Maybe I overexaggerated but for the direct sequel to one of the best games of all time, it left me sick. My main beefs are that the time system was harsh/tedious, the dungeon design was bad and the boss fights were laugable. Sorry man. :(

The Water Temple in TP is WAY better than in OoT, but still it's the worst dungeon in the game ("worst" doesn't mean it's bad, but the others were so great).

Anyway, Great Bay Temple in Majora's Mask was AWESOME!

Ehm, what the hell are you talking about?

In tie with twilight Princess, Majora had the best dungeons and bosses.

Jak 3

Jak didn't look as badass in this game as in Jak II. But wait, that's not what I'm disappointed of the most.
The game lacked the awesome difficulty Jak II had, simply put, yep.

But the Last boss battle was the most frustrating.thing.ever.

Um RevFirst you angry? I had a few others I disaprointed of like....Um...um....Star Ocean Till the End of time. That game confused me a little..I mean sure fighting was decent but...I thought some bosses were like the ones in Final Fantasy X. Where you had to level up intensely before you even had a chance of fighting them. I like FFX but Star Ocean for ps2 had a lot of music similar to ToS... I was a little disappointed but not devastated.

Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero

Oh.....My....God. Unlike others on this site, I am a fan of Mortal Kombat and as good as Sub Zero is- This game sucks. I have only played the N64 version and I have to say- This game was such a big dissapointment.

Contra: Legacy of War
Konami is my second favorite gaming company. Conta is just awesome- but this game, I just can't stand it. With the 3-D glasses, you couldn't see ****. After this game, I promised I would never pick up another Contra game until they make 2-D games, Thank god for Contra 4 for the DS.

1) New Spyro games.
They suck. Anything beyond the PS1 games was awful, in my opinion.

2) Zoo Tycoon 2
Dude. You had to get the expansion pack to get wolves! 'nuff said.
-note, It IS a good game. I just missed mah puppies XD

3)Zoo Tycoon DS
Okay, this one just plain sucked

4)Mario and Luigi, Partners in Time
Just couldn't get into it. Big letdown after Superstar Saga's awesome.

Keep in mind that the topic says "Dissapointing", not "hate" This isn't in any order either.

Spider-Man Three (Wii version)

I'm a huge Spidey fan, so compared to what I was expecting this game to be, it crushed my soul. I still like it, but still.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance (GBA)

I played the console version and loved it, so I decided to give the GBA version a spin. Big mistake

Superman Returns

Superman has always a bad track record with gaming, and this game looked like the saving grace. Well, it wasn't, but the developers are on the right track.

Lord of the Rings: The Third Age
Can you spell "generic" and "way too hard"?

Final Fantasy 7

I really don't see what the hypes about. It not bad, but it's not great either.

Tales of Legendia

Symphonia was my first Tales game, and I have played that so much I doubt I have many brain cells left now, so as soon as Legendia came out, I made a beeline straight for it. It's fun, but it dosen't have the same charm as Symphonia.

Tomb Raider Legend (DS)

One word: Boring. At least the cutscenes are nice.

Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's

Compared to the other Guitar Hero's, this really lacks substance. It's just Guitar Hero 2 with neon lights, and there's anly about 5 songs I really like.

Ice Age (GBA)

I wasn't expecting it to be good, I mean it's Ice Age. I got it for easter way back in 2001 or 2002, and it was waaaay to easy to be much fun. Part of the reason it's dissapointing is because I was expecting Zelda: Oracle of Seasons :P

Kid Icarus

Don't get me wrong here, I do like this game, and when I heard of it's fanbase, I checked it out. I can see why it's popular, but this has to be the hardest game I've ever played.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Biggest let down ever, considering FFT is probably my favorite game of all time. They took what was a brilliant, complicated political drama with excellent characters are reduced it to "I don't like the color of my hair." A dumbed down childish romp without any of the charm of the original. I have a feeling Revenent Wings will be the same way.

QFT

Also:

Final Fantasy X-2. Worst Final Fantasy ever. Having to get 100% to see the real ending is just retarded. Even though I didn't expect much from a sequel, especially after seeing what Yuna looked like.

Yoshi's Island DS. They added too much stuff, the other babies are annoying and the music sucks. Also, removing the items was stupid, especially since they replaced them with extra lives. Having 100 lives after 4 stages is NOT normal >_<

Lost in Blue. I bought it thinking it was gonna be awesome, but turned out it was really repetitive and tedious.

Age of Empires II. Same game, bigger buildings. Yeah.

Donkey Kong 64. I thought it was gonna be like Donkey Kong Country. But noo, apparently gathering 50 000 kinds of bananas is a lot more fun.

That's all I can think of for now.

I was really upset with Lunar: Dragon Song. Reason...TOO SHORT! It really didn't delve into the whole Lunar world and story very much at all. And the final boss, isn't who you expected it to be, was a letdown. I miss Ghaleon, he ruled all.

You are joking... the dungeon design is the best in the series, and the boss boss fights are up there as well. OoT was runner-up for worst bosses, sitting slightly behind LttP(Fighting 4 different kinds of eyeball is SOOO MUCH FUN). The time system was meant to be harsh, Nintendo wanted you to feel pressured, it added a sense of urgency to your quest, something that no other Zelda ever did.

...Right. ¬_¬ Hating on Ocarina of Time for an invalid reason over Majora's Mask isn't gonna persuade me.
DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEZ!!!</GameFAQs>

Anyways, some more disappointments.
Final Fantasy VII is the epitome of overrated (Yeah, many people have said this but whatever). The gameplay wasn't anything interesting and the story/writing is somewhat of a joke. It's not so bad but saying it's "one of the best games ever" is just sad. There are better installments in the series than this.

Virtua Fighter 4 is probably the most boring fighter I've ever played. This makes me wonder on why fans of this hates on Tekken. O_o

Capcom vs. SNK & Capcom vs. SNK 2 are alright... Nothing special.

Yes it is. He was the biggest loser Square-Enix has ever made (and yes, I "have" played FFX), for a very simple reason: Donald Duck made him flinch in fear.

1. Halo 2

I was expecting an absolutely mind-blowing sequel to the first Halo, and was let down with what felt like a rushed game. The story had its quirks, but wasn't very captivating and the multiplayer was unbalanced.

2. Shadow the Hedgehog

They took one of my favourite game characters and tacked on useless crap like guns and vehicles. The result is an unpolished 3D Sonic game that had potential but failed miserably. Shadow deserves a better game.

I can't come up with 10, but here are a few:
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. They went and took one of my favorite games and gave it a mediocre sequel with number 2. Then they made this pile of shit! They went and stuck it in 3D. OK, that sounds good. Now they go and make it aimed towards children. Seems a little questionable, but still. Then I play the game, and it's just fucking ridiculous! I have spent several hours playing this game and I still can't get anywhere in it! They made it needlessly complicated in many ways. They made the most confusing interface I've ever seen in a video game. They removed all the charm and style of the original game. They went and made it so you can't play the single player campaign on anything but a super computer unless you sell a whole load of lights!

Zelda Phantom Hourglass. Mediocre game, replaced good puzzles with memory puzzles, removed heart pieces, and they ruined the controls. It's like they wanted to make a terrible game!

What disappoints me more is that both of these games were highly praised by critics.

I really don't have 10 disappointments...more like 6. Here goes.

6. SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters DS - The glitch on the ninth floor is what did it for me. I mean...it really affects playing through the second time. Yes yes, I could have sent the glitched copy to get a non-glitched copy, but bear in mind I didn't know about that until AFTER I'd already gotten one of the S-rank rare cards that I wanted during the first playthrough. And I figured out how to get some of the other S-ranked rares I wanted [like Phoenix. Who was seriously underpowered in HP, amirite?]

5. King of Fighters XI - After waiting and waiting for it, once I finally got it, I was a little disappointed and felt quite a bit let down. Some of the final bosses were way too overpowered...and since I've actually played KOF 2003 [thanks to my cousin there.], I was disappointed with how they really REALLY screwed up Duo Lon's moveset. My favorite character...no longer the powerhouse...

4. Dragonball Z: Budokai 2 - Of the original DBZ Budokai series [Not counting the Tenkaichis here.], I'd say this was a standout as the worst. There was almost no improvement in gameplay, and the little boardgame maps for the levels...I just think the story mode killed me. Now Budokai 3...THAT was the best. Flying around the DBZ-verse beats a board game board.

3. Gungrave - ...It may be that I played Overdose before this, but I felt let down about a lot of things, especially considering that Nightow was involved with this.

2. The Street Fighter Alpha series - ...The gameplay was so seriously screwed up to me [Bear in mind that I was a whiz with the original SF games and that I'm actually even more used to SNK fighting games than Capcom fighting games.] and...hell. Even the sound quality kinda sucked.

1. Gunstar Super Heroes - Even though it was a pretty good GBA game and an indirect sequel to my favorite game on the Sega Genesis, Gunstar Heroes, it felt more like a rehash of the first rather than a sequel, even though the two characters had distinct story lines on Medium and Hard, the Green ShadowLight "I am the true heir to the Empire" thing in Blue's storyline really really irked me, as I didn't feel it to be true to the original in any way, shape, or form. Oh yeah! And Green ShadowLight's Seven Force was totally weak compared to Green Gunstar's. I like a challenge in my boss fight, YO!

I don't have a top 10, but...
Shadow Hearts: From the New World. It took all of the "zany" stuff that worked in the second game because of the second game's seriousness most of the time and turned it into ridiculousness. I expected more out of them.
Everquest 2. Let's not even talk about that one.
Neverwinter Nights. I know nothing ever lives up to the hype, but I honestly thought it was a bad game, and I was expecting something wonderful.
That's about it.

And WTF, no Heart Pieces in Phantom Hourglass? That's @&+%#§*/+}@(÷>C@#!

Thanks for the tidbit. Now I know to stay well away from this game.

Wow, I can't believe you're putting so much importance on heart pieces, there's plenty of good reasons to dislike PH, but bitching about something that was only put in to provide artificial replay value? :S

@Agent Macbeth: Well.....that's true..... which is why I'm kinda glad they didn't make a sequel for Killer 7....

Capcom only published Killer7, it's made by Grasshopper Manufacture, Suda 51's company, and they always make incredibly original games. GHM has never actual done a sequel to my knowledge, all of their games are original content, apart from the 2 games that based off anime(Samurai Champloo and Blood+)

That's cute.

Name me an action-adventure game that has better ones, then?

Be careful about double posting Mr. GOTA.

I guess I have another one...
Shadow the Hedgehog-I don't even want to go into detail on this one
Don't mind me, just passing through.

Kingdom Hearts 2

The amount of pretty bois in this game made me sick.

Is it bad to admit I like Demyx?

XP

Yes it is. He was the biggest loser Square-Enix has ever made (and yes, I "have" played FFX), for a very simple reason: Donald Duck made him flinch in fear.

Just seeing how you lot would react. In actual fact, I can't stand him (which makes me like him. Yes, I have physcological problems :P).

I mean, one fight he's a complete craptard who can't do anything. The next fight, he is totally boosted.

Come on, Square-Enix, you can do better.
