Bets on Klavier.

I still think a few of 4-2's lines make it canon.

Perhaps there was once a woman in the band who did the vocals for that song?

Or the song's POV could be from a lady -- that's what I always assumed.

Though I did have to wonder the first time I heard it. :kyouya:
Kay, you might want to tone the ruffling down a bit.

My guess is that the localizers ran out of song titles to tie, and came up with that one when rushed.

That being said, Klavier is the singer. Always has been. Thus...

I'm pretty sure it's in the Japanese version too...?

It could be it's sung from the point of view of the girlfriend, and by the end of the song it does a turnaround to being "I am the boyfriend that is the witness" or something... Or maybe one of them is gay, who knows! There is lipstick in the dressing room. :wellington:

So what if I ship them? You ship Machi/Trucy, which has NO basis canon-wise. Klavier/Ema, on the other hand has basis.

It has antibasis, and no basis.
-Ema hates Klavier.
-Klavier shows no interest in Ema.

I'm just sick of everything shipping them. No offense, though, I'm just in a bad mood, don't take me too seriously.

Real-life band Franz Ferdinand has this thing where some of their songs references borderline stalker perspectives of attraction to guys one way or the other... So easily could be that just to...mislead people.

Then again.

"Watashi no Kare Wa Genkoku"

Maybe it's just a song cover originally made by some teenybopper J-pop idol. Hopefully.

And now I just have this horrible feeling that it's referencing something.

If Machi/Trucy has no basis, neither does KlavEma. Trucy remarks several times how cute Machi is, how much of a great musician he is, etc.
Sad to say, I've left C-R. I may still occasionally come on, but, y'know...

Since I am a shipper of :sassy: / :kyouya: , I don't agree on Klavier being a slut. But Daryan on the other hand........... :pencileraser:
IMO, the song was probably written from, like some other people have said, a girl's POV. If one of them was gay *cough*Daryan*cough*, I don't think that they'd "advertise" it so........non-subtlety.

True^^, but he really doesn't go around shouting at people "I'm gay!". Mode of dress can be a lot less subtle than what you actually say. I find it kinda hard to believe that they would write and preform a song about him having a "boyfriend".

...But then, you have to think. The only two people who are even MENTIONED from the Gavviners are Daryan and Klavier. Maybe one of the other, unmentioned bandmates made the song?

...Having said that... :pencil: I vote Daryan. :godot:

Between the thumb ring (which, until recently, was almost entirely limited to gay men), the magenta motorcycle, the lipstick in the dressing room, "My Boyfriend Is the Prosecution's Witness," the flirtation with Apollo, the heart-shaped keyring, and the clothes, Occam's Razor says that the guitar was not the most flaming thing on stage that night.

Yay! Canonically non-straight good guy who rocks out!

All in all, this is refreshing. Until now, the series has either portrayed gay/bi characters as freakish (Jean Armstrong), or attached campy mannerisms to straight characters (Max Galactica), or left it ambiguous (Miles Edgeworth). It's neat to see a character who's cool, self-assured, one of the good guys, and apparently out of the closet - and whose homosexuality isn't made into the central defining feature of his character.

Well you know. Back in the 80's people thought hair metal bands like Cinderella and Poison were gay because they frequenty wore makeup and / or lipstick. But they wern't. (And at the same time those same people would look at Judas Priest and Rob Halford and say "now he's straight". I wonder what the're reaction was when they found out :hobohodo: ). So it really doesn't prove it.

And 46 years later, who's to say glam metal didn't make a comeback?
