Hey don't play yourself short, you had me at 100% damage before I could even touch your Yoshi in one of those lives.

I was just lucky the Knee landed in the finale there.

Good game man, a thrilling match. :kristoph:

I never thought you would have a lot of training under your belt. More than the amount of training I have under my belt. Still, it was a great match, no doubt.

I guess I need to practice more before I could take part in another Smash Bros tournament.

Good luck in the upcoming matches with Sjibbey, Pierre! :will:

Haha well xP That Knee is really tricky to land...as is the Falcon Stomp. He also moves so fast it's difficult to connect his grab while in motion so I've had to put in some time with the sandbag training for this guy.

But don't worry about the Sjibbey match, after that one...

Practice makes perfect BlueAttorney. Just keep playing the game and you'll definitely improve.

Been doing really good as Ike, in offline mode, because I only have a 2G SD card, and since I have Dual Destinies on there, I can't update Smash, meaning I can't play online. But, SD cards that are expensive.

When will the tournament for the Wii U be since hopefully I'll have my Wii U by the end of next week or the beginning of the following week.

And as I said before, it'd probably be better to wait for the tourney mode to be patched into the game, too.

Well if a good time (across timezones) can be arranged for most participants having a tournament will be much easier. Rules are predetermined and the same for everyone, you don't have to deal with people who don't show up and it will take around an hour or so? instead of several months.
I'd definitely recommend waiting for the tournament mode.

Speaking of tournaments Pierre and I will have our match this Sunday, although we haven't set a time yet.

Assuming the format that we ultimately choose is supported by it. I can't help but worry that round robin won't be an option.

It was mentioned (and announced altogether, actually) during the 50-fact extravaganza Smash Direct. If the video doesn't skip to the part, it's at the 27 minute mark. It doesn't outright say the mode is online, but it says you can search for tourneys to join, so obviously it would have to be.

Well I'm out.

In the short bout of fun spars after the official battling went down I found out that maybe another fighter is worth trying I hadn't considered before.

Maybe I'll train up with them before the next big one but for now, well done Sir Jibbey.

You have a totally legit Sonic Pierre. You keep running around using his specials very well, making you very hard to hit. That Megaman at the end was also no joke. There was no ass-handing in our match, but I do feel that my win was well deserved (as in: not a fluke or just luck).

Of course you victory was deserved Sjibbey. I'll just need to amp up by game and work on my strengths for the next one though. You dealt with the scenario better though. I mighta gained the upper hand in the Sonic match for a spell but once you adapted your strategy to my attack I could hardly touch you on the last life.

Thanks for the compliment though man!

Yeah after fighting Sjibbey and a bunch of Level 9s today I've realised I'll need to just move onto For Glory matches if I want to improve my sparring. Level 9s are becoming too easy now I'll need to face tougher folks to improve now.

What is a round robin?

It's basically a system in which each person faces each other person once, and the one who's won the most matches at the end wins.

Yea friend a's zero suit samus reported today that he now has another friend B's Mac down to a tee due to this inability to recover well and my sonic game is improving so I was going toe to toe in terms of damage with that zsamus so I kinda wanna check against friend bs Mac now to see if I can take it out regular like.

I find it stupid that way because how are you supposed to have a one on one battle where instead of relying on skill you get wins with items and smashballs.

Well that's a shame man but you gotta respect the "for fun" smash players too. Sometimes the Chaos and anarchy are all part of the enjoyment. After playing 8-player Smash that's never been clearer to me.

Plus there's tactics to be had with items and non-Omega stages.
In my last match against Blue Attorney, I threw a proximity mine on the ground in front of him. I knew this would force him to take an aerial route towards me as we were both at high percentages and to walk across it risks death. He did as I expected and so I leapt up and landed Falcon's Hard Knee as planned which ended the match.

I mean its fine when your playing like 4 player smash or even 8 player smash but if your gonna do a tournament style matches then you gotta agree that it would be more suited if it was no item and omega.

Yeah but you relied on the item in order to get your kill. I mean sure yeah you have skills for using an item well but what about actually relying on the characters skill alone in order to achievement the victory instead of either running to get an item or smash balls.

Well...no I didn't rely on the item to get my kill. The hard knee is difficult to land. I used the landscape to my advantage sure but ultimately it was my skill with the character that worked too. I could have used any move in the air, but I knew it was going to be the perfect angle for the hard knee.

Also you act like planning and tactics aren't considered "skill" as well. The same techniques can be used in baiting the opponent to throw a counter or a dodge. Planning and Tactics and thinking how your opponent will move, what they are capable of and how to counter it.

The item wasn't 'responsible' for the kill. It was just another tool, much like using fireballs or vegetables as Mario and Peach are essentially tools.

Megaman can deploy a Metal blade which can be picked up and thrown like a regular item. Should we ban him on grounds of him having an item? What about Link's bombs? The opponent can catch them and wield them like any other item. Should he be banned?

Using items is fine, taking out the most powerful items that completely sway the battle is the important thing.

Because some people want to play Smash the way it was meant to be played?

I find it stupid that way because how are you supposed to have a one on one battle where instead of relying on skill you get wins with items and smashballs.

I wish that we had a meter for our final smashes instead of having to break a smash ball. That way we could still use our super moves even in for glory. Besides, we more casual players are just looking to have fun, and don't really care about winning or losing. At least, I don't.

You of all people should know luck is just as much a talent as skill.
