<3 the Nintendogs bath theme. Man, I love that series... stopped playing it because, well... I have a dog. Sorta defeats the point.

The Mega Man 2 medley is fun, mostly just.... dat Wily Castle Theme 2. Though these are samples of the music, I'm hearing it cut out after about 50 seconds.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else hope that a remix of DOGARS/POKEMON from the poison-type gym in Black/White makes it to Smash?

Outside of the fact that Shulk clearly has Marth's B up attack, it seems pretty convincing.

If they've made Shulk a Marth Clone as well I may not buy the game.

That seems a tad over-the-top. Even if they don't fix Ganondorf to be a non-clone (which would greatly disappoint me), I'd still buy the game. There's enough there that's new (modes, characters) that makes me want to purchase the game.

Also, anyone else think that ESRB00083 has a bit of a dirty mind from how some of the pictures are framed? X3

EDIT: One more thing, supposedly someone leaked videos and images of the final game roster. I was rather reluctant to share this at first because of the strong possibility of it being fake, but the videos included are pretty convincing evidence to the contrary. I still have some doubts about it, though.

I-I don't know...I'm just so sick of clones and the thought of a potentially great character turning into a Marth Clone...it'd be breaking me.

Though yes the pictures (and even the choice) of trophies betrays the poster's thoughts.

I get what you mean. It's disappointing, y'know? But one more clone here and there isn't a deal-breaker for me as long as I have enough original characters. Smash 4 had me at Mega Man, especially after all the crap he's gone through (the bad timing joke mega man, the cancelling of three titles, the crappy iOS title that was able to be replicated by college kids in 24 hours).

There's still hope to be held out that this leak either doesn't represent the final product and/or is fake. I suppose we'll find out more together.

Though at my core, I'll finally be able to play smash the way it was intended: with friends. Because I have to say, I haven't had a lot of super fun memories with Melee, because I didn't have anyone to play with. Brawl was wonderful for me because it had a really cool single player story mode, and I could have fun by myself. Now with (hopefully) better internet play, I can finally play with friends like I did with my abusive cousin way back in the N64 days.

Okay, so just as a quick refresher to anyone else reading this: a long time ago, there was bad Western box art Mega Man, who looked a little on the tubby side. This was way back when I was a little tiny Geno/Ami about 25 years ago, as by the time I was old enough to appreciate anything Mega Man related, the X series had started.

Sometime before Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled, Capcom (and I think Inafune?) thought it'd be funny if an exaggerated Bad Box Art Mega Man were to be in Marvel v. Capcom 3. Then Mega Man Legends 3 was cancelled, and I think they'd cancelled Mega Man Online by this time, and so when we got Bad Box Art Mega Man, it felt like Capcom was kicking us fans while they were down. Nothing to say of their releasing the game 3 months after Testunoko v. Capcom, which impacted its sales very hard (and had Volnutt included, even!), thus preventing multi-console release outside of the Wii because of "poor sales".

The videos have been taken down so I can't comment on them. However, the fact that Dark Pit is playable (and apart from Palutena and Pit on the character selection screen) makes me Skeptical. Bowser Junior is also an exceedingly disliked character among Mario fans, and as a result his role in the franchise has diminished quite a bit these last few years. Of course that may not stop Sakurai, I'm just saying it wouldn't make much sense. I never trust leaks at all.

True. Though I've always liked Bowser Jr./Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, and was sorta surprised neither made it to Mario Kart 8, despite the fact that a quarter of the racers are tiny babies in diapers.

If the leak was any indication, I actually liked the playstyle quite a bit, using the Koopa Clown Car that's been in the series since I was a kid.

On the subject of all this, if the leaks are true, not very hype for Bowser Jr., since he's an annoying little bugger more than anything, but I'd be glad if Shulk made it in. I've not played much of Xenoblade Chronicles, but I acknowledge the game for how good it is, and how great Shulk would be in Smash. It'd really suck if he was a clone/semi-clone.

Gonna slide in a cheeky rant here, though. I know it's his game and all and he's only human so there's gonna be some bias, but Dark Pit? Really? We've already got a new character for Kid Icarus, many new items taken directly from KI:Uprising, Smash Run has about a million enemies from Kid Icarus, do we really need another KI:U character? I don't know what's worse, that they might have wasted time on him when they could have made a character that people want, or if he's a clone, that he added a clone for no other reason than to boost the cast of Kid Icarus characters. Just...bugs me, is all :gumshoe:

Also would be very glad to see Game and Watch back, since I semi-mained the little dude and will continue to do so if the leak is true. Did not see the Duck Hunt dog coming, in all honesty. Guess it kinda fits Sakurai's M.O, with every iteration since Melee having a super-retro spot in the roster.

Those ass shots, though :bellboy:

I drew Pit and Dark Pit once and the difference was... mirror image. One shoulder attachment on the left, the other on the right. Really, they're pallet swaps for the most part.

Considering the plot of Uprising though, nothing more should really be expected. The ONLY difference that really separated them was Dark Pit had infinite flight, but if they put that in Smash, it'd be more broken than Metaknight's recovery.

Pit and Dark Pit have completely different personalities, even if they look almost the same. And while their powers are practically the same too, I think there was enough in KI:U that they should be able to come up with at least a luigified moveset for him.

It'd suck if Shulk was a Marth clone, though. He came from such a great game, it'd be a shame if he didn't get a unique moveset, and then add on the fact that we already have another confirmed Marth clone in the game...

And the only reason Dark Pit had infinite flight was because he absorbed Pandora's powers/soul/whatever after she got stomped.

I loved Dark Pit as a character. One way they could give Dark Pit a varied moveset over Pit, at least smash attack wise I'd think, would be to give him access to different weapons than what Pit has. We clearly see that he can use all the same weapons that Pit uses in Uprising. I haven't seen any gameplay footage of the new Smash Bros, nor do I want to, but if Pit is similar to his Brawl self, the only thing I can see them doing is giving Dark Pit more of the melee bruiser weapons.

Still would have liked to see Magnus as a playable character, even if he is just another sword guy...

That's what I was thinking too. But anyway, I think they could make Magnus be something besides 'just another sword guy'.
Because according to the game, Magnus's weapon is considered a club... So I could see him working as a bulky bruiser that can take hits and deal 'em right back. (Balanced by being slow, and having terrible jump/aerial recovery.)

The 3DS version has Spectator Mode:

Image

You can watch matches from anywhere in the world, and bet gold on who you think will win each match. The info provided to help you decide includes player info, match rules, win rates and odds of winning.

In four player matches, 1st and 2nd place winners will get prizes, and spectators can bet their winnings on bonus chances.

That's not a bad thing though. It makes sense for a fighting game to have scaled difficulty rather than set ones.

For as long as Smash isn't out in people's hands, there will be leaks from the first trailer to the last pic of the day, as annoying as it may be. It's pretty much been that way since the EGM april fools joke showing Sonic and Tails in Melee.

He's an assist trophy in this edition, unfortunately. But who knows, maybe he'll pull a Little Mac and join the roster in the next Smash.

To be fair, casinos were frustrating, especially in HG/SS where they replace it with voltorb flip and couldn't buy more coins (so you couldn't just buy more coins, bypassing the gambling altogether).

Though I wonder how exploitable it is. Get a couple friends together and throw a fight for more coins than you'd normally get in single-player mode.

The T rating is likely due to females in outfits like Wii Fit Trainer's and Zero Suit Samus's. Because alcohol, violence, and possibly even a curse word or two will make a T rating, but THE FEMALE FORM!? INSTANT T RATING.

Music Page has been updated, with a new Orchestral Rendition of Green Greens and....a variation of Mario and Luigi: Dream Team's battle theme.

The Green Greens one was done by the guy who did FFXIII's music, he's got a particularly distinctive style I thought I recognised his stuff before I saw the name.

Definitely fake, but cute vid. Guy has some good comedic timing, despite the cheek puffs in his speech (annoys me for some reason).

LOL That was great, mostly on how purposefully silly a lot of the explanations were.

My top picks of newcomers, despite unlikeliness:

- Bad Mr. Frosty. Already from a fighting series, Nintendo-system exclusive games. Jim Cummings returns to play the character.
- Banjo & Kazooie: Like Mega Man, they're not the only mascots in need of some freakin' respect. Move sets could be very varied. Problematic due to third party rights owned by rival company.
- Strong Bad: With several (normally free) Homestar Runner games on the Wii along with Strong Bad's Cool Games For Attractive Peoples, this would be one of my favorite picks. Problematic due to time constraints (but it'd be amazing, I'd main him so fast!)
- Phoenix Wright: Pretty much expected on a site like this. Apollo, Klavier, Edgeworth, Franziska, Mia, Godot, and Athena alts? Problematic due to third party rights from a jerkwad company. Maybe support character attacks/final smash including Maya, Trucy, Ema, Pearl, and Kay?
- Professor Layton: Same here. Maybe have support character moves involving Luke and Emmy? Or just have alt costumes be Luke and Emmy. Problematic due to third party rights, but could conceivably work out easier due to Nintendo console exclusivity (not counting spin-offs and possibility of Layton 7 on iphones).
- King K. Rool: Because if Ridley makes sense to others, why not someone who's had a huge career as a recurring villain with a varied move set? (NOTE: Not that I'm against Ridley) Problematic due to third party rights owned by a rival company.
- Geno: My user name sorta gives that away, non? But yeah. I think he'd work out if S-E would give the rights. Problematic due to rights issues.
- That thing from Fez: Buy the IP, then include the character. Good way to draw another out-of-nowhere fighter like the Wii Fit Trainer
- Pit the Grey: We all know how Pit the Grey saved us all from the Balrog, allowing us to continue taking Jafar's lamp to the Death Star. Right? Would go great with Dark Pit and regular Pit.
- Birdo: Despite not being transgender anymore in canon (but still, hats off to Nintendo for the exclusivity!), this would be a decent pick. Or at least a cool assist trophy to shoot some eggs.
