And other last thing (this time it's not a question :phoenix: ): I don't know if this can be of any help, but I created some upper-screen logos for the "New Game" using the PWLib logo of the tutorial :keiko: .One has only the logo, and the other has KSA_Tech and the website address. (unfortunately, at least here, when I tested it the quality significantly dropped... :sadshoe: is there anyway to solve it?)

Images (the two first are the logos themselves, the third shows the quality in-game, which didn't stay good...)

Thanks one more time! :odoroki: I used the 256x193 "trick" (since I don't know what is pow2 compliant :payne: ). I don't know if AIGE can do this, but it's possible to put a "default" upper screen image, so if in the game.hlsl script you don't choose an image it puts one for you?

Pow2 compliant: the image width and height are power of 2 sized (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, etc)

There's no default for the new game screen (yet).

Any idea if/when there'll be support for unicode/UTF script files (for people wanting to, say, make cases in Japanese)?
I was going to translate my case just for fun, but AIGE didn't seem to like the unicode files...

GS4 Evidence added to PWLib. The files are on the evidence folder on PW folder.

Also I added the Scenery Overlay object (an object that will stay in front of the characters). By default I also included the Detention Center glass.

Hum... if you need a default logo, you already have one :hobohodo: And other question :Brush-Sniff: ... in court, the witness bench will always appear in front of the character, right? So, how can I use, for example:
Spoiler: 4-2
Wesley Stickler's "breakdown"?
Image
His hands appear in front of the bench...
Or make the character appear in front of the bench (since it has some "holes")... but how?

I haven't reached that point on case 2 of AA yet.

As I implement AHLSL commands for GList II controls, making that effect will be easy as pie (I hope so) since i'll be able to change the render order of the bench and the character with a simple command.
Something like:
glistreorderobject(listid,orgid,targetid);

The pwlib developer will use a function with a nice name for that. :maya:

it didn't work for me that way though. if it's 256x192, it's stretched and has broken pixels, but if it was pow2 compatible (256x256), it was squashed.

to better illustrate:

Image
this was done with 256x192 image size

Image
this was done with 256x256 image size

Image
this was done with 256x193 image size

the green rectangle around the picture shows where it starts and ends.

Serio, when you set the bg, also use this command: setbgsizefromtexture();. By default, the bg is 256x192 (so setting a 256x256 will squish the image).

tried that, 256x256 got fixed, but 256x192 was still using wrong squashed pixels.

i guess that one won't get fixed so easily though, seeing as all the backgrounds suffered from it before they were made pow2 compatible.

The very reason for this bad quality and pow2 focing has to do with a hardware limitation. I'll explain

Originally, video cards were limited to textures with pow2-sized textures. Arbitrary sized ones wouldn't work. Some vcards today retain that limit for some reason. (and pow2 sized is faster then arbitary sized too).

The D3DX function I use to load the textures detectes if the video card supports or not the arbitary size textures. If it do not, the function automatically resizes the texture to fit a pow2 sizing. That for once breakes the quality on some images. When you use it, it resizes back, so the sum of both resizes damage photo quality. The ONLY solution is to use pow2 sized textures. You can't force a vcard to support arbitrary sized textures.

still, that kinda doesn't explain why 256x192 looks awful, but 256x193 looks perfect.

The resizing algorithmn. That explains this case very well (and why some pics do not look bad while others do). Sometimes in the 192 case the algoritmn removes/adds different pixels then on the 193 case, so it affects final result.

I want to make some other two questions (sorry for not putting everything in one post... I'm recreating the "First Turnabout" case in PWLib and the questions appear when I face a "problem"... :sawit: )

1-Is there a way to use double commas in a message? Like in this example:

Code:
message("Our school had a saying: \n"When something smells, \nit's usually the Butz."");
runscript("pw_enablelarrycrying");

If I leave this "as is", AIGE gives an error, so I have to change the double commas in the "When something smells, it's usually the Butz." to 'When something smells, it's usually the Butz.', and... I don't feel so comfortable with this :yogi:
2-Do you have a prevision when PWLib with multicolored text (as you showed at page 39) will be avaiable? Just in the pre-court part there are two parts that need it (and one of them is just the thing about Larry :larry: )...

1: I'll add a way to add mid-level ". Like C, it will be \" most probably. In the interpreter now, i read from " to ".

2: I have multicoloring only on Accelerated now, but independent of the renders, the $c marks will be removed (and the marks recorded).
I could ship a new AIGE exe with it now, but I think I should do Simple too (since some people use it) before releasing it. No idea on time, but I'll try to pull it out tomorrow.

Nice. I'll add Serio's CRO pack to PWLib and add the alternative sizes (so Serio can add those that weren't possible earlier).

Oh, and a simple notice: I may take longer then usual to reply due to a massive loss of motivation due to the recent events on CR (Croik's post mainly). That made me reconsider a lot about PWLib development and CR.

"And then, when you look back at your own work, you are proud. A long journey of hardships, of friendships, of experience. But when you least expect, the one you most expect to give you a simple pat on the back is the one that fails the most, leaving the feeling that all you did meant nothing."

KSA, I told you.. It wasn't worth even posting in "that" topic. Don't let it discourage you, it doesn't really have any bearing on you or PWLib so, why should it discourage you? You said it yourself, 700 downloads, almost 1600 replies and almost 17000 views.. do they account for nothing now? :P

Lets just all focus on making PWLib the most stable and complete case maker there is/ever will be. :minuki:
