Max. I'll never forgive him for being circus-themed.

Zak was not circus-themed, only magic-themed, which is okay in my book. Besides, if you exclude the disappearing in the middle of a trial and getting his lawyer disbarred, the child abandonment, and the trying to make it appear that Phoenix was a cheater for no apparent reason, he was a great guy.

ZAK. -_- YOU PISS ME OFF.
I mean, seriously! He's the one responsible for not having/hiding/whatever-he-did with the evidence that got Phoenix disbarred! And then he tries to take him down again...by CHEATING. What the heck?! (Not having Trucy should have been fair enough!)
Max, at least, was somewhat okay...I didn't like him that much, but he wasn't bad either. (Excluding the country bits...O.O) Zak Gramarye....GAH, I hate you. -_-

Although I agree, Magnifi was pretty dang bad...and Valant is too. -_- The whole family's screwed up!

Lol yeah. They were both kind of jerks but, Maximillion was a nice guy by the end of the game, while Zak has several times as many flaws and the way he was going if :garyuu:

hadn't killed him he would have ended up worse. Max turns out to be a nice guy, Zak is a complete and total sociopath.

However based on the way the troupe is maybe this is a result of being in the troupe and he would be a little more like Max if he never joined the troupe, :varanbaran:

was a bit of a jerk while he was in the troupe but he a was genuinely nice guy when he was without them. Magnifi corrupts all.

Max is a big jerk. I hate PW chars with common words (like von Karma and fool, Ini and like) and after Fool and Like, we get a big dose of Fabulousness. 2-4 adds to the mix with Engarde/dude.
Zak is awesome. He can actually act coherent and he's a good laughable guy. Kind of like Gumshoe, but WAYYY cooler, more calm-collected, and he CONFESSES TO A CRIME HE DIDN'T COMMIT to protect THE GUY WHO FRAMED HIM.
Though this may seem stupid, it proves that Zak cares about others. And no one thinks of him as an idiot in the PW series. Everyone from the circus hates Max.
