I'm pretty sure it'll be closer to a fair split. Maya's getting a lot of focus because they knew she was the most-requested character, which made her the natural point to kick off full marketing. We're slated to get more info (almost certainly about Apollo's first case) tomorrow or this week, so I'd expect the coverage to start to shift away from Maya and towards the "dual protagonists" again soon.

I'm in agreement with you, when this game was first announced i was excited but the more information that gets released i start to feel more and more concerned that this won't be very good and that it'll be the Maya show (featuring Phoenix Wright and that demon horned office slave)

I feel like this is kind of exaggeration to be honest, it's not like they bombarded us with Maya Maya Maya, it was just one event and one trailer, not even the whole trailer was dedicated to her, it was just a part of it, and in later trailers they didn't even focus on Maya that much, not in the pre-order bonuses trailer -that featured Phoenix, Apollo, and Athena, no Maya in sight- even the TV ads for the game didn't focus on her at all, just one little shot at one of them in less than one second.
I am sure that the first 2 cases won't focus on Maya at all for starters, we will likely see that tomorrow with that scheduled streaming, or even today if we are lucky to get Famitsu scans about the game

Yeah but let's face it about 95% of the fanbase is gonna buy this game regardless if it's good or bad BECAUSE Maya's in it and they think she's a goddess.

I kind of understand that, it's just that Maya has absolutely the WORST fanbase for a character i have ever seen, to a lot of people if you don't think Maya is an absolutely perfect character who has no flaws whatsoever you should go jump off a cliff. People who i'm sure if AA6 turns out to be bad they'll still try and justify it being good because Maya's in it.

Even as hyperbole, you're very wrong. Maya's flaws and her ability to smile through them are a defining part of her character and why we love her. I don't know what has you so bitter, but rest assured that Maya's return isn't going to overshadow the rest of the game. In fact, the latest announcement is on the Apollo side of things with Ema returning. I'm excited about that too!
We're just happy Maya's back like she should be. She's the person closest to our main character, after all. You should be happy too.

Dude you have no idea what it feels like to be a fan of AA4 and getting told multiple times that your opinion is wrong because Maya's not in the game. Or that you kind of prefer Apollo and Trucy over Phoenix and Maya, or that Maya should be your favorite character because she's absolutely flawless.
It hurts and like i said it actually made me kind of hate Maya as a character because she spawned people like that in the fanbase.
Side note: Trucy is technically the person closest to our main character purely because she's his adopted Daughter (Which really bugs me when you consider that he felt nothing to her being kidnapped when he DID feel way too much concern over Maya back in AA2).

I feel the same way. I definitely prefer Apollo or Trucy over Phoenix or Maya, but I feel like the latter gets more attention simple because they were first. Phoenix Wright may have been the main character of the original trilogy, but he isn't the main character of the entire series. That's why it really annoys me when people call Ace Attorney the "Phoenix Wright series". To be fair, most of those people probably don't know much about the series beyond Phoenix Wright's existence, or called ti that before Apollo Justice was released, but it still annoys me, because Phoenix is only the main charatcer in four of the games.

However, the anime and movie were based off of the original trilogy, so it's only natural that Phoenix would be the star. If it was based off of the fourth game, then Phoenix wouldn't have been the main character. There's also the spin-off titles, like the two Investigations games. Those don't even feature Phoenix, and he's only mentioned. I suppose DGS does feature his ancestor though...
I think a better way to phrase it would have been that Phoenix is the series' most iconic character, but i don't really think he should be considered the main one... But I suppose that's more a matter of opinion than anything.

Calling Dual Destinies a "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" game was more a conscious decision to market the game with his name on it, I figure. With so many lead characters it's more of an "Ace Attorney" game than any before it. It wasn't just contingent on his name aside from Capcom USA deciding how to market it as such.
