“What are you gonna do with her?” Ryleigh shouted as she stood in front of her monster buddy.
“Oh, relax, half-pint,” Ace said. “Susu won the game, so she will be treated fairly. She just has to return to the lab.”
“Yeah, so we can STUDY her!” King screeched.
“And figure out what makes her so strong!” Queen said. “If we can figure out what makes her tick, then we can make an army of them for--”
“Alright, both of you, knock it off,” Ace said while rubbing his temples. He seemed really tired for some reason. “Look, Susu is gonna be fine. Just take my word for it. Cups, bring the Morningstar back downstairs.”
Cups, having finished cleaning up the corpses, led Susu away from Ryleigh.
“Susu…” Ryleigh said with tears in her eyes. “I’ll find you again! I’m gonna get out of this mess and free you! A-and then… then I’m gonna teach you volleyball!”
Susu looked back at her trainer, a sorrowful look in her hollow eyes. She screeched and nodded. Someday, those two would reunite…
