- You look for the definition of a step-ladder in the dictionary (n. A portable ladder with a hinged supporting frame and usu. topped with a small platform) and are STILL confused since according to the Ace Attorney series, step-ladders aren't always shaped like an A... and have concluded (I remembered hearing this from somewhere else) that ladders have "rungs" and step-ladders have "steps"...
