Blacklisted by Spamhaus

A while ago several of our members starting writing me saying they weren't abe to post on the board thanks to their IP being "blacklisted." This is not the same as being banned - if we had banned you, you would not be able to log into your account at all.

The cause of the problem seems to be Spamhaus, a site dedicated to getting rid of spammers or something. They don't seem to be doing a good job and your IP may have ended up on their list. They have a process by which you can get your IP off the list, here. I haven't attempted it because my IP isn't on there anyway, but if you've been having trouble posting you should check it out.

If you don't know your IP or how to check, you can PM me (you should still be able to PM even if you can't post) and I'll look it up for you.

When you can't post because of it, it will automatically give you a link to a website where you can remove your IP. However, it seems to block me a few hours after again anyway, and to repeat the process |:

I got this problem 3 times, but fixed it with some links they gave me.

Anyway, I'll take this into account if it happens again.

Not at all! I didn't know they existed until people started reporting trouble. Clearly they fail at whatever it is they're trying to do.

It seems to be working at least, the spammers seem to still be able to make accounts (and yes, they are still making a lot), but at least they are unable to post now.

Yeah, hopefully... but it would be even better if those spammer robots just couldn't register on the board at all. There are so many 'spam-robots' account, and even though they don't post, it still bugs me... :eh?:
