*Cough* http://www.finalturnabout.com/music/

Anyway, I disagree with the topic title. The AA2 music grew on me after I beat the game, and it brings some really nice tunes to the table (Great Revival, anyone?), but the AA1 music is simply superior, especially Investigation ~ Cornered (Variation).

IMO, of course.

After having listened to all the music from all the games, I would conclude that PW2 not only has the catchiest music on the whole (although PW1 and 3 both definitely had a lot of good tracks), PW2 definitely has the best music when you think of it in context. This alone makes the game shine where all the other games have fallen flat, in my opinion (and trust me, I WANTED to say I liked PW3 music the best - Noriyuki Iwadare is my favorite VGM composer by a longshot). Another thing that comes to mind, too, are the examination songs and Phoenix's theme, which are just plain better than the ones from the other games.

I'm still a little "what the heck" minded after listening to JFA music. It distinguishs the most from the typical Phoenix Wright-ness I learnt to love from the trailers and the first game.
I seriously thought at first that JFA would have the music as AA, so I didn't pay so much attention previewing the music like I have done with PW3, because PW trailers use PW3 music.

My prefered soundtrack must be GS3 Godot but JFA got some good Reminescence music.

I really like the Cornered music from AA2. All the music I've heard (AA1/2) is great, so I don't know which I really prefer.

Well, out of context GS2 music is the worst, but they match the atmosphere enought to make most of the tracks work. And like Happiness Punch! mentioned, GS2 has some killer reminiscence track (especially case 4's reminiscences remix of the Steel Samurai theme).

Sometimes I can't get the GS2 case victory theme out of my head, for some reason... it sticks with me much moreso than the GS1 victory theme.

I do have to say I prefer the GS1 cornered theme, though. It's hard to top the original one, there.

All in all though, I love both games' music. Different styles, but both quite memorable and enjoyable.

A straight comparison, in my opinion, makes GS1 the victor. However, the tracks from GS2 that I find are superior are VASTLY superior (Reminescence - True Pain / Tonosaman Ballad is better than DL-6 and the case 3 sad song).

But Investigation (Cornered) from GS1 is so untouchable, Noriyuki Iwadare remixed it for GS3.

The Court Room music in GS2 is better than GS1, but most of GS1 music are better than 2.

I prefer the examination music from PW1 than PW2, and yeah, the investigation (cornered) variation.

But PW2 has some great music too, so you can't just choose one. Payne

Honestly, I hated the court music in GS2 at first, but I like it better than GS1's music after I got use it and got into it's beats. I, for one, like the court begins track and the objection track of GS2 for some reason.

I have mixed feelings here.

I like AA's court music (the fast paced tracks that made me yell with excitement), but I like JFA's investigation music (especially the tracks during Case 4 that involved Engarde and Adrian).

Both games had excellent music, but I wouldn't put one ahead of the other. I like 'em both.

It seems that the music feels more and more epic with each game. And I happen to like epic music. So I like GS3 music the best. Or maybe the scale is more epic, so it seems like the music is more epic...hm..

I'd put them about the same. GS1 has better investigation music, and GS2 has some really nice theme music in it, but aside from that they come out about the same as far as I'm concerned.

A few of the tunes are quite catchy in GS2, but my heart goes for PW simply because it sounds like it has higher quality. I don't like the GS2 track overall because it almost sounds NES-quality (especially the court sounds). The only song from GS1 that actually sounds remotely like that would be Objection! and To Serve and Protect. And that was the whole POINT for tSaP. Gant

The DS port of GS1 had MAJOR improvements, but there was almost no improvement to the GS2 soundtrack. It was sad, really.

AA3 is going to rock your boxers off though. I HOPE WITH ALL MY HEART that they upgrade the music in this one.

Ace Attorney 2 has some pretty good music that grew on me a lot until the games completion (Franziska Von Karma and Edgeworth's "Great Revival" Theme)

But I still like Gyakuten Saiban 1's music better.

You don't like the Circus theme? I thought it was great... just the right amount of mystery and sadness in it to fit the case. That's why I tracked it in the music section >_>;

Well, lets see here...I really don't think much of GS2s cross-examination music, not much at all, but case 4 had some really sweet investigation tunes (especially the ones with Matt and Adrian, de Killers theme, and
Spoiler:
Hotline of Fate and the one where Matt confesses to you
plus some hardcore reminiscience themes (Case 2 being the best) but AA1 has some really good Cross-examination music and its Announce the Truth is unbeatable, along with some other good tracks. Overall, I think that they are equal.

3. Justice For All.

IMO,

Trials & Tribulations > Ace Attorney > Justice For All

Personally I like them all, but if I have to choose a favorite then I can honestly say that Trials & Tribulations simply blows the first two games out of the water in terms of music. Especially, with it's Pursuit - Cornered tune. They even gave several characters and "case openings" their own themes.

Thought I have yet to play the game I have heard music from it's GBA counterpart. I must it's really good even if it is GBA quality. However, for it to attain "masterpiece" rank the music must be polished up for the DS release.

If someone could PM the Franny code to me? Please :)

Best of JFA: Pursuit- Cornered (variation), Hotline of Fate, The Fire Carves the Stars (or something like that w/e), Steel Samurai Ballad, and Search- Core.

Completely owns AA.

Although the courtroom music on AA is so much better (apart from Pursuit- Cornered [variation])!

My conclusion: Courtroom music is better in AA, Investigation Music is better in JFA. I'm yet to hear any GS3 music, i'm shuddering in anticipation for it's release D:

GS2 is way... crap.

With GS1 Just hearing the music would give me a tingling feeling when watching adverts or something. I would know its PW and would be happy to listen to it. It had catchy tunes, and a contrasting assortment.

GS2 was all too similar, there was no 'proper' overtake music. Gs2 had lovely investigation music (eccentric to name but one). But to declare the music better than 1 you have to compare it all. In 2 there was (to me) no music that made you feel "W(H)OOO(P)! I'm getting to the bottom of this!" GS2 just... fell flat.
Working on a sig. Give me a week... month.

I feel that Ace Attorney courtroom music was better overall. JFA's Anounce the Truth was the only track I felt really rivaled its AA counterpart. As far as investigations go, AA had better general music, but JFA had better music for specific events (Search - Core, Great Revival). JFA's reminiscence music was also far superior to AA's.

My verdict: Ace Attorney > Justice For All

The courtroom music is the most important, and I feel that AA's was better than JFA's in context. As others have said, it's pretty hard to compete with the likes of Investigation - Cornered. That song conveys the feeling of an epic turnabout like nothing else!

I'm reserving judgment on T&T's music until I've heard it in context.

IMO, without going into too many details

1-5 exclusives (I am a sucker for this case) > 2-4 investigation, core, and Great Revival(s) > AA music and announce the truth (both AA and JFA) with exception to the rest of the court music in AA > the rest of JFA music > AA court music

Holy crap I'm confused :meekins:

A few like the reminiscences and jailer elegies score higher than their assumed categories, but as a whole...

Hmm...when I first started playing Justice For All, I was thinking that the music was much better in the original. But since then, it's grown on me and I have to say I much prefer the JFA soundtrack. Especially the 'Won the Lawsuit' song, brilliant.

I love Great Revival, Search - Core and Hotline of Fate in the JFA. Those were pure epic. I also love all the Reminiscences of JFA much more than AA. However, the rest of the tunes of AA is superior to JFA.

And I haven't heard any of the T&T tunes except for Fragrance of Dark Coffee which is love.
