Ah sweet nostalgia, I always liked that guy, it's easy to dismiss him because of how silly he is normally but yeah the characters get some really deep arcs and they are all pretty great at the end.

Also that thing about you gaining real power by the end game? Totally true and it feels awesome, also all the sidequests to get ultimate weapons and limit breaks. A true joy :kristoph:

Thanks for the input everyone! Despite not playing many RPGs, I really think I'm going to enjoy this game. Sjibbey's comment about how the characters draw you in more than the plot is making me rather excited to get further in it. My favorite stories always focus on interesting and well developed characters, which a big part of why Ace Attorney has become one of my favorite game series.

Don't forget the music. I say this as a music buff, FF7's music truly is beautiful, and I think it adds to game even more so than the character and story does.

Aw, sweetheart, no need to give me the PS3 version of XIII, I already imported it~
Unless that's the English version, in which case, return that to Gamestop. :gant:

Son of a whorebag, that motherfucking rollercoaster-shooting ride, you stupid fuck, I hate that stupid thing, it should burn! */angrish yelling*
I don't remember how often I tried, but the sole reason I did was to try and get the Beach Umbrella weapon for Aerith... because Zack used an umbrella in Crisis Core. I read that, later on, you get Omnislash for that same ride, but I kinda never made it that for, nor did I ever feel like getting it. (Wait, if I don't get Omnislash, how does the Ending work out?)
Also, getting some of the limit breaks was insane. For Aerith, you had to find this Mythril thingy, I think. And then find this one random person out in the middle of nowhere... and ONLY talk to him when your encounter was a Schnapszahl. And then... I forget. Couldn't really be bothered getting it after a while.

Although I remember doing the Wutai sidequests once very early, for the sake of getting points with Yuffie for the Golden Saucer Date... it was not worth it. Even if she's the only one that actually gives him a peck.

:Hoboright: ....

I don't think we can talk anymore, our opinions on optional content are too different, and optional content MAKES a game. Do you really have a right to complain about a puzzle in the age of the internet where all the answers are available at your fingertips? You actually get Omnislash in the Battle Square though.

Totally agree it has some really beautiful tracks. I also really like it's battle music but a lot of my friends are meh to it, but oh well it's got plenty of other delights.

Ah, must've read it wrong. But I don't play VII anymore, so... meh.
But I think optional content doesn't make a game. Or rather, it shouldn't. I think what should make a game are the characters and the mandatory things you have to do. That's a pretty sad thing to say, "Well the storyline events were absolute crap, but the side content is what is really fun in the game."

And I stand by it, does the final battle change somewhat, if I don't have Omnislash?
I'm curious.

Pfft, sorry, but my yaoi mind just finds that last part hilarious! :gant:

*cough* By the way, I know this may seem petty of me - it probably is - but I want to set the record straight about Lightning Returns. I think it's a fun game, but nowhere near great. Read this short review I wrote on a GameFAQs topic, about the type of honest score I'd give the game.

Hmm I know Ice man is like God-tier in mutants because he can create things from nothing so my money's on him. Plus he's got the X-men to back him up and that's more allies than Johnny Storm has

I don't really get the point of collecting any ultimate weapon or Limit break for Aerith when she's just gonna die before you get to the end. That's like if you got the biggoron sword in Ocarina of Time and were unable to use it once you got to the shadow temple. It makes no sense to me.

Hush now we're in the presence of someone who actually hasn't played the game, spoilers should be tagged.

Though I agree, that sidequest turns out kinda pointless for all the use you get out of it but you don't have to use that character for the rest of the game.

EVERYONE knows that Aerith dies, I've never even gotten to that point in the game, yet I know it! It's like the fact that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father, everyone already knows it, it's not a spoiler, even if you haven't seen the movie!

Right? I mean, I don't mean to insult anyone, but to be in this day and age, to be a gamer born 1990 onwards and with internet connection, it is impossible to not find out that Aerith dies. You'd have to be living under a rock on a deserted island and never even knew that Final Fantasy existed to not know that.
Especially if you go to pretty much any "Top [Number] Saddest/Most Shocking Gaming Moments/Deaths" and they'll all have Aerith dying at any of the numbers. I mostly saw her in, like, the Top 3 or maybe Top 5 number as the lowest.

I personally never thought her death was anything shocking or sad... quite frankly, when I got that scene, I laughed.
And note, Aerith was the only character in the VII playable cast that I actually liked.
Of course, that doesn't mean that I actually cared about her... :ron:

I've never really understood the title of One Piece, however, that could be because I've never seen it. Does the title actually have a meaning, like, is there some sort of artifact called the one piece or something? Or is the title just a random title with no real signifigance?

It's supposedly the name Gold D Roger gave his most valued treasure just before he got executed.

Finally, I can watch all of Evangelion without the nightmareish mindfucks.

Close but its the name of the place where he left his most valued treasure.

@Dimentiorules: What are you waiting for then? Start watching one piece or reading the manga which i most recommend.

I just got done watching the first episode of one piece, like you recommended. It's not too bad. The villain kinda reminds me of Rosie O'Donnell in a way. It seems sorta interesting. I may or may not consider watching some more of the series.

each episode is about 20-30 mins and if watching is too much hassle you can choose what I suggested earlier which is read the manga.

It will be worth it trust me. I suggest watching the sub versions over the dubb because the voices are pretty bad when trying to match the characters.

It took me a week to watch and catch up to 117 episodes of Hunter x Hunter, so it's all a matter of how invested you get into the series. If I hadn't read the manga already, and I was dead set on marathoning One Piece I think it'd take me maybe a month or two to catch up to 620+. But then again... I gotta take into account that I have a goddamn data cap.

I remember it took me about 1-2 months to go from alabasta to the marineford arc. That was during the summer when I had to much time in my hands and was too into the episodes to stop.

That's funny, because I did the same thing over the summer. I stayed up super late reading the manga from Alabasta to Marineford before leaving to go on my summer vacation trip.
Good thing I could use the hotel's wi-fi on my i-touch at the time because that's when I read the chapter where
