"W-well, let's go over Dale's timeline if it really was him. He goes into the northern elevator in the lobby at around 4:00, kills Sam, then waits. He doesn't want to leave via the door as someone might see him leaving an elevator with a dead man inside. Nor does he take the elevator to another floor to get out, as Max called the elevator up from the 2nd floor. So when Max calls the elevator up at 4:05, Dale is still inside. He gets up onto the roof of the elevator so Max doesn't see, and then... Well, he gets out, sure, but now he has to get back down to the lobby. Max already took the southern elevator down, so he has to call it up again and take it down. He then goes to the Infirmary while Max is in the restroom, just in time to leave at 4:10 and meet Max. That's an awfully narrow window... Something doesn't sound right there."

He thought about that for a little longer, before reluctantly adding, "I guess the same thing applies to Great Dragon... To kill Sam you have to be in a closed elevator with him, so you need to leave afterwards. The only options are leaving while it's still on the first floor before Max called it, which has too many problems, or leaving while it's on the second floor after Max called it, which means anyone with an alibi for 4:05 is safe."

"In our timeline, the killer had to not be seen at 4:05. Since Max calls the elevator up at 4:00, we can safely assume that 4:05 is when the killer is on the run, and should therefore be unaccounted for, yeah? At this point they're hiding above the elevator and then taking the southern elevator down. Dale's timeline matches this perfectly. While it could be Ramon, I don't see him being able to pull the trapdoor trick off. Devin was seen at 4:05, so it can't be her... That leaves only Dale as far as I can see, right?"

Ol' Dale would probably be too worried about the safety violations that'd go into killin' somebody!" He let out a slight chuckle. Surprisingly, he'd almost made a return in form after everything.

"Sure Sam could have been killed earlier, but there's still the issue of how the killer left the elevator. We know the elevator was in the lobby at some point, so if the killer had left beforehand then someone called it down, saw a dead Sam and did nothing about it. If the killer left while the elevator was in the lobby, someone might have caught them. The only option left seems to be leaving after Max called the elevator up."
