TV-Head cowers momentarily due to the bird, but nothing can keep them down for long, “If being suspicious makes me not one of your targets, you must be a killer!” There’s a electronic rasping noise that must be a gasp.

“Give me one good reason not to vote for you!” TV-Head sticks pokes their index finger in the air, “I can already sense through all of your deflections! We have no additional information aside from what’s in front of us!”

"One of us is dead...and the killers are among us?sus" Nero mutters. "Oh heavens, I cannot be the next one to go... I simply cannot die here."

He then faces the others. "Do we not have any other leads? But alas, I suppose sharing any information may put a target on one's back. This is all very vexing..."

" umm, now I don't want to offend anyone, but I do want to umm, come out with a rather strong opion. I hope not too many people mind but, well i should just say it, right?"

Albatross takes a breath, longingly looking at his spillt coffee before spitting it all out.
" I agree with Crow that TV Head seems unhinged but not a killer. Maybe umm, keep them in mind as a back up selection so we don't all die if we can't figure anything out?"

There was a moment of pause before Albatross turned to Tv Head and began
"Umm sorry, please don't kill me or stuff me in a locker because of this, no hard feelings? I could uhh, give you a hot topic gift card? I think they sell cat suits there."

Nova tapped her anklet anxiously. "Well, uh... I guess if it comes down to it and we don't have any more leads, voting for the least helpful people wouldn't be the worst idea... even if it makes it harder to figure out the lock combination..."

“Perhaps because the only reason you’ve given to vote for me is that I haven’t been killed yet,” Crow said with a frustrated sigh. “I won’t waste time defending myself from ludicrous accusations. If you’d like people to treat you seriously, perhaps prepare a better justification for your votes.”

Crow turned away from the group and scratched her chin, taking a moment to think.

“Another possibility,” she began uncertainly. “Is that we vote for someone who already completed their trial. Namely Albatross or Silver. I suspect the killer may have targeted Cool Cat because he already completed his trial, and here’s why...”

Crow somehow explained in-character that killing someone who already completed a trial would allow other players to write their trial too, and would have been a reasonable criteria for killers who would have otherwise chosen randomly.

“Obviously the killers wouldn’t have killed one another. Because Albatross and Silver were not chosen out of this group, that means they’re marginally more likely to be Killers than anyone else.

“Of course, this theory is based on a lot of assumptions. It’s possible Cool Cat was picked randomly, and it’s possible that no one in that group is a Killer. Not to mention that Silver and Albatross have both been fairly helpful. Still, it might prove a better option than nothing.”

TV-Head shoves Albatross and takes one of his hot-topic gift card. The television itself seems to steam with rage and the figure beneath it huffs.

“Yes, the trials. With Cool Cat dead we should share our numbers so that we can guarantee our escape. Once again those should go to me since I have an impeccable intellect,” they say with false bravado, genuinely scared they might die soon. “I think Crow is still the most suspicious and only looks less suspicious now that I dragged her into the fray, but I am certain that the whelp can’t be a killer!” they jab a thumb towards Albatross.

“Soon I will have deduced the killers and scientists. I am getting amazing reads even now on everyone and everything.”

"S-Someone silence this box up!" Odin yelped. "I don't think she's our killer, so let's just move on already!"

Odin patted his clothes down and brought out his voting app once more.

"This is all gonna be just some random hogwash of a vote, right? Well then, out with it! We can go with the idea of either targeting Alba or Silver in a 50/50, or silencing the more quiet and unhelpful ones."

“Smooth operating, Odin, but I see through you too! You must be a scientist with adding in such a safe comment like that!” The TV-headed person snaps. “Anyway, I don’t think Crow’s deduction is very good, but Silver is a little bit suspicious and I would like to get her defense. After all, virtual tubers are trained in the art of deception.”

"Hey!" Silver stomps her foot in protest. "What's the big idea? I-I'm not one of those killers..." Silver quickly quiets back down out of fear of aggravating anyone and making them more likely to vote her out.

"It's totally possible like Crow said, that the first pick was totally random..." She tugs on her sleeve, looking for things to say to defend herself. "It's also really hard to say if ANYONE has been suspicious!" Silver grumbles. "And I've b-been helpful! I mean, I'm not going to share my number, but... Surely there's someone else who's been too quiet, or something?"

“You’re not going to pull your tooth out, you’re much too cowardly for that,” They rebuke Odin forcefully, not willing to humor him. Apparently the hot topic gift card that they still hold is enough to satiate their greed.

The machine-like person listens to Silver’s plea. “Bad plea. You’re next after Crow from my point of view.”

"I agree that selecting someone who's already finished with their trial is a good idea." Nero adds. "A suitable last resort option, at least."

"I still have my eyes on the Television Head individual. Something about his behavior is suspicious...I'm glad I'm not the only who thinks this." The young man notes. "It could make sense."

"Truthfully, I can't see the difference between Silver and Albatross in his scenario," Odin admitted. He tapped his forehead in thought, trying to read TV-Head. "Maybe...he just likes Albatross, because of the gift card he got? T-That's it, isn't it?! I know greed when I see it!"

Though, TV-head also put a fat target on their head if they were making such a claim in the first place..."

"Hmm, hmm..." Ennea hmmed. "If anything, TV Head vouching for Albatross makes me think they're scientists. But if they were a middleman, or even worse, a seer, voting for either could be disastrous for us prey! Ah, what a dilemma."

"Hey! A little birdie on my shoulder whispered in my ear that maybe you should die! You thought I forgot about you didn't you?!" TV-Head tries to clap at her but the knitted fabric on their hands prevents the sound from being very strong. "I'm not claiming anything anyway. I just thought that someone like that wasn't suspicious, and I'm one of the only intellectuals around here who has given any reads on the situation at all."

"It's open season and I've called my shot on who should go, but if the others don't call their shot, we will have no choice but to form a majority against them because they're slowing us down!" It seems that as insistent as TV-Head is, they're still looking for more information from the other players.

Golf who had decided to sit back and listen to the others and talk to his walkie talkie here and there decided to speak up.

I as well agree that we should look to voting for someone who isn't participating in the discussion. its likely among them is a killer or scientist. as for the choice to off someone who has completed a trial, I feel it would be a mistake as while it is true when there was three it would be likely to conclude someone in there was not within the prey faction as you may be aware one of them indeed was and has already been killed, I believe we should consider this option later assuming another vote happens later which unfortunately is very likely given our situation.

Finally I believe the theory to vote for someone that one looks the part isn't even worth discussing. at first it may seem it would have merit but in actuality it is likely both enemy factions were aware of this and have chosen to avoid looking or acting like they are.

As for who among the quieter members should be voted off I see no reason to choose any one in particular, any of them at random is fine.

"Yeah, I don't have any leads myself, so unless someone comes forward with something, I think... going with one of the quieter people is probably the best bet," Nova agreed uneasily. "Even if they are 'prey', if they're not talking, they're not helping us... We can figure the code thing out later... c-can't escape if we're dead, you know..."

"It does seem like we are at an impasse", Uno agreed. "I doubt anyone else is willing to divulge much else for the time being. With that being said, we should focus on a specific target rather than talk in vague terms like "one of the quieter people". There really isn't much else we can do till then... Sadly, it seems people are reluctant to point fingers at anyone, which I suppose is an understandable feeling but one which will get us nowhere. We should just pick somebody, even if at random, and go with it. If people are fine with this, then..."

He closed his eyes and pointed randomly at somebody. "Twist!" He declared after opening his eyes. "...Will that do?" He asked, after pausing.

"I was about to mention him myself," Crow said. "He hasn't said much of anything during this discussion phase. When he did speak, it was just to agree with something Silver already said. That kind of passivity is quite suspicious."

She loomed over the brown-haired man menacingly.

"So, Twist, do you have any defense?"

"Good question for Twist!" Albatross said in such a way as to make it totally clear he was definitely taking part in the dicussion.

"Got any defenses? If you don't logic demands that you have to be a killer.
I uhh think. I failed logic class in community college."
Albatross was definitely trying to loom, but failed about as hard as you may imagine.

Of course the situation itself is terrible, it was certainly wrong for someone to kidnap us all and force us to play this game, don't get me wrong! But I don't see the harm in enjoying parts of it."

"I mean, murder is a heinous act, obviously, but I just find it so interesting to see how you can be pushed to commit it! "Does it count as committing murder in these circumstances, anyhow? These killers are obviously something else but us prey are confined to to this lynching mechanism due to them being the rules of the game. I don't think it's unfair to blame our captors for this over ourselves", Uno responded.

"Wh-- Fuck you, of course I'm gonna say something in my defense!" Twist exclaimed after taking a bit to process the information. "Only reason I haven't said anything else is because we don't have a concrete plan to vote for anyone other than practically at random. Plenty of other people have been quiet too," he added, crossing his arms and pursing his lips.

"How the hell is anyone supposed to defend themselves, anyway? At least not without giving away what they can do to help." He huffed. "I'd rather NOT reveal what I can do yet, but if it can't be helped and you guys really see voting for me as necessary, fine. I will. That's my shitty defense."

Whoever is, well, we're definitely gonna need them. But I digress. So... what's it gonna be? Force me to reveal my role, let me keep quiet, or just kill me? ... I'd prefer the first two, by the way."

"Over half of the remaining players have special roles. The killers have about a five out of nine shot of killing one of them anyway the next time they have the chance!" TV-Head sounds about fed up with this line of questioning. "Tell us why we shouldn't kill you, Twist! You know it's you or someone else here so just say what we should do instead! And you can't say Crow because even though it's a very good idea to kill Crow, that's my intellectual property!"

They seem pretty ready to vote at this point.

“We don’t have time for fooling around,” Crow said. “You’re our best option at this point. The only way you survive this discussion phase is if you speak up. You can give your role if you want. But even though you claim ‘other people’ have been quiet, you haven’t provided a single name. The least you could do is provide an alternate option. Continuing to delay the vote is a great strategy for a villain.”

After finishing her tirade she glanced side-long at TV-Head.

“Of course, I’m always open to offing that loon, if anyone’s interested.”

"Only reason I'm delaying the vote is because I don't want to paint a giant-ass target on my back, head, and ass for the killer to get me. But seeing as to how I'm probably fucked either way..."

Twist huffed and let out a loud, melodramatic groan.

"Ugggghhhhhh... fine. Figure this is my only chance at saving myself for now anyway. I'm with the Prey, obviously -- and if anyone says 'But that's what a killer would say!', please shut your trap -- and I guess I'd be considered a 'Peeper'. That makes be sound like a fucking massive pervert, though, so... call me a tracker instead, I guess. I'm very good at trailing after people and keeping an eye on them unseen. I've been watching Ennea, and thus far, she hasn't done anything notable yet. Doesn't count her out of suspicion, but she hasn't done anything... or visited anyone, so to speak."

That all being said, he let out another hefty sigh.

"There. You all happy now?"

Odin tapped his chin, thinking about Twist's claim and the prospect of his role.

"...It...kind of sounds like he's prey?" Odin said reluctantly, tilting his head. "Obviously we don't know his faction, but..."

He turned to the others.

"S-So what now? We have his role. We don't have time to target someone else, do we? Isn't it either Albatross or Silver, now? Or we can find someone else who's quiet to try and get some information out of them..? Like Nero or Golf..?"

He gave another stare at Twist.

"Or we can...you know." He made a slicing motion with his finger across his neck.

"I-I'm not sure myself..." Silver cautiously added. "Of course, I don't want to die, but... It's possible this is a last minute claim to protect himself." Silver shakes her head and fiddles with her hair nervously.

"On top of that, all we know is that half of the people with special talents are Prey, but the remaining 3 could either be a Killer or Scientist... So while his claim might be true, it's still entirely possible that it isn't."

"And finally, if his role were to be false, then he would have some special reason for protecting Ennea... Or perhaps, if his role is true, then we have more insight on her... Really, I can't think of much else to do in this situation. I suppose if Twist isn't an option, and it comes down to Albatross or myself, then..."

Silver hides her face behind her hat, too nervous to admit that if the situation called for it, she would instead vote for Albatross to save her own hide.

"You really think I made all that up on the fly? Damn, I must be a master at improv," Twist snidely remarked. "In all seriousness, killing me would be a mistake for the Prey. Lose an asset and bring the total count down to six. Killers and scientists'll probably love that, though, that's for sure. The way I see it, we have four decent options given the circumstances -- Silver and Albatross for having completed their trials, and Nero and Golf for not being as chatty, like myself. Yes, I know I'm parroting Odin, but he has a decent point, surprisingly. Both reasons for voting for them are grasping at straws, but... well, we have to vote for someone. I just know I can help if I'm given a chance."
