Who would've noticed it? edgey was confused as hell, Lotta didn't see it clearly... so why is this a cough-up?

Well... now that you mention it, sure, I guess. I just misremembered that someone got a video of the murder. I think it was just a photo :yogi:

I just find it odd that Edgey boy didn't say ANYTHING about it. I think he should remember something. After all, it was a "bit" kooky :hotti:

Edgey remembered the whole thing, but he didn't understand what had happened; he had said "at the time, i thought he had shot himself". perfectly reasonable, considering the circumstances. i think you'd be pretty damn confused in his shoes.

^ True, plus I don't think they would believe him if he said so. What the defendant has to say is usually disregarded in the AA universe. He was the only one there so he must have done it, that's why he was accused. And with Von Karma prosecuting it would be deemed as a joke if Edgeworth said that the other guy shot twice and then jumped into the water. :karma:

I have a feeling this has been mentioned already, but...

Name: Initial Trial Explanation Fail
Type of cough-up: Timeline
Location: 1-3 (actually that's not very important) and 3-4
Description:

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney translators wrote:
Under the "initial trial" system, tomorrow is the last day we have. That's the new court system they introduced two or three years ago. They had so many cases in the system, they decided to speed the whole process up.

Some of you have probably figured out where I'm going here. There's a case that occurs four years before 1-3: 3-4. And yet Phoenix claims the initial trial system was introduced "two or three years ago". 4 > 3. Q.E.D.

NOTE: This probably isn't an issue at all in the Japanese version, in which case the trial mimics the real life trial system anyway (or so I've heard) and no hand-waving statement like "it was introduced one day" was needed.

He said the "Initial Trial" system was made that many years ago, but what he meant was the rule where the trials must end in three days... CLEARLY, there were trials well before 3-4... Heck, even Trucy references it in 4-4, when she is asked about what a "Jury" is.

Well. yeah... but they never mentioned the initial trial system in 3-4. Now, if that trial ended after 3 days, then it would be a contradiction.

I guess...

BUT!

Why would they call it a "system" if all they did was impose a time limit?

Well it got rid of juries as well. (Well a least in the US version it did since the US has juries...)

I don't know if this has been asked, but I haven't got time to check all 42 pages :/

Name: Gant's reason
Type of cough-up: Motive
Location: Rise from the Ashes
I just replayed the case and this left me confused. What was Gant's reason to kill Neil? It was never really explained, they just kind of jumped over it. He had no reason, except maybe to become Chief of Police... But as he says, he would've become anyways, so it was a big risk to take. I can't figure it out.

It was to make it look like Ema killed Neil by pushing him into the armor. Lana would want to hide this "fact" and rearrange the crime scene, with Gant's help. This way, Gant could blackmail Lana and have control over the Chief Prosecutor and in effect, the Prosecutor's Office.

Well, Gant was already becoming Chief of Police, so that was not really his reason to do this. The SL-9 Incident only sped up this process, but he was gonna be Chief of Police anyway.

Still part of the motive.

It also guaranteed that he would become Chief of Police. ('Cause you never know what's really going to happen)

I believe the motive didn't have something to do with Neil
Spoiler:
He set the whole thing up in order to make Ema Skye look like a murderer, which would lead to Lana, wanting to protect Ema, Fabricating evidence to make Darke look like the guilty party. and, of course, allowing gant to have a certain amount of control over Lana for the Fabrication. ( I'm terrible at explaining things :meekins: ). It could have been anyone, it just happened to be Neil ( if someone doesn't understand this, it's my fault

I doubt it. If he really did have a grudge against him, he would've said so in his confession. I mean, he confessed to everything, why would he leave out his grudge for Neil (if it existed).

I did notice someting out of place ( not exactly a cough-up) I hope they aren't mentioned before.
edgeworth's office is ( according to Jake marshall ) on the 12th floor of the prosecutor's office
yet, if you examine the ladder at the bookshelves, phoenix mentions :edgeworth: has fear of heights.

Well, maybe Edgeworth does have a fear of heights. I don't think he chose to have an office on the 12th floor. No, he was appointed to that office. Or at least, that's what I thought.
Then why doesn't he close the curtains if he has a fear of heights? I don't know... Maybe he just stays as far away as possible from the window.

Spoiler: 1-5
Damon Gant wanted to punish Edgeworth, so he forced Lana Skye to put him on the 12th floor, in order to intimidate Edgeworth.

And Nurio? If you recall, there's a drawer RIGHT next to the window where he keeps tea leaves... Something tells me he'd see the window plenty of times...

Eh... You're quite right. Maybe Phoenix doesn't know Edgeworth as well as he claims?
I mean, I just remember
Spoiler: 3-5
Edgeworth had to bring Iris to the training room, right? Then he would have to cross Dusky Bridge. He seemed perfectly fine with crossing such a high bridge. If he really head a fear of heights he wouldn't really be okay with it.

Yes, but that's for other reasons entirely. Phoenix was in panic and like you said, his face was green after "crossing".
Edgeworth wasn't really forced and never seemed to have much problem with it.

Spoiler: 1-4, 3-5
You've also got to remember, Edgeworth has had a couple years to learn to get over it... Who knows what happened between 1-4's conclusion and 3-5? (Incidentally, he HAS been taking numerous plane rides, which tend to bring up "Aviophobia" (Fear of Flying), which goes together with "Acrophobia" (Fear of Heights), so... Yeah.)

Who knows, maybe Phoenix just have a case of Gephyrophobia (Fear of Crossing Bridges)!

The bailiffs don't go patrolling the goddamn court-room, but good point. It would be possible to do it, because when you see Phoenix waking up from his nap, you don't see anyone around, also i'd think someone would wake Phoenix up yelling "NO SLEEPING IN THE LOBBY"
