Arise, topic from the dead....!!

I preordered my copy of LBP a week ago, and I can't wait until it comes out! I've been watching 4 Player Podcast go through the levels in the beta, lucky bastards. I couldn't get my hands on a code :( Right now the Shadow of the Colossus level is the one I'm most interested in playing myself. The beta levels will still be there when the game is released, won't they?

I'm going to find a way to make a Courthouse level, I swear!

I really want to preorder it from a GameStop for a special Kratos, Gorgan, and Minotaur costume for Sack-boy!

Yeah. Apparently, it was pushed back because there are lines from the Qur'an in the background. I'm getting really sick of the world of religion clashing with video games.

The delay makes me so sad. I could have been playing it today ;o; The beta's been out for a while now, shouldn't they have caught this "problem" ahead of time?

Apparently it is in one of the later levels, so maybe it wasn't included in the beta. My husband and his coworkers have been very tempted to let a few of the copies not make there way back to Sony, but they don't want to face the reprussions of losing such merchandise.

I'm very compelled to buy a PS3 for this. Especially since I heard Stephen Fry is narrating this.

Even so, the thing's crazily expensive :<

My brother was crazy enough to buy a PS3 from ebay, 40GB version with no PS2 support (damn, no Ulala Space Channel 5 :sadshoe:).

He was also crazy enough to put a bid on ebay for Little Big Planet for £70 and won it (there are copies floating about that people brought before the delay was announced). Should come tomorrow and will so not help in not completing my College Work. :franny:

My husband, who works for a major games store, says Little Big Planet is available for sale now. He recommends that you call the store first to see if they have any available. He says some stores only have reserve copies available now, so if you reserved it you should be good. Still, save yourself a trip and call the store first.

I kind of want this game. My sister also kind of wants this game. I waiting for her to break down and buy it so I can mooch off of her and not have to spend money on it.

As for something specifically game related, I sure do hate Sephiroth, but Sephisack is effing awesome.

I already had a grudge on this game when i saw the commercial. It claimed to be a new way of playing games or something. But that's wrong.

If anyone was changing gaming, it's Nintendo, releasing the new gadgets and such. it's SONY that's releasing the ye old joystick and button combo.

Wiimote technology is a terrible, impractical gimmick. No one's even come close to using it in an inventive way. A bunch of fancy content sharing and the like on the other hand, is very new and full of potential.

sharing content was invented alooonnggg time ago. Since Pokemans started with the trading.

Ok, howabout DS? that's a "new innovative way to play"

and it doesn't fail. Try playing Elite Beat Agents with the Joystick/D-pad

I lied. I did buy this game, and so far it looks amazing. The user-generated content I've seen is top of its time, though I've only played a Mirror's Edge level, a Metal Gear level and a SAW level.

Waiting for some Ace Attorney levels nao

I wouldn't call the Pokemon trading 'user-generated content sharing', if that is the context in this. Pokemon was more 'pre-generated content sharing'.

The idea behind Little Big Planet is that you're given all the objects, materials, and art the dev team used to make the game, and then allowed to make levels yourself. I think it's possible to even recreate the actual story levels if you wanted to. I can't think of any other games that give you that amount of player control. I mean I have Folklore that let's you make your own dungeons that can be shared online, but it doesn't come close to the level of customization in LBP.

I tried making an AA level, but it was my first and it didn't go so well. :yogi: But I have made two other levels, a Patapon level and another where you have to scale Mt. Fuji. :shoe: I'm not that good with the create mode yet but I've played some fantastic levels online.

Especially the ICO level. It's damn brilliant.

Frankly I love this game, as I stated in my earlier topic which got locked, I'm currently in the proccess of making a three levels interconnected. It's quite enjoyable using the tools given with the game. I love it.

Yes... but Super Smash Bros. Brawl had the ability to make user-generated content that you could show to others, and the Brawl game is a Nintendo game.

Nintendo and awesome don't belong in the same sentence unless its "Nintendo is NOT awesome, and has given up their awesomeness when they renamed the Nintendo Revolution into the Nintendo Wii." Nintendo released two awesome consoles, the Gamecube and the N64 in a row. But I guess third time's not a charm, because they tripped up with their cheap gimmick the NINTENDO WII.

The motion sensors are really bad and the whole Motion Sensing idea seems like it was half-assed, seeing as almost all games that use it play better with the gamecube controller, Prime example? Mario Kart Wii. And Nintendo didn't create content sharing like this. But neither did Media Molecule/Sony. Content sharing on this level of creativity was brought around during the Sims. But, Nintendo's crappy excuse for a "Stage Editor" is really nothing to go to town about. Brawl in itself is nothing to go to town about. LBP's level creator is a tool that you can use for almost anything. It's in fact what the designers used to make the other levels!

I used to favor you Nintendo.. but to quote GLaDOS, "Where did your life go so wrong?".

I have the answer to that. It's right around the time they said it would be called Nintendo Wii. But lets not turn this into some Debate Topic so it gets locked, keep the discussion on LBP (from now on ><).

Maybe try your local game shops or larger retailers that sell games. I don't live in the UK, so I don't know what stores are in your area specifically.
