Perhaps Apollo could take a case where his client really is guilty (like case 2-4), but Apollo doesn't know and gets them a not guilty verdict, which comes back to haunt him when the client kills someone else and frames another person who is also Apollo's client.
So like this:
First case appeared in
guilty + client, innocent verdict
Second case appeared in
guilty + not client + frames client
And the client who turns out to be guilty would be a jerk, not like how the other jerks pretend not to be jerks so as to be fairly unique, (maybe like a combination of what
, 
, and are like).Actually that would be interesting the client bets Apollo when he makes them unhappy.

Murder is serious business, and I don't think it'd be a very nice joke to pull ^^; If you gave a good reason for making everyone panic so much for a joke, then it's cool. Otherwise, I think that being accused is stressfull enough without someone close to you dying :(

Person X has committed a murder of someone he used to know long ago, and framed someone else. However, person X discovers, to his horror, that he's been called up for jury duty. Now, if he's called to preside over that case, the jurist system people will search for any connection between him and the victim, and discover that there is one and he'll become a suspect. But X sees a chance - the jurist system hasn't progressed to becoming universal yet, and is only used for the most important cases. This means that if a more 'important' murder occurs, then the jury system will be used for that case. Knowing this, X decides to murder the most beloved public figure possible, and frame a random person. That way, that case will take precendence, the jury, including X, will be assigned to that case, and it will be easily verified that X never met THAT victim, so the jurist system people will have no reason to check further back in X's history, thus rendering him safe from being connected to the victim that he DID know. The person framed for the second murder wants a lawyer, contacts Apollo, and the case begins...

Another case:
is convicted of murder. The murder weapon? A bowl of salty noodles. When they find out the victim wasn't poisoned, they start blaming the ridiculous salt content.IMO a good final case is where a Zak-level jerk is murdered, the defendant actually did it, had a VERY good and even excusable motive, and they try to get another jerk sentenced in their place. Apollo has a moral dilemma. Will he fight for truth? Or justice?

Seriously in hindsight, Mystery Inc could easily do an AAI game except with a ghost theme.

1. A man is murdered in a haunted inn, witnesses claim the ghosts killed him. The owner of the inn is the defendant, but looks like she's the killer because she hated the victim, who was her daughter's fiancee.
And the daughter really killed him. Oops, spoiler.
2. Pearl gets a channeling request from Kristoph's ex-girlfriend (Kristoph was exectued a la Dahlia), she's also a lawer. But ends up dead and Polly must defend Pearl!
Secret motives- Pearl hates Kristoph for making Nick loose his badge, so it would seem that she would have motive to kill his girlfriend.
This is a bit too much like 2-2, I know... But it sounds better in my imagnation.~

I just want to see a case that involves the highest in power. Those are were the storylines can get really ugly and detailed. Plus it gives Apollo a chance to make a name for himself like when Phoenix helped solve DL-6 and SL-9. It can be quite serious, perhaps a country's government that has connections or associate with the criminals responsible launches an attack on Apollo and co. A lot more than 4-3's Cacoon Smuggling Operation and the Interpol Agent being murdered.

That'd give them a reason to re-explain the cross examination method, the assistant would ask:
'Please demonstrate to everyone how to use the court record.' And phoenix would explain it.
We'd have ROBO-PAYNE9211 Where he malfunctions when he loses, and the culprit would glitch as a breakdown. xD
It'd also give a chance for capcom to break the 4th wall.

So, he demonstrates by having his own case in the computer, the assistant would be some sort of reporter, since the assistant in the 1st case is never the assistant again.
That'd give them a reason to re-explain the cross examination method, the assistant would ask:
'Please demonstrate to everyone how to use the court record.' And phoenix would explain it.
We'd have ROBO-PAYNE9211 Where he malfunctions when he loses, and the culprit would glitch as a breakdown. xD
It'd also give a chance for capcom to break the 4th wall.
'See that button over there? Press it to open the Court Record.'

Another thing I came up with would be that from Case 1 in the next game Apollo is dead and you get to play as re-lawyered Phoenix as he solves the mystery of Apollo's death...
God, just shoot me...
It would be extremely sad, but really great in terms of Drama...
I'd also like to see different reasons for defending someone...Cas 3-2 brought my hopes up with the whole 'stealing thing' but that changed quickly...
Maybe someone is accused of rape, animal abuse, robbery, accomplice, scandal, or something like that...
