash said. It can be used to describe a texture when put with adjectives like "soft" or "rough" or when used in the sense of saying "the feel of xxx" and can also be used as describing a vague mental image or in terms of getting accustomed to something, such as the usage of "getting a feel for xxx". It's also used it terms of fondling, in lack of a better example, such as "copping a feel."

Now I do hate when the word feel is used when feeling seems more appropriate and would sound more correct. For example, instead of saying "all those feels", I would much rather say "all those feelings". The former just gets on my nerves and it's something that I see much more commonplace on the internet whereas the latter seems to be much more common in everyday usage.
On April 3, 2016, Court Records Forums experienced a miracle upon that day.

I think the "noun" in question here is the word "feels", not "feel".

No-one was debating "feels" isn't gramattically correct, just that the other examples Cat listed were perfectly fine, having nothing to do with the internet.

Oh, and as for said, the example you used doesn't make sense, its usage would be more like:

"There is a certain prosecutor whom I once knew, long ago. Said prosecutor would always wear red."
Which sounds a bit clunky sice I can't come up with anything better out of context, but you get the idea. And I've seen it used like that far more than just in bad fanfiction (even good fanfiction I hardly ever read). It's probably the bad fanfiction that's getting you irritated over it. And it' s been around much longer than two or three years, though I can't think of any specific examples, I know I've read it used that way in novels.

"Said prosecutor" is correct, if it is used in a way that it is referring to a certain prosecutor. It's just a different way of saying "That (certain/one) prosecutor"

On the subject of grammar, I can't stand it when people use the word "irregardless". The word "regardless" means that something isn't worth regarding, so putting the prefix "ir" in front of it means what, that it's worth regarding again? People say this and think they're being so intelligent, when really they're just being stupid.

On the thing about "said", I kind of see it like a word to use when you've already explained something and so explaining it again would be redundant, or if it's obvious what is being referred to.

For example:

"Edgeworth's the best prosecutor I know, but he can never beat me," Phoenix explained to Maya. Said prosecutor looked up and scowled.

It's just another way of writing that can change things up a little. Saying "Edgeworth" twice would have been acceptable but personally, I would have used the above sentence as it doesn't seem quite as boring.

People on YouTube are all morons. I thought people on the Skyward board were morons, but the people on YouTube are worse! And I thought that was hard to be! Okay, so today and yesterday, I commented on some of the Nostalgia Critic's videos.

For example, on his Old VS New: Lord of the Rings, he asked how that would work with Frodo's swordwound - if it works its way to his heart, he becomes one of the Ring Wraiths? Now, I have tried to read the books, but gave up as I just couldn't get into them - I might try again later. But my comment/answer was that the whole swordwound thing is a fantasy thing he made up, after all, he came up with the LotR idea during the war, so that was his way of escaping the harshness of reality and get to a 'safe place' that wasn't as bad.
Some moron thinks he has to point out that the Critic was simply making a joke about Frodo being a Ring Wraith would look hilarious, because he's so short. For one, I freaking knew that. For another, my comment had nothing to do with that! Critic wondered how the Swordwound thing would work, I basically said, "Don't think about it too hard, it was crap he made up to cope with reality" and that's that.

On his Last Airbender movie review, Critic criticized that in the movie, it takes 5 to 6 Earthbenders to throw one head-sized rock at someone, while he played clips of what one Earthbender could do, ie. split the ground up very far.
I pointed out that the Earthbenders in the show can't be that strong, either, if he points out that one Earthbender can crack the fucking ground up when it requires at least 3 to lift one tank. I would think if one Earthbender can crack the ground, he'd be capable to lift a tank all by himself.
This led to somebody commenting four times onto my comment what a fucking moron I was for liking the movie version.
1. I never said that! I don't care about that fucking movie or the show.
2. LEARN TO TAKE SOME FUCKING CRITICISM!!

And OmG that motherfucking comment I made on the Majora's Mask - Zora Mask video!
Okay, get this, I wrote that SEVEN MONTHS AGO. SEVEN Months. That's over half of a year. And I was pretty emotional in that, I reacted to Mikau's death and went off on how stupid that scene is, that it is not sad in the least and that Fi's death was much better done.
So people are STILL responding to that with stuff like, "You are stupid for not thinking this death is sad" and, lately, a ton of versions of "Fi didn't die." Okay, please, tell me: Eternal Slumber. Consciousness fading. That sounds like fucking death to me.
Somebody even pointed out that Fi wasn't dead, she was simply 'the seal to Demise'.
In which case I responded like this...!

Spoiler: Persona 3 Spoilers
It's basically like the deal with the protagonist of Persona 3, using himself as a seal to prevent Nyx's coming. You know what happened to him? HE FUCKING DIED!!

Gawd, stupid fans who can't deal with it when somebody points out a flaw in something they like.
And yes, I like stuff, and I may have a counterargument when somebody points out a flaw in something I like, but I can easily see why they think it's a flaw or why it bothers them.

It's the internet. Most people on the internet don't seem to know the meaning of the word "opinion". I once stated on a deviantart comments section that I liked the 3d Sonic games more than the 2d ones, and everyone attacked me, calling me an idiot who wouldn't know a good game if it bit me, saying that the only good sonic games were the first 3, saying that I was stupid for liking his new design more than his old one. I never got why so many people were pissed that his eyes were green and his spines were too long. Big. Woop. The Sonic fanbase is probably the second worst fanbase, next to the Call Of Duty fanbase, but I digress. My point is, no matter where you go on the internet, most of the people you meet are idiots.

Sonic fanbase is just indecisive and divided amongst themselves, they don't know WHAT they want. I quite like most of Sonic's games, 2D and 3D so it can be awkward discussing it in places.

I am a lot more open and even aggressive at times on the internet, but I would expect at least some restraint. Or at least the use of some logic. Ok, I'll admit it. I'm envious.
Yesterday was my sister's 18th birthday (she's technically my cousin, but we see each other as sisters and call each other like that because we grew very close) and she gained a car. A fucking car.
I never thought I could be envious at someone only because of something stupid like that. I'm really, really ashamed. Thankfully I'm not the type of person that treats someone badly because they're feeling envious, so I'll just try to relax and eventually I'll forget about that.

Yeah, don't let it bother you too much. I can relate to how you are feeling, since I worked part-time from when I was 15 until 19 and saved up all these years to buy a nice car. 3 years later I still drive this car and I'm quite happy with it.
Now I have a younger cousin (exactly 3 years younger) and her (biological)dad is listed in the top 500 richest people in the Netherlands. forget working, she got a car that was 5 times more expensive than mine without lifting one finger.

Life just isn't fair sometimes.

Be glad that you even have a car. I turned 16 a few weeks ago, but it could be months, or even years, until I take any driving courses. I just don't have the time. Hell, BUYING a car is damn near impossible. With my parents being divorced and my father being the only one in the family to support us, we're barely getting by as is. I'll never be able to afford a car for a very, very long time. And depending on where I live (like a large urban city with lots of public transportation), I might not even need one.

I know how you feel, THP, I'm 18, yet I don't have a licence. I have to go with my parents, who borrow my uncle's car, which only my Dad is allowed to drive, which means we're never able to go anywhere without my dad. None of us make enough money to afford one, so I don't see the point in getting a licence.

I'm still going to get my license because driving is a life-long skill that's everyone should know, especially in the 21st century. Even if I'll never be able to afford a car, I still want the knowledge of being able to drive one.

Well excuse me for being a 23 year old woman who doesn't have a license, nor the desire to actually get one. Mostly because I cannot afford a car of my own, also have no money to get a license and overall I don't need a car. I know that it's different in America, where the public transport system sucks, but here in Germany I can get to pretty much anywhere I want to via public transport.
Even if I got a car, it'd be standing around 99% of the time.
And the one percent time it would be used, would be to buy a ton of big shopping with my mom, like bags of kitty litter, juice boxes and all that.

It's still an important thing to learn. But if you don't want to, no one's forcing you.

Of course nobody's forcing me to learn to drive.

I still wonder why it's seen as such an important thing. As I said, I can see why having a license, and maybe your own car, in America is important as the places I have been to are so layed out that it takes you a good 20 minutes to get to the closest shop. But overall, if you are in a place that doesn't require you in any way to actually know how to drive, why is it "important"?

That's like saying diving is important to learn, but nobody forces you to do it.

To me, it's like learning how to swim. You might not live in a place that's near water, but it's still an important skill to learn. If you're put into a kind of situation that requires driving, whatever that may be, that's when it comes in handy.

And for all you know, you could one day move to a place that does require driving.

Of course. But if you are in an area where public transport is good or there are no lakes, no ocean or even a lot of swimming pools around, where neither driving or knowing how to swim/dive is actually important and you know you aren't gonna be moving anywhere soon, you may as well not do it.

As I said, if I got myself a driver's license right now, it'd make no difference. It would be in my wallet and collect dust there.
