Hello folks. I am after some spritework being done. This isn't going to be easy as it will require some good spriting abilities. As such I am willing to offer cameos, or I could code for you for PWLib...

So anyone interested, I would like a sprite demonstration

As a demonstration please make a sprite that would replace Phoenix Confident (Using his pose as the template) the character you are aiming to make him look like is a older version of Ontikarus (link provided).

If you want to go that bit further with the demo sprite, he would wear a sleeve-less top (sort of like a vest) and blue denim jeans.

I would like to claim all legal rights to the presented spritework (Although I will definitely give you credit for creating them for me!)

p.s It would be appreciated if you had an instant-messenger of some kind (MSN/ICQ/AIM/YIM) so that I can keep in contact easier.
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

Hmm, The reason nobody seems interested is because well, they're sort of intimitated.
I aplaud that you would like to actually Give something back for sprites, but money?
This I think scares people somewhat, When you get paid you have to do a good job according to specific specifications, aka on a timeframe and little to none personal preferences.

You would probably have a better chance at finding a spriter if you just showed some of your work (coding, art, etc) and well, find one the old fashioned way. :)
Remember, this is supposed to be for fun, When you bring money in, It changes the whole game.

Given that I know I won't get a perfect result unless I designed it myself (Because people cannot read minds) and that I cannot do such work as it is out of my personal ability. I do not hold excruciatingly high expectations on quality, the sort of polish you have on your sprites is perfectly acceptable (maybe even a little lower, that is why I would like to -see- the result before choosing). As for a time-span, I don't have one. At the moment the project that it would be involved in is just in the concept stage, and a few details are written down, however I would highly appreciate having the sprites there for when I would like to use them (not a matter of IF because I know I will :damon: )

If being paid is scaring people from this then I could provide other forms of "Trade" .. Not sure what I could really offer other than perhaps doing code for them if they wanted a case created with PWLib? (It's the one I've chosen and I don't think I'll go to another, no offense other case makers! you probably do well! But PWLib fits snugly into what I want!) But I personally don't think I have any other abilities that they could find useful at all... so... that is why I offered cash that way they get paid for their work and earn a living out of what they are skilled at doing.
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything!

One idea to get a slight interest for others, if they would might be in a cameo. Even the slightest treat can become alot bigger. :P

Ps: And nah, I'm not a spriter, sadly.

If they want cameos their welcome to cameos. Heck, they could even play a vital witness or whatever in one of my cases if thats what they want. It'd be easy to slot them in.

This is a bit weak, its hot off the press so its pretty rough but will be improved if you like it.

Intreguing. A bit scruffy but you have already admitted to that. It would be nice to see what you believe is an improved version, I definitely have to congratulate you on managing to make it look furry at least, I understand that it's not -too- easy..

One personal thing I had in my own mind of how it would be though (I apologize.. it's not -HUGE- I promise.. just a tiny thing) is that the arms would be a little jaggidy because of the fact he has fur...

Nice attempt though, very well done! Look forward to a improved version.

p.s are you -sure- you wouldn't want credits or anything? because I'm looking for more than just one sprite.. in-case anyone wasn't aware.

Yeah, good point, it sucks :gant:, I've never made an animal/human sprite and I wanted him to have his paws more on his waist than on the desk. I suppose it kinda looks like he's pumping up. I think I might just stop now and let someone else have a crack.

Remember, you're doing great, I don't want to deter you but there are a few bits...

1 - Yeah, the "fuzz" on the arms is good, maybe a bit too extreme (a bit smaller, so it's not so "IM WILD! AND ON EDGE!")
2 - The right arm (left to us) needs to be abit thinner. Otherwise he looks "Hulk Smash" as someone else said (I found it quite humorous so don't worry, it's not bad :) )
3 - Ceres has the idea of the sleeveless top that I'm after with one of his sprites. So hopefully he won't mind me posting this.
Image a dark orange top like that, and that jacket you did is a nice addition, I quite like it, if you could do that a slightly brighter orange that'd be good.
sleeveless top
jacket
4 - What're those two spikes on his head on his left ear (our right)?
5 - The tail shouldn't -really- be visible in -this- sprite. So you don't need to worry about that
6 - The glasses are "noseglasses" (They hang from the nose, like anime ones. They don't need the long parts that slide behind your ear)

if you could then (just an if) get the shading to look more like the anime style Phoenix Wright carries, that would be awesome.

I suppose he got scared off trying to do anymore spriting feeling ashamed, which is a shame because it was most definitely a damned good attempt.

I haven't been scared off, I just don't see the point constantly uploading newer versions until I have fully completed the criteria for your sprites AND feel happy with what I have done :edgy:

Thanks a load for trying. You're efforts are appreciated. However. I found a spriter in the most unlikely of places. And I think her work is pretty damn good, she got the true thought of what Ontikarus looked like that I was going for. Not 100% but damned close.

I am not sure how my sister proceeded to make the sprite. I only know that it looks alot like what I would like as a finished result.
The actual pose itself probably won't be kept, I just thought it looked nice and wanted to put my sisters work to use and make people aware of what the character was to look like, if this really bugs you that much.

Tell that to;
Apollo
Jean Armstrong
And the other characters I cannot figure that he pulled apart and stuck together in a horrific act of frankenstein.

Bottom line: It's a replacement for my avatar to demonstrate what my character should look like and is not a final product as there are a few bits that need amending anyway. If it bugs Ceres that much that it has a similar pose to his character then I suppose I can start on all fours and start kissing his damn feet until a new sprite is ready.

One remark though, Greeny. I may not hold any official rights to it, but still, let's see what happens when someone uses your work.

But like I said before, It's a good sprite and i have no further problems with it.

It's just for now. I wanted to see if she could pull it off, now that I know she can. Once a new sprite is complete you will probably never see that pose again. So there we go, danger over and everyone can get off my back stating "OMG TRACE!"

Me and Ceres has no trouble with it, keep the sprite.^^

And yeah, that quote from Tomb Raider got ripped off by Drake's Fortune: Uncharted. That is what I was reminded off.
And we aren't complaining, grats on getting a sprite.^^
I need to fix my own sprite soon too as well. ><

Oh, I have a older sister, so I'm the one that always get forced around. :P Was just assuming from the Old "Sibling hiearchy".
Was a mere Familiar joke I thought of at that time.

Welll she did pull it off. Looks unique, hard to decide where the parts come from, and pretty overall a Great sprite, the face could need a few tweaking, but Thumbs up.

You do know that Tracing is what ALL spriters does, right? >.> References are in a way Tracing as well. =<

Well, me and Pegasus was doing the sprite for you. I gave him my unfinished version, so poke him, He said he would do the Final shading + Details, since I'm very bad at that. I don't know how far he has gone.

But why change the sprite you have already? It's good, just the head looks abit off, but it's still a Sprite that's worth having.

And I know that Ceres thinks the same.
