The first game I ever finished was Pokemon Blue. I played it on the original Game Boy, which didn't have color or a back-light. And the screen was soooo tiny. I still have it somewhere. I also still have my Gameboy Color, complete with the stickers I put on it to personalize it.
I remember the first season of the Pokemon TV show. I remember I used to watch Yu-Gi-Oh and collected many cards, though nowhere near as many as my brother did. I remember our TVs used to be
tiny, and I used to only get 20 channels or so, most of which weren't worth watching. I only ever watched channel 11 (KXVO WB 15) and channel 27 (TBS). I didn't have Cartoon Network or the Disney Channel. I didn't get cable until I was in high school.
I remember dial-up. My family had four people in it. We had one phone and one computer. Our one computer used dial-up and our e-mail was brought to us by AOL. Every time we logged on, the computer automatically pulled up my mother's e-mail and said, "You got mail." We could not use the computer and the phone at the same time, which caused many inconveniences.
Also, all my homework used to be hand-written.
I remember when "Oops I Did It Again" was my favorite song of all time.
I remember reading
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone for the first time. My brother used to read the
Harry Potter series to me and my sister.
I remember when the Nintendo 64 was revolutionary. I used to watch my brother and my father play Super Mario 64 and laugh as my father made commentaries on everything.
I remember the Rugrats and Peanuts.
I remember when king size candy bars were 99 cents and I could buy gum for 5 cents a piece.
I feel quite old writing this post.
