Alright, I've finnally decided to make a thread on this.

Yuma (Me) and Oyashiro-Tan are coming together to make a series of PW-Fangames based in one of the casemakers.
At the moment, we are only working on the sprites and designs, Getting the stories set up. We -CAN- tell you a bit about what we have planned, and, if you're willing, how you can help.

Edit: Progress is halted untill we get a coder/programer for PWLib.

Progress:

Image

Updated every month. Estimated Time of Release: N/A

Progress broken down:
Sounds - 70%
Sprites - 25%
Coding - 0% <--- Need assistance
Dialogue - 11%
Story - 65%

Case 1 - N/A
Case 2 - N/A
Case 3 - N/A
Case 4 - N/A
(Case 5?) - N/A

[People that Have Contributed/Are Contributing]
Yuma (Me) & Oyashiro-Tan: A good bit of the main sprites, planning, creators.
Lind L. Tailor - Kohal Sprites, Tsume Sprites.
Darklord Qwerven - Reteiki Inquiridor Sprites.

Basic Information:

This game takes place somewhere after the events of Apollo Justice, though has little to nothing to do with the mainstream plot. Irya Sheen, age 18, is one of the youngest defense attorneys ever known. It is said special circumstances or grades got her in. She's simply another defense attorney...with another past she'd rather not talk about. A mysterious prosecutor with certain impressing qualities faces her as she goes upon cases with the usual Phoenix Wright flare!

Characters:

Irya Sheen, Defense Attorney
Image
Spoiler: Irya Sheen
Image
Image
Name:Irya Sheen Inquiridor(Meanings: Irya=Indian/Sanskrit for Powerful,Energetic, also another name for the god of the Sun;Gaelic for Quiet One.Sheen as in a ray of light or luster. Her adopted last name,Inquiridor, means Questioner.)
(Fun fact:I made her name before finding out what it meant :v)
Nicknames: The Turnabout Tsurupettan,Pettan,Flat-Chest,Loli,The Road Devil,Frau Klein.(Aka,"Miss Small" in German >_>)
Age:17,though she's a LOT shorter and...endowed than she should be.
Occupation:Defense Attorney in Training(Under Reteiki)
Personality:Quiet unless needed.Often very relaxed and calm, trying not to seem unnerved.Easily annoyed by being called "short" or "flat-chest".Due to being called Tsurupettan(Flat-chest in Japanese.Expect there to be more in other languages) by Kohal, she did research on multiple other languages for insulting, sometimes using them in court during cases where language is an issue,to see if whoever she's cross-examining knows more than they say...in English. However, she's only limited to insults and a few phrases. She seems to have already known most of the phrases, though.
Typically a good driver, but you do NOT want to be on the road when she's rushing somewhere.Has an odd dislike for pianos.Likes "Two kinds of magic":Occult, and slight of hand.Has an addiction to powdered doughnuts, and has quite the hoplophobia(Fear of guns).
Bio:One of the few survivors of an odd fire that took a small mining town by the name of Kalt,Irya was adopted by the retired Defense Attorney Reteiki Inquiridor. He taught her everything she knew, needless to say, later adopting her.She uses his family name in court.
Family:Reteiki(Adopted Father, mentor),???(mother, possibly deceased, called "Kinder than her profession"),???(father, possibly deceased, once called a music player),Sometimes mentions a sister(Possibly deceased, often called "Their perfect daughter" and "The sister I could never live up to".).
Friends:Tsume,Acuto(Both share a love for the occult).
Rivals:Kohal(Called "Pointy","Cabbage",and Leek,in response to Tsurupettan),Hati(They seem to get along better outside of court, both being avid readers).

Kohal Leicht, Prosecutor
Image
Spoiler: Kohal Leicht
Image
Image
Character belongs to Yuma.
Name: Kohal Leicht(Kohal=Kohl=Cabbage.Leicht=Easy.Not a fitting name,mind.)
Age: (At time in picture) 25-31
Occupation: Prosecutor
Personality: Ingenious and coolheaded, but an icy mood and overall dismissiveness blast his otherwise good natured intentions. (In short, he's an ass.)
Bio: Kohal Leicht became a prosecutor a year from the "Current events"(Aka,just after the last case of Apollo Justice). He has only lost one case since then. He seems to have a reason for being Icy, but at the moment no one knows why. (Seems to be related to a trial in the past he was the defendant in...). His red eyes can startle the unprepared, and is known for usually getting a first-examination Guilty Verdict. Even more surprising is if he makes a mistake or loses a case, he seems hardly fazed.

Reteiki Inquiridor, Scientific Investigator

Spoiler: Reteiki Inquiridor
Image
Character belongs to Yuma.
Name: Reteiki Inquiridor (The Last name stands for Questioner)
Age: 28-32
Occupation: Resigned (?) Attorney, Currently a scientific investigator.
Personality: Known for his serene kindness and questionable tactics, he's kind, but seems to not care about a lot of things. His expression is usually some sort of the off-in-lala-land idea, and he seems to be a bit vague. However, he lets out a surprisingly serious look at times.
Bio: Reteiki Inquiridor was a prosecutor from ages 23-27, but afterwards it is unknown what happened to his career. It is assumed he "Resigned". At the age of 28, only a year later, he passed the test to become a certified Scientific Investigator, and is currently in a high position in the field. However, he constantly gets grilled for helping the opposite side. He also seems to be a Cola addict...He knows Irya Sheen personally. Kohal and him seem to have a hate friendship going on...But, oddly, it's one-sided towards Reteiki, whom seems to have no problem with Kohal. At this time, however, he simply investigates crime scenes to the best of his ability...
Family:Irya(Adopted Daughter),rest is unknown.

Sköll Fenrisson, "Evidence Gatherer"
Image
Spoiler: Sköll "Tsume" Fenrisson
Image
Name:Sköll Fenrisson, but he prefers to be called Tsume.(Skoll,as in one of the wolf sons of Fenrir. Was to eat the sun during Ragnarok,as said in Norse Mythos.Tsume simply means "Claw" in Japanese, hurr hurr.)
Name:Skoll “Tsume” Fenrisson
Age: 19
Occupation: Thief, Evidence gatherer.
Personality:A greedy and competitive delinquent, Skoll is the type of person who always manages to find himself in trouble. Does not like to associate himself with most people, distancing himself from them (obvious exceptions being Yashi and Hati). However, despite being a greedy delinquent, Skoll can still be a reliable person, and is willing to help others in danger if they’re “interesting” enough. Has a bad attention span, he usually finds himself stealing whatever he deems ‘interesting’ rather than gathering evidence while working for his brother, Hati.
Bios: Raised in an orphanage, Skoll had not gotten to know his true parents, and was, at the age of 14, adopted by a single mother. Not long after, his brother Hati had gotten a job as a prosecutor and moved out. His foster mother, who he was not very close to, began doting on him, and, as a result, Skoll ran away from home. After running away, Skoll began to involve himself with the wrong people, involving himself in various illegal activities (Robberies, car thefts, etc.), and, was eventually arrested. While imprisoned, Skoll’s foster mother had died, and, a few months later, he was released into the custody of his brother, Hati. Skoll currently works under his brother as an “Evidence Gatherer”, using his ‘street smarts’ to sneak into potential crime scenes to find any evidence that might be of use.

Family: ???

There are many more characters, but these are the main ones you'll encounter.

For information on sprites, visit my sprite topic, or Oyashiro-Tan's, which will be open soon.

Noteworthy Additions:
-The Mask System-
Spoiler: How it works
Everyone has a "Mask." Irya Sheen's 'ability' is to be psychologically able to visualize the masks people wear, and watch as she breaks them. To trigger a mask, she must break a Psyche Lock system. (Yes, Psyche Locks will be included in this game too.) When a mask is 'broken', the wearer's true 'face' is revealed. However, with some cases, it can get complicated. An example is:

Witness:
I took no cookie from the jar.
-Psyche Lock-
-Break in which he reveals the truth, Kid looks apologetic...but,-
-After a break, a very brief flash of a mask is seen on the screen. This is Irya 'sensing' the true face or thoughts of the witness. When A Psyche Lock is fully broken, and a bit of text follows it, the mask fades into full view-
-The Breaking of a mask is like a Psyche Lock break, but is entirely based on speech rather than evidence. Making the right psychological choices of things to say can break a mask!-
Example:
-Mask is a ?-
"I don't have a reason for eating the cookie."
"Your reason was:
1- You were hungry
2- You thought it was a toy
3- 2. is wrong
Obviously, the right answer is 1. If you are on the right track, a crack in the mask appears. Masks can typically take 4-7 Breaks. There are cases of very weak masks, that only take 1-3 to break. Some will take Impossible amounts of breakage, so being on your guard is essential.

Through a break;
A mask completely covers the witnesses face when they are talking. When it is broken, a new face is shown. In the example of the cookie...
*Mask Breaks*
-The kid has a smug bratty look on his face-
"Yeah, I took the damn cookie. So?"
In more serious cases, a insane or breakdown face can be seen after a break.

Summary of some cases in the 1st Game:

Spoiler: Case 1 Spoilers
A tourist visiting Kurain is murdered, the suspect...Yarla Fey,part of the branch family. This case will be the introduction of a Psyche Lock system. The mask system will not come into play until the second case.

Spoiler: Case 2 Spoilers
A man of considerable status and money gets murdered. His daughter becomes the main suspect, and the witnesses are only the man's maids/butlers. The case in which Masking comes into play.

Spoiler: Case 3 Non-Spoilers
Nothing of much will be said about this, because it is something I'm quite excited about doing. Case 3 will be "The most gruesome and horror-movie esque" of a PW case you'll ever see.

Cases 4 and the bonus case are not listed due to not wanting to spoil them. You'll have to find them out for yourself!

This looks interesting :godot:

The Mask system should be possible just by spriting the characters with masks on too. Just as one of their poses. So it's possible on PyWright and PWlib :grossburg:

It has to be an above animation, like how the psyche lock works.
Masks are supposed to "Hover" on the face. It's still possible that way, but it's more work to make it look like a seperate bit on a sprite than to just do it.

I'm really looking forward to the "horror-movie esque" case. Sounds like it could be great.

Actually, that isn't TOO hard.Just sprite the mask, and have it go up and down at the rate of a blinking animation ouo

@Ping':Ufufufufu~ :uramidn: I came up with that case myself. It'll be quite horror-movie-esque~

Oh dear... I was thinking of something horror-movieesque for the final case of my sprite comic. Oh well, it was only a concept.

Ours will be at least somewhat gruesome, is all I'm saying. Complete with comic-releif characters, with an added terror-filled overtone.
...Or something like that. :yogi:

I think Vissal's first theme would be better suited as a reminiscence theme, myself.

Anyway, I am a huge Cowboy Bebop fan, and think that Yuma's theme is a perfect match.

Thanks, guys. I love Cowboy Bebop too, and especially it's music. :godot:
Also, update:

And, I edited the song listing so that the names are in them. Note: Japanese names probably means Touhou, Touhou remix, or something Touhou related. I think, anyway. :yuusaku:

You might want to get the themes remixed or something.
As you said, it seems really unoriginal.
I could probably try composing something.
Spoiler: CV
Grade 2 Piano (almost grade 3!)
Grade 3 flute

but they probably wouldn't be that amazing.

Wow, I love your ideas for the Mask System. Makes me realise how all characters in the actual AA games do seem like they have "masks", and when you prove them wrong, their true faces are shown.
I have an interesting idea for the engine of the Mask System, Pm me if you feel like!

Also, L's theme from Death Note as a "Mask Breaking" theme... so awesome. SO awesome. Your pick of music amazes me. I hope you the best of lucks.

My plan with L's theme: It's the most editable theme I've ever heard; First, when you enter, you get the "First Portion" of the theme; The piano by itself, Looping, course. After 1st break, another portion of the song is added, And so on following untill the final break. If there is more than one mask, it will keep playing from the last break.

And I'll PM you, sounds interesting.

Re-PM'd you.

Also, you could have three Unmasking themes, like Gyakuten Kenji, "Unmasking - Moderate", "Unmasking - Allegro" and "Unmasking - Final Unmasking".

For example, if there are 3 masks, the Moderate theme plays. When you brake one, the Allegro one plays. And when you are left with one, the "Final Unmasking" theme plays.

That's sort of what the L idea is doing. How it will work is kinda WIP atm; Right now we're just concentrating on getting the characters done/Trying to find coders or people that can help US code it. I think we might use PWLib, though

If you want (and do have a defined idea of the mask system), I can try to go and develop a basic version of it whike I'm working on the Mikumo Extension.

PM me if you're interested.

And Replied to KSA, too!

As for posting the finished sprites, I was trying not to due to laziness...I suppose I should, though...

Update:
Put some of the sprites up.

Also, our current area of concentration is getting dialogue written and story completely set up.
We also DESPERATELY need coders or people experianced in coding in PWLIB. Help greatly appreciated! :D

It's nice to see that 2 of the 3 you put up were my creations.

Y'know, the sprite topic's been somewhat dead of late. Are we making any progress?

Currently, we're working on the scripts and doing some work on spriting, (Oyashiro moreso than me... :payne: )
My current working is finishing up Yuma, I suppose. Once I'm done with him, I'm going to work on some court sprites, then get to worth on writing the scripts for my assigned cases...

As for the game itself, we're going to need to find a coder or two... Unless we really go through with one of us trying to learn it, which will take longer in itself. Still, progress on what we can for now! :yogi:

What we also need are female voice clips for Irya.

Mine doesn't work,so... :sadshoe: ;;

Irya's defense sheet is almost done, though.

I'd get to work on her front but goddamn,Trucy needs more hatless poses >___>;

We need a coder/programmer that knows how to use PWLib effectively A.S.A.P.
We would learn, but I have other things I'm trying to learn that I'd like to turn into a future career, and it doesn't help that there are other projects I'm working on as well as trying to study more when school arrives. Oyashiro too has a similar problem.

Learning it would take too much time that we don't have. If we do not get a programmer/coder, this project will likely halt and stay halted...FOREVER.

So, yeah. WE'RE. DYING. OVER. HEREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! :meekins:
