When they arrived, the first thing they noticed was a large monitor that has descended from the ceiling. On the screen, there was what appeared to be a little happy face right in the center. “Greetings, ultimates”! the little face moved as if it were speaking, but the sound game out of the various speakers in the train. “I apologize for the delay. Please, allow me to be the second to welcome you on your journey to Eden.”
Some of the students look at each other, confused. The monitor seems to take note of this and quickly begins to speak up again. “I am the Adaptive Authority Matrix. Employees of Alabaster have given me the nickname ‘Adam’. Feel free to refer to me in the same way.”
“Oh wow,” Taylor says in a sarcastic tone. “Is that an AI? Veeerry interesting…”
“Yes, exactly. I am the AI operating this train. Well done, Taylor.” Adam doesn’t seem to pick up on Taylor’s rather blatant sarcasm.
“So, umm, where the heck are the other attendants?” Rose takes a step closer to Adam. “I swear if I have to dirty myself by doing my own dishes…”
“The only staff on board is Sir Anderson,” Adam explains. “The train is operated by myself and he can supervise each of you. Due to the lack of staff, each of you have been given access to the kitchen through the use of the fingerprint scanner. We at Alabaster apologize for any inconvenience this causes.”
“Oh yeah, it was the same with the storage right? So we get free access to both of those? Nice, nice!” Vic smiles. “Wonder what I can dig up in the storage room…”
Nick then walks up over next to Adam, and turns towards the other students with a smile on his face. “This thing’s pretty impressive right? You guys can treat him like a Teacher’s Assistant! Ask him anything you’d ask me.”
“Correct. With no delays, we will soon arrive at a temporary stop at a hotel. There you will all be able to rest up overnight and we will then return back to the train, on our way to Project Eden.” The face on Adam’s ‘face’ is unmoving, however the lines on either side fluctuate as he speaks.
Eli begins rubbing his chin in thought. “What exactly is this Eden thing exactly? Of course we know the jist of it, but could you give us some more detail?”
“Project Eden is a talent enhancement program provided by Alabaster itself. Once we all arrive at the facility, many programs and tools will be available for each of you to hone and enhance your talents, and become better people. There will be several dorm rooms for each of you to stay, and Alabaster will quickly retrieve and supply anything and everything you need to be successful at whatever it is your talent entails. Your influence as ultimates may be bigger than what you know, so Alabaster will do its best to provide for each of you.”
Eli nods, seemingly satisfied with the answer, at least for now.
“With that all said and done, feel free to return to any previous activities. I will remain here, to answer any questions or provide anything else, however I can only do so much.”

Then the monitor rotates to Marshall, facing him despite Marshall not doing the same. "That is concerning... However, once we arrive at the facility we will be able to thoroughly check up on Taylor. I am sure this memory loss is only temporary. Unfortunately we lack the means on this train to give any aid. We can give Taylor a quick check at the hotel if the staff there have enough free time."
And finally, Adam rotates towards Nicos. "I apologize for confining you solely to this train. However, it should not be long until we arrive at the hotel, where you can exercise all you wish. I would not advice any intense physical activity while on board."
Without rotating, he adds "I will send the request for leeches now, Althea."

Hoshiko knelt down, cleared her throat, and spoke a little too loudly to what she assumed was the toaster's microphone. "No, Captain Okamura! My sister and I are identical twins, but we do not have identical fingerprints due to..." she curled her face, thinking. "...
